Collab between Crescendo and Fox

Group Two - The Caves

It was dark and damp, Harper fell flat on his face, listening to the sound of footsteps. Ace and Inadi had managed to make it inside with him, but he couldn't hear any of the others. His amulet began to glow and it served as a tiny lamp. He could see shadowy figures, there were five of them. "Polo?" He called out before hopping to his feet and dusting himself off. "Ace? Inadi?" The boy squinted at the two other figures. One of them looked like Leila? The other one wasn't as familiar.

"Polo? Who's Polo?" A voice piped up crossly, the owner picking herself off the floor and gingerly dusting herself off. Of all the beasts they could have encountered, they just had to run into those awful elemental wolves didn't they? It was unlike them to appear in the area and they had caught the guides completely be surprise, causing this whole mess. "I knew I should've gone to scout forward." Zephy mumbled, peering around at the figures in the cave as best as she could with the little light that shone through the cracks. A glint of blue flashed in the corners of her eyes and she blinked in recognition, a small smile forming on her lips. Looks like they weren't completely out of luck just yet.

"I suggest you all close your eyes," she called out, before reaching down to grab a rock before smashing it in the direction of the blue sparkle. A brilliant flash lit up the cave, before gradually dimming down slightly into a soft but bright glow inside the blue crystal that Zephy had hit. The light revealed that they were in a sizeable cave, studded with similar crystals. The back of the cave stretched into darkness, the light of the one crystal not being enough to illuminate the place very far. After darting around and smashing a few more crystals into lighting up, she dusted her hands and looked around.

Glasses man was here, and so was booby woman and the young pale looking boy and the other shy looking girl. None of them seemed to be too injured and she gave a thankful sigh. It looks like the healer had ended up elsewhere so they would have to be extra careful. Speaking of the others, she did hope they were alright. The guides could take care of themselves even against the elemental wolves with a bit of difficulty, but the humans were unaccustomed to the dangers of Sol's forests.

There was bright flash of light and Harper shielded his eyes. It took awhile to adjust to the sudden light but when he did, he noticed the others who were stuck in the cave with him. Seeing Zephy made a wave of relief shoot through him, with the guide they would be alright. They just had to listen to her, right? Ace and Inadi suggested they go deeper and Harper spun around to see the exit blocked by giant boulders. If they had been just a tad too late, they would have been turned into pancakes. The far end of the cave was shrouded in darkness but they had their amulets and it would serve as a sourch of light for all of them. "It's our only option," he responded. "We should be careful though, bears or wildcats could be living here." Little did they know, wild animals would be the least of their problems.

Inadi mentioned nasty goblins and Harper laughed nervously. "If they come at us, we'll just have to beat them like we did the slimes," he didn't sound confident at all, but he was trying. "We have a guide with us as well," he nodded at Zephy. Then offered Leila a hand, the girl hadn't spoken at all. In fact, he almost never heard her say anything and if she ever spoke she's usually only say a word. "Let's go Leila, it shouldn't be too bad we have Ace and Zephy." He smiled at the redhead then marched forward. They needed to find the others and regroup as soon as possible.

Zephy ran to catch up with the hummons, inwardly sighing at how willing they were to just march off into the darkness. Bears and wildcats and goblins? If only those were what they needed to watch out for.

"I'll take the lead and scout ahead." She moved to the front of the group and turned backwards to face the small group, childish face unusually serious as she struck another crystal to light up their path. "To tell you the truth, if there was any other way out of the cave I would have suggested we try that first. Coming into the cave was a last resort- even the most experienced adventurers are hesitant to enter Sol's caves unprepared. When we encounter a monster, and there's no doubt we will, it's you people who'll have to do the fighting. I have no combat magic whatsoever, and my guard magic can't be used on other people." She took a deep breath. "The most I can do is try to choose a path that avoids monsters, lead them away if I have to, but whether we make it out or not will be up to you."

Harper froze. Experienced adventurers feared this cave and Zephy even said it was a last resort. They were going to die here, in the dark, where no one would hear their screams. Perhaps, there wouldn't even be bodies left to bury.
Double post, sorry, anddd posted.

Kathi and I are done with our posts :D we decided to make it a collab instead.

The move along post will be up tomorrow night, so those who haven't posted yet, do try to get something up before then. People in the forest, Kei-chan will be in charge of your little surprise, but you're going to need to look around a little before it gets thrown at you, or you can have someone make a lot of noise xD that'd work too.
It's great :D! I'd definitely recommend it. Plus, it's full of drama, haha.

Have fun with your new game! I understand, when I bought Skyrim it stole me away for quite some time xD. I see it's made by Atlus, have you played any of the Persona games?

Andddd just read your post. D'awww, Sasha is so embarrassed it's adorable :3 and Devon is such a little gentleman.

I'm going to get to work on a reply. They grow up so fast <3

Edit: Oh, Genkai :D since the festival is over would it be alright if I moved them along to high school? They'll be in separate classes but also share a few, right? And as for the first event, do you want anything specific or do we treat the dance as an acquaintance thing to start high school off?
<3 Hehehe, good mornight guys :D

Oblivionnnnnn, I'll answer the rest of those questions today. Hope you had a nice nap. How are you all doing?

