Jett leaned back against the tree and put his hands behind his head. "That's because I'm not a Brom, and I'm not a prisoner," he corrected. He paused and rubbed his nose. "Although the part about me pissing off Sacha isn't wrong." He turned away from her, trying to remain unrecognizable, and added, "I'm just here because I need somewhere to stay for a little bit."

Amelia scoffs. "I've never seen anyone get Sacha so angry!" She giggles slightly. "Not since her stupid ex or whatever he was. They would argue so often, it was kind of great." She stretches her arms over her head. "Never seen her punch someone before. Not in a really long time. what did you do to piss her off so bad?" She asks curiously.

Leo rolled his eyes irritably and followed the taller man. He snorted and glared at his back, growling as he looked around. He swallowed hard and shoved his hands into his pocket,s looking down a bit. "Hmpf... stupid man... No give forward answer..." he muttered grumpily.

Xavier ignores the boy as he spots a clump of the herbs he uses for his poisoned throwing knives, up ahead. He jogs over and inspects the leaves. "Yes! They aren't too dry or too wilty." He chuckles, gently pulling several of the leaves and folding them into a pouch at his waist. He glances at Leo. "Hey kid, come over here and help me a bit!"

Jett opened one eye and glanced towards the voice that seemed to come out of nowhere. He straightened up, surprised by her sudden appearance, and cleared his throat. He blinked a few times, studying her face. Oh wow... That couldn't be... Amelia? he realized slowly, struggling to recognize her due to how much she had changed. He shook his head to clear the memories that tried to push their way into his mind and chuckled, "Yeah, I guess that's me. Not so sure I'd go as far as to call myself a prisoner, though," he added. Could've fooled me though based on Sacha's terms, he thought cynically.

Amelia steps back at his voice. She narrows her eyes, trying to place him. She then smirks slightly. "But you're obviously not a Rabin. And Sacha obviously punched you. So you definitely pissed her off." She crosses her arms over her chest. "You seem to stupid to be a prisoner anyway. No one's really paying attention, you could run away and be halfway back to your camp before anyone even noticed you had disappeared!"
@Fionraella

Jett sat quietly in an empty corner of the camp. He leaned back against a tree on the perimeter of the clearing with one knee pulled up to his chest, staring blankly at the sky. This is nice... he thought peacefully, closing his eyes against the pale sunlight; but the peace didn't last long. He felt his anxieties creeping back into his mind and a frown came onto his face. As of right now, I've only got two weeks to get back on my feet... What am I going to do after that? He let out a heaving sigh.

Amelia watches Jett from afar. She had seen him come into camp, go into Sacha's tent, leave with a bloody nose, and now watches as he rests in the far corner of camp. She adjusts her grip on her crossbow, thinking she had seen him before. Shaking her head, she drops out of her tree and sets her crossbow by her tent. She walks cautiously over to him. His eyes were shut so she scans his face for anything familiar. Not seeing any, she clears her throat. "Hey, you. Prisoner boy."

Aya smiles and relaxes at the sight of Destin. So he didn't leave without saying goodbye. Really, she shouldn't have thought otherwise. It was wrong of her to jump to that conclusion. She was happy to notice that the light seemed to have returned to his eyes. Perhaps sleeping in a warm bed - or rather, on top of a warm bed - had done him some good.
"How are you feeling? How's your side?" The healer half of her took over, even though she was positive Destin had the know-how to take care of himself.

Destin smiles at her concern. It felt nice to have someone care about him. "Seems okay. A little tender, but not too bad." He looks around her tent. "So this is your tent...huh?" He asks, almost wanting to ask permission to snoop around. He looks at her, head tilted before rocking back and forth on his heels. "So uhh...did you sleep well?" He asks awkwardly. He wasn't used to actually being able to talk to her, without the fear of being caught, that it was super weird.
Aya sleepily woke up in her cot, hardly wanting to get out from underneath the blankets because of the morning chill. At once she remembered the events of the previous day and hastily reached to feel the spot where she Destin had curled up to rest by her feet. To her disappointment there was just an empty space. She rubbed her eyes and got up, realising she'd gone to bed fully dressed. Well, there was hardly any point in changing her clothes now.
In her examination of the tent, one that had formed out of a habit to make sure no one ever tried to fix themselves up with poor medical knowledge, she noticed that some herbs had been touched. She felt safe to assume that it was Destin's doing and wondered where the boy had gotten too. He hasn't gone back already, has he?

