The Tower: Group C

As soon as the door slammed shut, they were enveloped in silence.

Xan was sprawled out on the floor, muscles aching and worried thoughts spiraling out of control. She pushed herself to her feet and slid into a defensive stance, waiting for the doors to fly off their hinges. However, the walls weren't smashed to bits and everything remained calm. The bearon's growls, the skittering of multiple feet, and Oren's own snarls were gone. The only thing that remained, was the sound of their breathing.

"They vanished..." It was almost impossible to believe. Xan closed her eyes and listened intently but all traces of their enemies were gone. She made her way towards the closest guilder, Lute and offered him a hand. "Thank you," she huffed before pulling him to his feet.

Lucien was a little farther away. The summoner was on his back, eyes screwed shut. "Are...are we in heaven yet?" He asked through gritted teeth. Slowly, propped himself onto his elbows then got to his feet. "You guys okay!" He reached down to yank the cleric up then hopped off to help Dylan. "Ugh, my back..."

Compared to the tospy-turvy world outside, the tower was relatively normal...

The first floor was completely empty thought there were several doors that lead to who knew where. The tower was much bigger inside than it was out, and when one looked up they would see a soft, neon green glow. A giant staircase led to the next floor.

"What now?" Lucien looked around, eyeing the checkered tiles. They had a lot of red on them, in fact, the walls had red smeared on them too. "Heh, I bet the people who built this place like red."

"We find the others," Xan frowned, the thought of marching headfirst into the unknown without a solid plan was frightening. "Is everyone capable of moving forward? We can't head outside...the only option is up." She waited for them to respond then began walking up the stairs, the next floor was frighteningly quiet as well.

"Soooo, we're just gonna keep climbing, yeah?" After all the craziness, they had finally been given a break.



The Tower: Group Two

"Hell, that was too close." Atlas was huffing and puffing, both hands on his knees. "Is everyone still breathing?"

He glanced at both Moira and Syed then moved on to check on Aria, Lisette, and Kapi. Everyone was alive...that was good enough for now. Something inside his coat began to shake and he looked down to see a worried Isaac, sniffing at Kapi's direction. He gave the little hedgehog a pat on the head then frowned.

What had happened to the giant wolf and skeleton and why weren't they breaking in? It was too quiet...

"Dr. Dream's office is on the top floor." He stated before glancing worriedly at the door. "We don't have time to spare, let's go." Atlas led them up the stairs and into a hallway of paintings, the painting's eyes never left them. "Is it just me or does it feel like we're being watched?" Everything felt off, but the paintings themselves did not move, only their eyes did.

The magician resisted the urge to shudder and focused his eyes on the staircase on the other side of the hall. "The lab should be on the seventh floor."

Heya guys :D and their next destination is Dr. Dream's lab (somewhere in the massive tower) so they'll meet up eventually. Feel free to have them spot each other :D I shall post after Tae.

Ace's cheer managed to put a smile on his face. "I guess you're right, they've got each other."

Harper sat up only to let out a wince. Funny, how things hurt a lot more when the fight was over. The adrenaline had ebbed away, and he was feeling sore all over, his elbows and knees stung and he felt so much older. "My back," the boy mumbled, "ughhh, this isn't pleasant." He grabbed onto his fallen sword and used it as a cane of sorts. The boy got to his feet and stretched, wincing each time his aching muscles complained.

"I'm..." Great wasn't exactly the word but he would live. "Okay...how are you holding up, Ace?" He narrowed his eyes at her injured hand, Harper was never good at hiding concern. The boy's eyes flitted to both Inadi and Leila and he smiled a little, now that the fight was over, everyone looked peaceful. However, they still had a list to complete and the guides were probably worrying their heads off. "I wish we could rest, but--" Harper's expression turned serious, "the others might need our help, we'll need to keep moving." He offered the weary Inadi a hand and helped yanked the older boy up.

"We've got a mountain to climb." He didn't sound excited, but there was no mistaking the determination in his voice.

Zephy, slapped Leila gently and when the girl didn't respond, she gave her another. Eventually, the archer came to and the messenger gave her a grin. She began tossing bandages towards the humans, yelling for them to look out. After that she helped Leila to her feet and encouraged the weary archer to keep at it.

Harper laughed a little at the lively messenger then gave the archer a sympathetic glance. "Come on Leila," Harper smiled brightly from one of the ledges. "With an aim like that, you'll be sure to knock that dragon right out of the sky." He was feigning bravery once more, but hoped that it would help raise the quiet girl's spirits. The boy continued scampering up one of the ledges before finally reaching an earthy corridor that was lit by red and purple crystals.

Sunlight streamed in through the cave's cracks and the end of the tunnel could be seen in the distance.

"Fudgeee!" Riley sat up, teeth chattering and head pounding.

It was as cold as heck and she felt as if she had run a marathon. The girl looked to the side only to see Jasper. Aah, that was right! They had been fighting with an orc. Had she gotten herself into trouble. Well, it felt as if she had been run over by a truck so that would be believable. "I'm guessing you're my guardian angel." The girl still had it in her to joke. "Thanks," her knees felt a tad wobbly but she managed to get back onto her feet.

What Riley saw next took her breath away. "Oh my...God." Various colors melded into each other, mixing as they bounced off the icy prison's surface. "Beautiful..." She stood in awe, gaping at the scene before her. However, it didn't last, and soon the wind around the orc began to whip at the ice sculpture frosty had made. There was the sound of cracking ice, followed by the orc falling to the ground.

