The captain spewed out even more threats before commanding his Lieutenants to split up.

One, a tall man with the build of rock began charging towards both Nolan and Ray. The cook spent a good few moments gaping before the cogs and gears in his head finally began to work. He scrambled back, picking up a fallen cutlass and raising it just in time to block one of the man's blows. There was the sound of steel clashing with steel and a sharp pain shot throughout Nolan's arms.

It had been a strong blow, and had he not blocked in time, he would have been sliced open.

Nolan pushed back with all his strength, adrenaline aiding him in battle. He felt jittery and ready to fight back, this wasn't just a fight for adventure or gold, but a fight to help save everyone who was in the same predicament as Marcos. With a grunt he pushed even harder and the lieutenant staggered back. "Ray, requesting backup!" He tackled the staggering man forward, knocking him into one of the railings with a satisfying thud.

"Get offa me ye dirty rat!" The man howled as his back connected with the railing.

Nolan grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and while the man had more muscle, Nolan was at least a head taller. "You will let this people go!" He hissed angrily. It wasn't like him at all to be aggressive, but this was for a good cause.

"I've seen men far more threatening than you, rat." The lieutenant kneed Nolan in the stomach, causing him to double over and gasp for air. Seeing that the cook was stunned, he threw a punch at the man's face, sending Nolan crashing onto the wooden floor. "If you're going to threaten people, make sure you can back up yer words, aye?" He pulled out his rifle and aimed it at the man's chest. "Send my regards to Davy Jones."

I know xD I'd never ever try anything like that. Those things sound dangerous and quite plausible. Whoever attempts those games are either idiots, thrill-seekers, or people with guts of steel. One Man Hide and Seek has to be the creepiest ritual game I've seen so far, but here are more if you're interested, they're all pretty neat.

Nah, she doesn't do a screamer >w< I wouldn't send you guys anything like that, or would I? Have you heard of the creepy Korean ghost comic. It was very well done. I told my classmates it was a love story and a ton of them read it 8D their expressions were priceless.

The Midnight Train to Nowhere

Back inside, he hadn't really been listening, but now that they were out, Ace's words began to sink in. The queen a villain? That was ridiculous, RIGHT? She was helping them after all and she was offering them a ticket out of Nowhere, a chance to go home.

Harper shot Ace a pointed look, if that was the case, then the items and everything, what was it all for? He wanted to see the best in Nowhere and he was trying so darned hard! He didn't want to think poorly of the Nobodies and of the queen, not when they had been helping them from the beginning. If not for some of the Nobodies then they'd be dead by now, in fact, they would have died all the way back on the Shakespearean Star Fisher.

"Yeah, it was Mary." His eyebrows furrowed together in worry. "They're criminals though...maybe that's why she's after them." His mind wandered back to the encounter in the caves. The way those hooded figures had demanded for the list, the way they had bashed Haku in the head, they were the ones who couldn't be trusted. They were dangerous. Well, at least, that was what the boy believed.

The two of them trudged on through the pouring rain with Ace once again taking the lead. "That sounds like a good idea. I wonder if the others found anything as well. We could pool together the clues we gathered and maybe try to make sense of this mess." They walked through a field, the mansion coming closer into view. "Say Ace, what do you think about the hooded figures?" Harper didn't like them one bit, but they were from back home too so in a way they were all in the same boat, all stuck in this nonsensical world of sky pirates and ice cream mountains.

One of the birds swooped down, nearly yanking Ace's beloved hat off her head. It cawed loudly and soon even more birds began swooping down on them. How were they even able to fly in this horrible rain? The duo eventually reached the porch and entered the mansion. It was warmer inside and none of the birds followed. "They told us to regroup at the library, right?" The duo made their way upstairs only to be greeted by Haku and a cobweb covered Leon.

"What's up?" Haku was sprawled out on one of the couches, a philosophy book in hand. "You two look a little cold."

Harper blinked then eyed Leon. "What happened to him?"