Destin walks into Ayas tent again and grins, seeing her. "Hey you're finally awake!" He says happily. "I was just outside getting some more water. I've been showing Brick how to make poultices." He sets the small bucket on the desk and walks towards her a bit. "Sorry I wasn't here when you woke up. I wanted to be. But...you know how it goes." He rocks back and forth on his heels, a bit nervously.

Selena was smiling a little, an odd sight as she made her way through the camp. She had everything planned for her and Selena's date, a few movie tickets in her pocket, a table reservation at a small restaurant down the street, and hope in her heart. This could be the night that all her dreams come true. She made her way over to Sacha's tent, so happy she didn't even notice Jett walking out. She walked in.
"Hey, I've organised everything for our da-" She started to say, stopping when she saw the crying girl, rushing over, "Oh my god, are you ok?"

Sacha scowls, a bit upset that she had been walked in on. "Yeah. I'm fine." She sits up and rubs the back of her hand across her eyes. "Just not having a very good day I suppose." She chuckles dryly. She looks at Selena and then groans. "Shit...our date's tonight isn't it..." She curses again and gets to her feet, exhaling. "I'm sorry Selena. Just...give me half an hour to get ready." She runs a hand through her hair, clearly anxious. "I'll need to put on nicer clothes, see Aya about my hand, figure out what the hell to do about that boy." She hisses that last word.

Brick watched intently as Destin explained and showed how he prepared the medicines. He'd have to repay the boy somehow - just a stash of herbs wasn't nearly enough in exchange for life-and-death knowledge.

"I expect there aren't many large sources of honey nearby. Just the occasional hive."

"You do know. There's a town to the north. That has stores. Stores sometimes have honey." Destin grins, laughing a bit, before shaking his head. "No, but you're right. Honey is scarce in the forest. But once you find some, boy does it last awhile!"
@Fionraella

Brick nodded at the explanations. He understood the concepts, but the bee balm looked an awful lot like purple clover to him, and the mallow seemed a bit too close to a normal flower for him. He didn't think he'd be comfortable harvesting either until he'd handled both a lot more often. Perhaps a book on local herbs would be a good idea. And maybe some books on wilderness medicine and alternative medicine. Those also went on the list of things to get in town. At this rate, he felt he would run out of money very quickly, but he didn't really care. He could always make more if he had to.

"I've seen that usnea stuff around a little. It clings to trees and fallen logs, right?"

Destin nods and takes bits of the unsea and bee balm and begins mashing it in the mortar and pestle. "Yeah. It's all over the place. Pretty handy." He says as he adds a bit of water to the mixture. "Another thing to add is a tiny amount of honey. It helps seal wounds, fight off infection, and its sticky. so if you are running low on bandages, honey helps keep everything sticking to the wound."
@Fionraella

"Sorta like one of those allergy dot tests - just a lot deeper, if you'll pardon the expression. That'd be perfect. And if there is an allergic reaction, I can just clean it out with water."

Brick looked over the herbs that Destin was gathering, recognizing a few of them, but not all of them. He pointed out the three unknown ones to Destin. "Haven't learned about those yet."

Destin holds up a small clump of white lichen-looking stuff. "This is usnea. It's a lichen that is anti fungal and anti viral. It's not a great herb to use, but I like it because it gives poultices more rigidity and they tend not to run as much." He holds up a small purple flower. "This is bee balm, it makes great tea, but you can also put it into poultices to help with infections. I find it goes well with the usnea, but only in certain seasons when they're just starting to flower." He holds up the next one, a root. "This is mallow. It's not a great herb for poultices, but there's so much of it around. It's great in teas though."
