@Legion02@Sekora Welcome, both of you. I'm going to say 2 more people and then I'll close the RP. After all this is my first RP on this site. Let's take it easy to start.
@Rogue Colm I found one that will work. It's close enough.
@Rogue Colm Is there no way to upload a picture? And, I was more or less talking about brothers in arms and that sort of shenanigans, being that we (the Roleplayers) would be the only ones seeing your bio. As for what they can do would be important to include if you're going to be doing things. My character is going to be sitting in a chair for the majority of the time. XD So yeah, include skill sets and so on. Maybe include where they have been seeing as it may provide information on what type of knowledge they have in the streets, just not a detailed back story on how a cheese burger changed your life or anything like that. If anyone would like to be the "new recruit" that is also a thing seeing as in the opener one of the assassins died. So for the bio on that, just give your skill sets and where you are in life at this point in time.
@Zhoren Welcome aboard.
@Rogue Colm Going to be honest with you. I have no clue how to add a picture. I'm completely new to this format. Either help me get my sea legs or feel free to post your own CR picture. As far as background before the Ankou, I'd say that it's not important to the company. You want to talk about it with a different character, go ahead. I mean if you just walk around constantly telling everyone your life story feel free to put it in you character sheet. A good way to think about it is "is this common knowledge that I would share with everyone I meet?" I also believe that a characters personality should be discovered inside of the RP, and not described outside of it. Perhaps you can have a phrase like "reckless" or "dedicated" to in your history description.
In the description I have described the RP as modern/Sci-Fi. This means that it's going to be pretty current. Not a whole lot of flashy stuff in the common life, but your an assassin who probably has a few tricks up their sleeve. For sake of reference I would say a movies like "Minority Report" or even "Total Recall" would work as comparison. Kinda cyberpunk? I mean there's nothing that an old man would use in his mansion while he was watching TV and paper is probably the safest form of documenting in the computer age. As for what kind of gear you will be using refer to my first OOC post. In addition to that I will say no lasers, maybe concussion rifles, shiny types of grenades are welcome and... besides that I can't really think of anything else.
Name: Mr. Dean Ethermore
Age: 78 years
Gear: The Mansion and a Pistol
History w/ the Ankou: Dean Is the oldest member of the organization. Taken off of the streets by the former director he was raised in wealth with a knowledge of what it means to have nothing. His adopted father pushed him into acrobatics and taught him at home, never letting on to his dark background. When Dean was of age (16) his father broke the news and gave him is first contract; who just so happened to be tied up in the basement. From then on he continued to work for his father as well as study. Eventually his father showed him that there was much more to the Ankou organization. Usually 15 assassins would be employed to do various contracts handed out by the director. At the age of 30 his father died and handed the head position down. He started at the bottom and now he's the one pulling the strings. He inherited the wealth and the power.

"Assassin? Scum is more like it." An old man took a sip from a wine glass as he watched the television. The he seemed stressed, his large frame silhouetted by the light of the TV and the fireplace. "He's probably just another two bit thug who got a hold of his fathers pistol." He brushed his white hair aside as a picture came up on the screen. A drip of sweat hung from his brow "I'm just happy that Mr. Berton is in good health." The the man being interviewed replied to a question. The old man, Mr. Dean Ethermore, pressed his forefinger and thumb to the bridge of his nose and shook his head. "Unbelievable." He turned off the TV, reached for his phone and held down a number. The speaker rang once then was picked up. "Stuart's dead. We're going to have to pack up shop again." A voice on the other side complained. "Yes everything. Dispose of anything we don't need." The old man hesitated. "And find a replacement for the young man."
He hung up the phone without another word and sat there looking down at it for a moment. Then he picked it up and slammed it down again, again, and again before placing it nicely back on it's perch. leaning back in his chair he reached for his glass of wine again and spoke. "I'm getting too old for this." He downed what was left in the glass, stood and made his way over to his desk.