"A vase fell on the poor queen's head." The ice mage gave his friend a pat on the head and Leon fumbled around with his now dusty clothes.

The wind mage scowled. "It was disgusting! But my ruined clothes aside, Elsa and I found some cutouts. What did you two find?"

Harper looked towards Ace, cutouts huh? "We found some clues too. I guess we'll be waiting for the others then."

Hakuren sighed, "slowpokes through and through, but what did I say? Birds of a feather always flock together."

Harper was no longer listening, the boy plopped down on one of the couches and sighed. "Things are getting strange, aren't they Ace?" He stared at all the books. Now they had to wait for the others and the guides. Hopefully they'd be able to make sense of all this.

"Eh, bros are supposed to have another bro's back." If there was something he learned from Don, then it was that.

Lucien turned to Syed and noticed the slight flush on his friend's cheeks. The mage tapped him on the shoulder and offered to help and the summoner grinned from ear to ear. "Nonsense, we're all going to help each other," he jabbed Syed lightly on the arm. "Besides, it doesn't have to be a date. We can find you a nice girl who likes machinery and you guys can have a lovely conversation or something." He nodded his head up and down confidently. "You've got that whole tall, dark, and handsome vibe, we'll definitely find someone in a flash." He was just about to pull Syed onto the dance floor when his eyes fell on Lute.

Ah, so the girls had left him for the bar. Perfect! With the three of them working together, things were bound to go their way.

He began waving excitedly, "you're just in time, Lute! Over here." When the virtuoso didn't come over immediately, he dashed up behind him and began ushering him towards Syed. Lucien looked from the virtuoso to the mage, a Cheshire cat grin spreading across his face. "Okay," he swiveled around before his eyes finally landed on a table where three lovely ladies were seated. "Perfect, there are three of them and three of us." The table was pretty close to the bar, so getting Syed to come along wouldn't be a problem. He hooked his arms with both of his friends and began taking strides towards the table.

"Good evening ladies, would you mind if we joined you?"

The girls turned their heads and the redhead in a green dress, eyed them up and down. They didn't look half bad, though she almost laughed at the blue-haired man's silly hat. Oh well, they were sort of cute and white haired male had a pretty face. "I don't see why that's a problem." The two others gave them a wave. "I'm Leah," she pointed towards the blonde, "Riannon," next came the brunette, "and Charlotte."

Lucien couldn't believe it, operation babe hunt was now in full swing! He would have whooped and given his friends a thumbs up but instead he pulled up a chair. "Lucien Maddox at your service, these are my friends Lute Aiseirigh and Syed Dyjani and it's a pleasure to meet you all."



Everyone was already breaking into smaller groups.

She would have followed after Aria, but they were headed towards the bar. "Hey Estelle, Marcus, pixie, mind if I tag along?" Looking around the mansion didn't sound too bad and neither Dylan or Dallia had protested. Plus, the thought of seeing more art sounded nice.

Trixie seemed pumped for this and grabbed both Estelle and Marcus by the hands before dashing upstairs.

Xan chuckled at the prankster's enthusiasm then followed after them. It took a while to locate them due to all the people but eventually she managed to find them and joined them by the balcony. The view below was definitely fantastic, from the pristine room to the lovely decorations. The small village she had lived in was nowhere near as grand. Being a guilder had definitely allowed her to start seeing more of the world. "Everything looks so colorful from up here," she mused as her eyes followed a few people dressed in bright clothes of all colors.

The Midnight Game sounds pretty cool D: but summoning a demon into your home, doesn't sound super smart. Lost souls are gonna play for info though 8D best of luck to dem hoomans. Great posts you guys :D I'll have a Harper post up in a few hours.

Please start returning to the library :D, Kei-chan will usher you guys back but feel free to move stuff along and make your way back too. Haku and Leon will be waiting there and when everyone arrives they can pool together their info then we can time skip to them starting the game.

We're almost done with the chappy >w< since after the game comes the finale, good job guys!
