Welcome to The Jean Grey School for Higher Learning
Here mutants young and old, new or experienced are going to learn about the wonders and the dangers of what it means to be a mutant. It is here where the X-Men, heroes, vigilantes, and occasionally acclaimed terrorist will educate and train you to become the best version of who you can be.

----------------

That's the message for those who are still naive enough to believe that crap people put on the ads. If you're remotely aware of what happens in the home of the X-Men the only thing a student in this school really needs to know is that once a month, if not a week there will be a new threat getting ready to blow up the school because of what someone, the teachers did, to that one guy, or group, probably some sort of intergalactic or mystical creature. on certain occasions it may just be some normal humans who have a bone to pick with mutants for some reason, or maybe its another mutant who's angry or ticked off because they can't control their powers and now they're out for revenge. Maybe it's SHIELD trying to spy on the school, or maybe the brotherhood trying to play SHIELD so they can blow up the school, or it could be the Avengers and the X-Men are having a another stupid fight because of that one thing or that one person, again.

Honestly the adults who run this place are incompetent when it comes to teaching new mutants and the students who are actually trying to learn, so finally someone smart, who's name probably doesn't start with H and M decided let's have the students who are only really here because they have nowhere else to go. They have the experience, the skills, and they actually want to do it instead of homework.

This story follows the adventures of a group of Jean Grey Institute students as they are recruited to form a special task force meant to tackle the school’s problems when the teachers are away dealing with intergalactic troubles. The characters will fight gangs, B to D list villains, deal with enemies after the X-Men, and guide the new mutants as they become a part of the more complicated matters that the X-Men has to deal with. They'll also try to teach and train because god knows the actual teachers can't afford to teach the near hundreds of new mutants who are in school for schooling.

NOTE: As for characters we are limited to characters who are canonically in the Jean Grey School, as far as I know as of writing this.

If anyone is familiar with the New X-Men, Young X-Men, and the Wolverine and the X-Men titles this story will follow characters introduced in those titles, and will go in line with the stories presented in those stories wherein the adults are too busy to deal with the people they're supposed to help.

There is no need to read up on the comics, and you do not need to be up to date. Minimal knowledge of the X-Men will suffice. The only thing you need to know is that these students are canonically in the marvel universe and are students in the school, Xavier and Wolverine are currently dead, Storm is running the school, and the campus currently looks like the picture above, details will be added later.

As for the plot it will mostly follow the group of characters, and their staff adviser. They'll go on missions and do action stuff, most of which will be about dealing with the things that the X-Men are too busy dealing with, such as looking and rescuing for new mutants, dealing with old and new enemies, and going on finding themselves as they journey into adulthood without the X-Men and the school as a net.

Size wise I'm pretty fluid, but I'd like to keep it to a maximum of eight people, me included. Standard RP rules apply of course. If you want to create or play character not on the list talk to me about it, but just understand that the main reason I made this RP was because I felt like these characters are being done a disservice by being stuck in the background when they have their own story potential.
I'll bump this just in case.
This story would basically follow the same premise as that of Sense8, Netflix's new original series created by the same people behind the Matrix Trilogy, and Cloud Atlas.

The general premise of the story, without spoiling any of the show is that there are a group of people who are linked together telepathically allowing them to share their senses, emotions, knowledge, skills, language, and history. These people would then have to learn how to cope with their newfound abilities and the fact that they are no longer alone, deal with the things in their own lives, and somehow escape the people who are hunting them because of who they are.

Each of the characters, the sensates, live around the world and have their own lives, but when their cluster, the group, is linked together they begin sharing their lives to one another. Within the cluster they can visit each other in the present allowing them to openly communicate, talk, and feel one another's presence to seek guidance, be with someone, and find comfort in the openness that is inherent in their connection.

This RP would basically be Sense8, but with original characters.

Now in all honestly this RP is very rough around the edges as the premise is a little odd, but what i do know is that it's very much character driven. There will be a main plot namely that there is an organization is hunting the group, but that process is slow. For the most part and for the majority of the story each character has his and her own storyline that would be affected by those in the cluster because of little conversations and influences that they have with and on each other with the main plot slowly creeping in on them.
Thanks for the input guys. I guess I'll just put in that i'm specifically looking for seven or less amount of players.
The story would basically be about eight survivors in a post apocalypse america, and by post apocalypse i mean they are literally the only humans left, for a while anyway...

Hello all, I haven't done any RPs in a while becuase of school and work, but the semester is almost over for me and I'm starting of going back. Anyway before i start going back i was wondeirng what you guys consider to be a small or large group?

For me a small group consists of around five people, plus and minus two or three, whereas a large group would be ten and above. When i say people i mean role players, not characters, or should it be the other way around in a sense that when you say group size you mean the amount of playable characters in the group?

The reason i ask is because a possible RP that i'd want to do in the nearby future with a maximum of at least eight players with one character per person, would that kind of story be considered a small group or a large group?
Highly interested, but whether I join or not depends on how much activity is needed on a daily basis. If this the type of RP that requires me to post three times a week then I probably won't be able to join given my schedule.

I have a question as well. Will there be any limits to how much power a playable character can have in this city? Say for example can my character be a rich billionaire business mogul who is running an organized crime syndicate on the side?
This seems interesting.

What's the limit on the Pokemon we are able to choose from? Are we going to be region specific or every pokemon is available? I'd rather we be region specific just so it's not too chaotic.

Also what kind of posting schedule do we have? My schedule is pretty tight so i can mostly do two per week, on an easy week.
I will try and have something up by Thursday,.
This seems interesting. I was in one of these some time ago, but it never took off. I'd love to participate if possible.

Questions:
1. How active does a player have to be. My schedule is pretty tight these days and given my track record RPing i can probably make a decent length post (A good few paragraphs) twice a week.
2. What sort of roleplaying level are we thinking of here?
3. With regards to all the characters I'm assuming the player characters are "key" characters that make stuff happen, and have some sort of special characteristic.
4. This is kind of a suggestion more than anything, but wouldn't it be ideal for each character to have a set goal that they wish to accomplish, and have a set community goal, a form of crisis that everyone is also trying to accomplish, but the personal goals may get in the way.
* For Example let's say we have "Nurse Fred" his set goal is to secure a clinic for the sick and injured, but the current goal is to find food, immediately, as such he has to set aside his own plans for now to go with the group.
5. This is kind of a wild guess, but i'm getting a Dead of Winter vibe from this RP.
