@reganza No no. I control my account but I converse with the characters I create. Helps to cement their personalities, give them their own voice, you might even learn something about them you didn't know. Eventually they just write themselves. You should try it.

This is such a freakin' awesome idea.
Hopeful that someone made it and is alive, muster up the energy to call out "is anyone there?"
(And/or recite the prologue from Romeo and Juliet)

Ahh.. just me raging. Since writing posts on this forum with my HTC Desire is a shitty as f*ck! I hope the guy i wrote to did not take it personaly since the anger in the post was at the phone, not the original poster. The thing is in one of my post i made my character find a crashed HumVee belonging to Army Rangers, since their base (Fort Lewis) is located near Tacoma. Inside he found 3 small arms: M4 SOPMOD II, FN SCAR-H, Berreta M9 and ammo for the latter two. He posted that it was unrealistic since, they would send a team to recover the arms. I posted that the risk would be too hign to make a scalvage op. FOR TWO RIFLES. US has one of the largest militaries in the world, so they probably would have the guns to arm them all. So it would be an small loss. Not to mention military seem just to die off in The Walking Dead series.

Just getting in on this whole thing now, but.. Yes, your point about it potentially being too dangerous is absolutely valid. However I'm inclined to disagree with you on the latter. Yes, our military is huge, but as you correctly pointed out afterwards, many in this series seemed to die off, suggested that the military may have fragmented. Therefore the humvee may not have been an official army vehicle, but rather the remains of a platoon that had mostly been killed, and they were just trying to survive like anyone else. In which case, and in a world where guns are your livelihood, it is more than plausable that someone would want to go back for it.

Edit: in response to Exit's point, this is true, had the humvee crashed during the initial outbreak, it almost certainly would be empty. If you were a scavenger, and you had the choice to search a Prius, or a humvee, which would you choose?

However, again, the military could have fragmented. That vehicle may have crashed two weeks ago in-game time, and hasn't been looted yet. Additionally remember that the human population of the planet is not shrinking instead of growing. Each new year there are less and less people to scavenge than there were during the initial outbreak. That is, assuming more people are dying by biters, than babies being born (which i'd imagine that level is really low; enough condoms for a population of 3.5 billion, and the mindset that bringing a baby into this world would be unfair to it)

Jack took the lighter and nodded a silent thanks, beginning to work as he listened - going inside to retrieve some bits of old dried out paper that had been left in the cupboard, gathering the wood inside the dusty and long-vacant fire-pit, and striking the flame on the paper to catch it. After he was done he returned, setting the lighter down next to them as a small fire crackled to life.
"Ashford? Small town, some twenty miles southwest of here? I was on my way down there, stopped here for a couple nights and had planned on going through there at some point..." He trailed off, seeing that whatever happened there seemed to upset Chris a bit. Deciding not to ask what had occurred just yet, Jack instead busied himself among the dead deer, making a large cut along the torso.

Before the outbreak he would have near passed out at the sight of what he was doing. Now, after killing men and monster alike and doing damn near anything to put food on the table at night, he had since discarded his squeamishness for a neutral, detached look of indifference toward the carcass. Cutting three generous slices out of the meat and setting them aside, he made a mental note to continue the job as soon as he finished dinner, and to salt the remaining meat for it to keep. There wasn't all too much left after those pieces, which he understood considering the size and condition of the deer. He figured he'd have to go hunting again before he left the campground to have enough food to get him back to civilization. Placing the venison steaks on a clean, flat rock on the inner rim of the fire, he returned to the two teenagers while the food cooked.
"I should probably warn you, I was attacked by a walker not too long after I shot that deer. The thing didn't get too near me, and it was pretty frail which probably means he was one of the only one around these parts. Still.. I'd keep my guard up if I were you," he suggested, before looking back at his weapons on the picnic table. "In fact, if you don't mind.." He went back over and placed the five stray bullets back into his revolver, before quickly tucking it back in his holster to show that he was of no danger to them.