There he pulled out a key and opened a filing cabinet. 15 folders were inside. He picked one up and opened it. Inside was a picture of a young man sitting on a park bench all smiles. Below it read Stuart Gert. "He was a good kid. Too good for this job." Dean thought. He flipped through the pages of the file as he meandered his way across the room to the fireplace. The white haired man thought stopped and stood at the hearth of the fireplace till he reached the last page. "Guess your number 23 Stuart." He closed the file and threw it into the fire. The pages lit up and curled back turning to black. Then to ash. Dean turned, picking up his wine glass, leaving the room.
He was topping off his glass again when there was a knock at his door. He looked at the screen on his wrist band, pulling up the surveillance footage of the front of the house, Camera 18. It was his usual courier. A young lad. About 14 years old. He pressed a finger up against the screen and spoke, "Hold on, I'll be down."
He walked through the mostly empty halls leading to empty rooms full of memories. He walked down the ornate curved staircase, into the grand foyer, across the dark and light checkered marble floors and under that over sized chandelier. It was the only chandelier he had ever seen that seemed to give off a warm glow. He looked again at the camera view before opening the door. "Hello Christopher." The boy held out a letter. "Good morning. This was in the drop box today." Dean took the letter and pulled out the usual payment of 100$ cash for the young man. "Thanks, and here's yours." Every time the boys eyes seemed to light up as he graciously took it from the Director. He probably had no idea how dangerous these little chores were. He closed the door behind him after wishing the courier a good day.
As he started to make his way back to his office he pulled out his reading glasses and opened the letter. It was a basic contract. Nothing too fancy. A fine pay off with 75% in advance, as is the usual. He made a pass through the kitchen on the way to pick up the glass of wine he had left behind.
Arriving back in his office he took a closer look at the contract. He searched names and started to gather information on the marks. When he was satisfied with what he had gathered he selected three candidates and sent out the appropriate messages. "They should be more than enough." He thought as he finished up. He stood up and got ready for the company of his subordinates. When he had finished he took a seat in the grand foyer, propped up his bad leg and continued nursing on his glass of wine.
This RP will be about a contracting office that hires a select group of assassins to complete jobs. I will be acting as the head of the department and present issues to be resolved by your O/C and other participants. In other words, I will be the world you are acting and living in, in addition to being your boss. The boss doesn't partake in missions, he simply hands them out. The setting will be a densely populated city. Being assassins stealth is... recommended.
This will be an organized RP. There will be taking turns acting and reacting. If a participant fails to reply for the span of a week, their character will be put into my hands. Death is a very likely outcome of this. Oh yes, death will be a part of this. It keeps the story lively and colorful. If you wish to rejoin after a character of yours dies feel free to add a new character.
There will be minor Sci-Fi elements, however I want to leave physics in tact. I will have the final say if there are any questions as to whether an action is valid or not. What I'm saying is, BE REALISTIC, and do your best to not be overpowering. A good rule of thumb would be that a well arms SWAT team should present a life threatening challenge. If I disagree with something feel free to plead your case.
On the note of overpowered I'd like to give some examples as to how gear will be limited to prevent OP characters. Maybe you have an armored suit. However that suit can't have 30 different things it can do. You may have the ability to cloak/become invisible. However the NPC's can still here you. Maybe even smell you. You can have cybernetic limbs. However physics will still apply. If you have a cybernetic arm and you lift a car with it, you'll break your back. You can have enhanced eye sight. However you can't see through 5 buildings and pick out a single human. Stating to catch my drift? I hope so. As far as weapons go that's entirely up to you. Just know that civilian casualties should be avoided, and if someone sees you walking around in the streets with a rocket launcher they'll probably call the cops. Oh, and now pulling a rocket launcher out of your back pocket like it was always there. Like I said, I want this to be as realistic as possible. XD
Let me know if you are interested. This will be my first RP on this site, and I'm hoping it is a pleasant experience. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
@Rogue Colm Would you like to wait for more people to take interest, or would you like to dive right in, and let the others trickle in as we go? I'll leave the choice up to you.
