The smell of wine, bread, and smoke filled the nostrils of Fabian as he sat in the inn. Many people were very excited all around him. The gathering of the gods at the Pantheon was about to take place the next day, and many people were excited as to what celebrations the Pantheon would host. As this was the annual gathering no real discussions were coming to the table, meaning the Champions, having gathered from across the continent to the pantheon, would do what they always did when there was nothing else to be done. Party. Fabian chuckled slightly and sipped on his drink. He was never expressly invited to these gatherings, many people considered the Trickster gods shrine to be more of an assassins and criminals guild than a place of worship. Being a Town away from the Pantheons city one would think people would recognize a champion. Not Fabian, apparently. The champion was very good at not being seen when he didn't want to be, but he began to question his need for his powers when nobody paid him any mind in the first place.

"How fitting that the champion of deception and stealth isn't noticed when he isn't even trying to stay hidden. Either i'm just that good or i'm just that useless." Fabian mumbled. Scanning the bar one last time before he got up, he left the bar to start his morning journey to the city containing the Pantheon. As he walked through the market place he swiftly snagged an apple from a vendors stall and continued on his path. Unfortunately Fabian then felt eyes on his back, and grew worried that possibly someone had seen him take the apple. He picked up his pace slightly and continued down the path, hoping this feeling was just paranoia.

In the continent of Zastier, the gods are ever present. Across the land no settling from the small fishing village to the bustling cities are dry of places of worship. Many gods are worshiped, and no town ever claims the same god as another as its protector. Societies within the continent vary diversely culturally, and thus one might think they would clash. However the fear of the Champions clashing holds war at bay. The champions are those on Zastier whom were chosen by their temple to represent the gods on earth, and to hold the powers of their gods within them. All issues between major powers in the land of Zastier are resolved at the capitals great pantheon, where Champions of great importance assist public officials and end disagreements while respecting their gods. You, the one reading this, are now able to become a champion. Create your character and choose your god.

Rules are simple. You represent the God and have their powers, however you do not have their power. Your character is not a god, and should not be able to be wiping other gods or armies out instantly. Also, certain gods out of respect to those whom may be offended are off limits. For example: Hindu gods, Christian God, Allah, Buddha, or any prominent figure within the spectrum of religions with large followings today are off limits. Another rule, no god is better than the other simply based on following. I know little of Mayan gods and know much of Greek and Norse and Chinese. This does not mean my God is better because of their powers or influence. That being said a main point in the story is representation of gods at the pantheon. Some gods within this realm have larger followings (will be determined by story which gods these are) and may therefore have a cocky Champion. You can be one of those, but don't be that guy. You know... THAT GUY. You also do not have to be a champion if you choose. Being a Saint(one whom works with a designated temple but is not a champion yet still has been blessed with unique powers) of an element or force is equally viable. Demi-Gods are viable depending upon demi-god.

DISCLAIMER: If you find this may be offensive (i.e. you would find Ares getting beat up by Odin offensive) don't read this thread or join please. This is just what I think is a cool idea that is relatively unexplored.

This can be anything we decide to make it. Romance is allowed if you want, just don't be explicit. Two players fighting each-other is fine so long as one does not try to dominate the fight(refer to rules). All ideas are welcome. Not all gods have to be at the Pantheon. For example mine will not. Your mannerisms need not be tied down to the god your character represents. It is what you make it.

Next post will be 1)An example of what you should provide for the rest of the thread to see so we have a base understanding of your character, and 2)My character.
