So, I’m a long-time roleplayer and before that an aspiring author—nothing is so beautiful as a perfectly placed line of prose. For this reason, I am seeking a partner who takes writing seriously but has sense of humor enough to endure me when I get a little too wordy (it happens). I like to post frequently, and for that reason, I prefer to engage in instant-messaging and PM’s to brainstorm ideas whenever there’s a writing slump (and even when there isn’t). While I don’t expect posts every day, I do hope that we can communicate whenever you know you can’t sit down to write for a while. Finally, forum threads are my preferred method of writing. If that doesn’t do it for you, my alternative is google docs. If that doesn’t work for you, then… we’ll talk. As far as age and gender preferences, I wouldn’t care if you were an ancient, genderless shoe: whoever and whatever you are is fine by me, so long as your writing is compatible with mine. I have no preferences for genre or character personalities/match-ups so long as you are passionate and capable with whatever you write. In the words of Sylvia Plath, “…everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.” That being said, I am a female roleplayer, going on 24, and yes, I'm studying English in college. My limits and expectations depend mostly on you. In regards to graphic material (sex, violence, etc.), I tend to stick by the rules of most online forums: no exceptionally explicit content is allowed. I love hot, steamy romantic scenes and I am kinky by nature, but I respect the “fade to black” mentality for a myriad of reasons. Sexual drive in a story makes things fun for me, but it is never the ultimate goal I aim for. That being said, if a situation calls for it, I am capable of writing out such “inappropriate” episodes via PM or IM if such details are necessary to move a story forward. Other than that, I believe that my writing speaks for itself. I have a few writing examples below, and if you feel that the style present in my writing is cohesive to yours, I don’t think it’s necessary to talk about my preferences for post length and complexity: I expect nothing from others that I cannot produce myself. This is my first and only idea I've developed so far. Although I am open to any kind of plot developments for this (read the "Plot Ideas" below), it is, in its barest essence, a master/maid-bodyguard pairing (naturally, I'd like the female role). If you guessed that powerplay and romance will be at play, then you guessed correctly! I have a basic background for both main characters, so you can check out the general direction of the story by reading what I've put down. If any part of this idea intrigues you, go ahead and PM me or post here!

"You. Are. Utterly tactless, bringing that up at a time like this!" Adele cracked her knuckles, already having to let off some steam. "I'm aware that money will make you roll on the ground and bark for a master, but I have slightly loftier goals--like not dying. Exactly what point is there in any job if you get your neck snapped? Did it even occur to you that it might have been Gaivus' intent all along to bring us harm? Either he's the biggest moron ever to run a business, or he's purposely trying to draw his enemy out. "Screw protocol--I wasn't raised to follow orders without question. Djonn needs to be more than diplomatic in a situation like this. I mean, really! Those nobles favored the White Guard name enough to shelter us for free, and now we're bringing danger to their doorstep? You think that's justified because someone who already lied to you says so?" Adele fixed her glare firmly on Rook, hands on her hips. "I thought someone like you would have valued my safety as well as your own more than pretences demanded by rank."

What the--is he serious? Fire returned to Adele's eyes as she glared at her commanding officer. Gaivus knew about all of this from the beginning! Us knowing about it isn't going to change his mind, so are you seriously putting all of us in danger just because he'll say no? What's the point in anything I just said if you're not willing to see it through! A tap on her arm didn't make her any less upset about the current development, and she stared at Rook incredulously when he asked her to go. Was he worried that she was going to loose it again? Didn't he realize just how tense the situation was and how wandering off would just make it worse? Wasn't he angry with Djonn, too, what with how casually the man conceded to honoring an idiot's wishes? "...This had better be good." Adele growled under her breath as she turned to follow Rook. What he wanted to discuss was well beyond her imagination, but they'd have plenty of time to chat while Djonn spoke to Gaivus and the others about the new "nature of the mission." She'd already heard more than she could take.

Yes, yes, I think I can manage. Also, is it just me or are Adele and Djonn polar opposites?

"Feh." Adele wasn't overly fond of being manhandled, but the violent urge to return the gesture of her arm being grabbed with a punch was more shocking than enabling. It was certainly in her nature to be mouthy, but violent? Never. The society she'd lived in could forgive hot-headed insults, but not physical assaults. What makes it worse is the fact that all of them are right. I'm not grateful for this brat's sudden sense of conscience, but alienating our only informant isn't a smart move. Zach's apparently so confident that he already wants more money for our trouble, but Marcel's right to worry over the immediate threat this presents. Adele moved her free hand to muss over her hair--a calming gesture as she tried to keep her temper from getting the best of her again. "Look, I apologize for exploding like that. It's just--the moves Gaivus has been making defy any sense of caution. I'm sure you're obligated to follow orders and keep up appearances to hold your job, but look around you. Every person here has a name, friends and family. Your enemy is apparently targeting your Gaivus, but they've also shown no mercy to the people close to him. Protecting your company assets and your own personal wealth is mportant, sure, but don't forget that part of those assets are human beings. If you intend to be the steward of a company, you are also responsible for what happens to those people, so keep in mind that every action you take affects them and their future." Adele's tone had softened, but her gaze toward the woman was still stern. She needed to establish some trust, but she wasn't going to grovel for it. "There are some assumptions we can already make from what you've said. It's obvious hat you've been closely watched or infiltrated, which means the enemy is aware of your travelling routes and stops. The assassination attempts don't seem particularly professional, given the casualties that only drew attention, but they are able to set up well planned attacks all the same. They'd also need considerable wealth to hire multiple thugs across such a distance, so we're at least a little closer to understanding who's after your boss. I'd like to know why they want him dead, but discerning the identity of this 'mastermind' isn't important at the moment." Adele folded her arms, turning more thoughtful than stern. "Our best clue right now is that site of the tree trap. If we could determine roughly how recently it was made and if the thugs are still nearby, we could at least uncover whether we're dealing with a common band of thieves or the people after Gaivus. There's even a possibility that the assassins are seeking help from local rogue bands to tackle a group of mercenaries like us. "Given the nature of the former attacks, however, I don't think ambushing us in the wilderness would be their style. Taking out an entire band of White Guards would draw far too much attention to their goal, not to mention inflict the wrath of a multi-national group of active mercenaries. If they strike, I imagine it will be a precise and quick move while the majority of us are distracted. If we think along those lines and assume that they were the ones responsible for the trap, it may have simply been a way of gaging reaction time or even slowing us down. "Of course, if we make that assumption, we'd also have to assume that they knew about the route we'd take since this morning or sooner, which means someone close to Gaivus is currently feeding information. If they'd expected us to take the main road instead, it would make sense for them to have tried to scare us back to where they'd made plans for us to be. Maybe they were buying time to put a larger group together--who can say? "What I can say with complete confidence is that taking these merchants to the noble estates without informing them of our situation first is out of the question. If something were to happen to them or their serving staff because of the issues surrounding Gaivus, how could we possibly justify it? The safest strategy is to return immediately towards the main road and make our way from there. Even if we were attacked, the footing and visibility in addition to the towers' security would make any sort of ambush much less plausible."

I've been waiting around as well, but I daresay the time has given me ample thought towards my next post. I might get one out tonight despite catching some internet troubles mysellf. Also, that last post was an attempt at an intelligent Adele. Hopefully I didn't overdo it.

That's an awesome map, Clark!I can already feel my adventuring wanderlust tingling. On another note... yeah, Adele is pretty nutty right now. Hope it's not too much; I can edit anything if nessesary.
