There was little else Aya could do for Destin now but watch his breathing. She sat by his side and stroked his fur. She felt a mixture of guilt and pleasure. Here he was beside her. She hadn't realised how much she'd missed his presence. Why did it make her so happy to have him here, even in his sorry state? He was just some boy she'd met. She wrapped one arm around her legs and stared into the fire, trying to make sense of it all. The worries closed in around her. Were his campmates alright? What if one of them was injured? Where were Kianna and Brick? They weren't in trouble at the river, were they? Whoever might have harmed Destin could still be there.

Destin stirs a bit at her touch, feeling warmer already. He soon yawns, parting his jaws. "Mm...Aya?" He asks sleepily. He opens his eyes, lifting his head, before groaning. "No...not going to do that." He sets his head back down and sighs a bit. He looks around the best he can and his fur begins standing on end as he can smell the overwhelming Rabin scent. He pretty much goes in all out panic mode. "No.." He whimpers. "I've been captured!" He tenses his muscles, ready to bolt.
Aya gently prodded around the area of the swelling. "Well, it's not life-threatening. The water in his lungs was, but that's all gone now. I just think he's going to need to rest." She quickly check his legs and paws. "The good news is that I don't think anything's broken. He might of cracked a rib, but I can't really know for sure until he's conscious." she looked at Sacha in a rueful matter. "Unfortunately x-ray machines just don't belong in a forest."

Sacha nods slowly. "Alright. That sounds good to me. Keep him here as long as you think you'll need to. and keep me updated on his progress." She rests a gentle hand on Destin's head. "Hope you feel better old friend." She then walks back over to Grant to wait for his response to her question.
Aya couldn't help but give a small smile at Sacha's kindness. Everyday she was grateful that it was Sacha above all others who lead the Rabins. She quickly turned her attention back to Destin's body. In the past people who had fallen into the river tended to get scrapes and bruises from the rocks. Someone as small and delicate as him in this form was bound to have worse injuries than that. She first checked his head, which thankfully showed no signs of trauma, but as she moved down to his torso one side was clearly swelling from impact with something hard. "Sacha, would you mind grabbing me a compress? There should be one on my desk in the medicine tent."

Sacha glances at her and nods. "Yeah, of course." She hurries into the healer's tent and spots the compress. She grabs it and heads back out, grabbing the wood as she passed it. "How bad are his injuries?" She asks, worried for her old friend. She hands the compress to Aya before setting the wood pieces onto the fire.
Despite their conversation about Destin earlier, Aya knew that Sacha wasn't heartless. She tried to catch her breath and moved Destin's body to the fire as she recounted what happened as calmly as possible. "I was showing Brick the river, when we found Kianna there. She'd just saved Destin from the river... He was dying." Aya layed Destin by the warm fire, parting some of the jackets which bound him so that Sacha could see him and so she could observe if he been injured.

Sacha blinks and walks over. "No, not Destin.." She bites her lip worriedly. "You know he and I are friends right?" She chuckles, kneeling down next to him and gently patting his fur. "Let me know if you need me to grab anything to help." She gets to her feet and heads over to her tent to grab more wood for the fire.
Sacha glances over from where she was waiting for Grant to reply. She nods a greeting to Aya. "Hey, I hope you stayed safe. Where's Brick?" She then frowns at the shape in Aya's arm and turns to get a better look. "Did someone get hurt?" She asks, concerned. She begins walking over.
Destin curls closer to Aya for warmth. He was so glad he found her again. He'd missed her. And if he died, at least it would be in her arms. He begins to purr softly, raggedly, but still able to be heard if she listened. "I missed you Aya." He whispers softly, before letting her movements rock him to sleep.
Destin shakes his head weakly. "No. Not Rabin camp." He feebly kicks his paws. "Herbs all burnt. I need...more." He struggles to opens his eyes again, just barely managing. He looks up at Aya. He then sighs and rests his head on her arm, shivering more. He closes his eyes to conserve energy. "Don't kill Misha."
Suddenly, Destin splutters, coughing up the river water. He turns his head to the side, coughing hoarsely. He whimpers and forces his eyes open weakly. "Did I...die?" He asks quietly, then notices Aya. "Oh look. An Angel has come to me." He closes his eyes again and lets out a shiver as he tries to curl in to a ball. "So cold.."
Kianna swims after the motionless Brom, churning her paws to propel her towards him. She nears the small shifter and bites for his scruff. The water was chilling her to the bone and she struggled to veer them towards the bank.

Destin's body was soaking wet and he appeared dead. His skin, if she could have seen it, was pale and slightly blue in color. He wasn't quite dead, but definitely unconscious and not breathing.
Destin whimpers as he feels blackness lick at the edges of his vision. He manages a few last kicks, propelling himself closer to the Rabin side of the river. His eyes then close and he lets out his last reserves of air, before letting the river take him away.