Edit: I'll get a Harper post up this afternoon :D and done with Oblivion's questions. MUG, how's Inadi's interview going? (^w^)/

Another Edit:

1. Do you like sparkles?
"I enjoy looking at firework, I think they're stunning."

2. If you had the choice between wearing a pink bodysuit for a week or wearing swimfins for the rest of your life, what would you pick?
"Swim fins don't sound too bad, but I would go with the pink bodysuit because I'd rather suffer for a week than for the rest of my life."

3. Do you like online games?
"I'm not too fond of video games, but my older sister and one of my best friends loves them so I get asked to play a lot. Some of them are really enjoyable."

4. Do you have a lot of electronics at home?
"I wouldn't say a lot, just the usual."

5. What do you think of the new humans?
"I don't know Leon that well, but I think he's alright. He and Haku seem to get along well. Ace, she's my friend and one of the people I trust most." Harper nods. "Her optimism and bravery are contagious, if she ever needs me, I've got her back."

6. Do you like seafood?
"Calamari and shirmp taste great. I'm not too fond of crabs," he shudders, "I just can't eat them, not when they're staring at me with lifeless eyes!"

7. If you could play any instrument perfectly, what would it be?
"The violin! I can play it, but it's nowhere near perfect. Maybe Serenade can give me tips."

The lion turned to look at Lucien and grinned devilishly.

"W-What the hell?" The summoner grabbed at the floating card and tore it in half, but the lion didn't disappear into a puff of smoke. It was still there, eyeing his friends hungrily. The animal let out a deep and rumbling laugh and the summoner felt sick to his stomach.

"I'm going to eat them one by one and it'll be all your fault," the beast crooned.

"We're doing this because we love you son," it was his parents' voices now. "You disobeyed us and so you will be punished."

The summoner swiveled around, but only darkness greeted him. "This isn't funny!" He yelled desperately, "whoever you are, we'll take you down. We're the pride and we've beaten demons..." the last part was barely a whisper and before Lucien could say anything else the lion lunged towards his unsuspecting friends.

You could save them if you were stronger, but you're too weak. The lion's thoughts were meshing with his own. It was still his summon, if he could concentrate hard enough, he could stop it! The summoner screwed his eyes shut and began battling with the taunting voice inside his head. The lion let out several protesting snarls but had stopped in it's path, just a few feet away from where the rest of the pride were chatting.

He cracked open an eye and scowled. Get the hell away from my friends...

The lion bared it's teeth cockily and it was a battle for control. The animal's thoughts went quiet and Lucien wondered if he had won. "Hey! Hey! Run now!" No one heard him and a sickening laughter filled his head.

"Kid, you and I, we're light years apart." The lion leaped forward with jaws wide open and sunk its teeth into Dylan's neck. It rained red and when Lucien raised both his hands, they were covered in blood. Lucien couldn't say anything, he stared at his stained hands, eyes the size of pinpricks and knees shaking like jelly.

"His blood is on your hands." It was the same mocking voice, the lion was laughing. "It's your fault."

The world tilted and the man fell to his knees, it felt like his eyes were burning. Lucien didn't notice but tears were streaming down his cheeks as he stared at his friend's lifeless body. There was so much red.

The lights flickered off and when they turned on again Moira and Syed were seated on park bench, talking.

"It's time for round two, let's see if you can save them, Lucy."

The girl recoiled and found her back pressed up against a tree.

That bear hadn't been there earlier, it hadn't been there at all and last she checked, bears didn't appear out of thin air. It approached, letting out a growl and 15-year-old Xan found herself petrified. She made a run for it, nearly tripping over her own feet. "Dad?!" The forest that had once been filled with the chirping of birds and steady flow of the stream was now filled with nothing but silence, even the wind had ceased to blow. "Is anyone there?" The girl continued running as fast as she could, hopping over bushes and even wading past the stream.

She didn't know if the bear was still following her, but she didn't stop to look back either.

"Xan, are you alright? You look like you've seen a ghost." She crashed into her dad, bewildered by his sudden appearance. Just a few moments ago, there had been nothing in front of her.

"D-Dad?" The girl spluttered. "I-I saw you back there, but you disappeared." The girl began rambling about running into an angry bear and the man in front of her gave her an affectionate pat on the head. She was comforted by his presence, but his soft voice grew distorted and soon he didn't sound like her father at all.

"What do you say we play a game of cat and mouse, Xan?"

"What?" The girl looked up and suddenly, his kind smile turned into a sadistic grin. The figure in front of her vanished into thin air once more. Xan spun around to run only to bump into a grinning bear. The girl let out a surprised yelp before falling onto her back. Suddenly, she felt like she was being crushed and the bear's warm breath made her want to choke. It pressed its claws into her left shoulder and bared its teeth. A tingling feeling ran down her arm and back followed by a searing pain.

There would be no one there to hear Xan scream.
Yush after Harper and Inadi, it'll be Jasper's turn :3