She looked away, Frosty didn't look so hot, in fact, he was extra paled and looked like he was about to pass out. Windy looked tired, but okay for the most part. Lesley was okay and Jasper, the healer was asleep on the ground.

"I can't believe we're alive..." she laughed a little, and raised her hand into the air. "Windy, Lesley, high five!" As soon as that was done she skipped towards Hakuren. He was looking better, now that Jasper had patched him up. "Frosty, that was very cool!" Riley was grinning from ear to ear at everyone. "I know we're all burned out, but I think we should look for the others. They must be really, really, worried." With some effort she managed to help Jasper to her feet. The girl swung the healer's arm over her shoulder and began walking away from the orc's unconscious body. "We make quite the team! I just hope the others are doing A-okay too."

Meanwhile...

"I don't see any of them," Serenade let out a defeated sigh. After searching around and below the mountains the guides decided to wait near the peak. The dragon's cave was just a few kilometers away now. They had been hoping to find the humans near the peak but they were nowhere to be found. They could only wait now. Serenade closed her eyes, It was frighteningly quiet.

A dark shadow fell over Sol and citizens below heard the beating of wings and a deafening roar.

Oblivion, I appreciate the effort. I mean, real life comes first of course. I'm just asking you guys to tell us on the OOC if you'll be busy, that way we know that interacting with your character will pretty much get us stuck, y'know? ^^ So a little heads up helps us avoid it. I look forward to more consistent posting. Thanks for understanding :D

Kei-chan, no worries ^^ just rest up and get better, the orc has been dealt with.

Alrighty, I'm back and will be working on a post. This'll be the last cycle in the forest and cave, the next cycle will move you guys along to the mountain top. Great work with those fight scenes, guys. *claps*

Andddd group one, I'm just going to ask for a tiny edit. You guys kind of made the orc blow up, and well since the humans are newbies, it'd be a lot more appropriate if one of the pillars just knocked it out instead.

Important Announcements

Hey guys, I'll be back in the afternoon and will post by then.

Phones, it's fine. Thank you for pulling us forward and Anon, I'll post Lesley's questions as soon as Oblivion finishes Leon's. I haven't really caught up yet, but I skimmed through the IC and good work, guys. You'll have one cycle to interact and rest before Kei-chan and I do a little timeskip and move you all along.

Now, for some announcements.

I've been repeating myself a lot lately, but here it goes. I've noticed that some people post a lot more during battle scenes than during interactive scenes and I would like to see that fixed. The interaction scenes will be just as important because future chapters will be far more weighty if we can build relationships.

So far, only a few of the Lost Souls have actually bonded and that might be a fault on my part because of the pacing, but I do believe they can bond even while constantly travelling and that the hardships they face will bring them closer together. However, it's hard to create bonds between them when some people have been rather inconsistent. Don't get me wrong, I love you all, you're all awesome and it's been a blast, but it's time for another reminder. I don't mean this cycle, you guys have been doing fine and I understand you can't move forward since I need to get a move-along-post up, but I do mean this chapter as a whole.

Some of you only post after I send a reminder. Remember, when you guys joined this RP the three day rule was stated and explained both on the weebly and through PM by me and you guys agreed. I would like to see at least one post per cycle. I understand if you guys are busy, but I don't want skipping cycles to be a constant thing. If you guys are busy though, real life comes first, but please tell us on the OOC. That doesn't sound too hard, yeah?

Announcement for the guides:

Thank you for all the help, it really is appreciated and I love you guys to bits and pieces, but here's an announcement as well.

I don't require you to post once every three days, but only as often as needed. However, when you guys are stuck with the humans (or at least interacting with them) I expect you guys to post more frequently. ^^" Zephy was mainly watching them deal with the mushroom and I'd appreciate an OOC post if you're gonna be gone for a bit Kathi-chan.

Don't get me wrong, you guys have been an amazing help. Thank you very, very much.

Andddd now back to regular announcements, whew, this is getting lengthy.

I don't want us to slow down too much because slowing down leads to lack of motivation and eventually RP death :/ this is why I'm tossing this super long post at you guys and I hope you all understand. I've been feeling a little demotivated lately, seeing all the cycle skipping and having to remind a lot of people and it makes posting harder. I can't do this alone, it takes all of us to keep the train chugging along smoothly.

Do any of you have problems, suggestions, violent reactions? Do toss them at me because communication is key.

Phones, Kimchi, Four, thank you very much for sticking with this from the beginning. I didn't think we'd make it when everyone started leaving, but thanks for not jumping off the train and onto the tracks xD

Aki, Oblivion, thank you for joining us. You've all been a joy to RP with and chat with :D we're defo glad you joined our little family though Oblivion I wish you'd be a bit more consistent and not need my reminders ^^"

Anon, Lesley is an adorable and unique addition to our cast. MUG, Inadi has been great so far, it's been awesome RPing with you once more.

Kei-chan, Kathi-chan, your help is invaluable and thank you for all the brain storming and planning and suggestions. Nowhere wouldn't be Nowhere without all your help and dedication and you guys have definitely been here since the beginning.

*Takes off GM hat* Okay, that was long...just to see if you guys have read the announcement (^w^) roll call please.

Also, how are you all doing on this fine mornight? I'll be back in a few hours. Friend is sleeping >8D and I'm debating on whether or not I should be an evil fox and doodle on her face, hahaha.
