Life can be...just wow. Lessons learned from my hiatus: it's ok to be vulnerable with those you care about, the people who love you will always remain in your life and be true to what you want.

It was a bitter cold day in the suburb of Mahwah, New Jersey, which meant that most were indoors where one could find heat from the oppressive winter that had gripped most of the tri-state area. Snow was in the forecast starting tomorrow and communities were bracing for what the meteorologists were calling the worst snowstorm the northeast has EVER seen. Norman snorted at the thought. He had lived in the northeast for all of his thirty four years on the earth and from what experience had taught him, disaster was usually never in the cards. People would inflate their discourse with hyperbolic phrases and utilize rhetoric to ensure that small talk stayed alive, but actual disaster, endangerment of life? No, that didn't happen very often, and when it did, it was unexpected. But enough about that. Norman's dark blue irises found what they had been directed to look for just a few minutes ago: an elevator in this maze of a mall. There was a new shopping mecca that had been erected just last week and it's doors remained open to the public even with the prognostication of doom and destruction. The mall was bustling with people dodging in and out of stores, the whole spectrum of emotion both visible and audible. All Norman was concerned with, however, was purchasing new dress shoes for work. He was on his feet most of the day, teaching his students the merits of Shelley's Frankenstein and Emerson's Transcendental movement, so his footwear tended to wear out. Heh. Wear out. Cause he wears...shoes... He laughed slightly at his terrible pun, arriving at the elevator, the doors sliding open to allow the denizens of the metallic cubicle to exit and for Norman, the lone passenger, to enter. The doors slid closed, Norman turning around to note the well decorated interior: faux wood varnishing was complimented by an obsidian colored metal that had advertisements for other portions of the mall. He was surprised to see that the typical glass encasing was not at the rear of the elevator, but he supposed that those who designed the supermall knew that if the glass broke and someone tumbled to their grisly doom, they would have the pants sued off of them. Smart move. The elevator went up one floor before the doors slid open once more, a woman entering. He gave her a polite smile before staring ahead. As the elevator ascended, Norman began to absent-mindedly tap h... There was a jarring halt to the elevator's ascension, the lights in the elevator growing dim. "So much for a smooth opening for this place."
Howdy! The name is Joe and here are a few things I like to say before getting down to the good stuff: -I've been threading for about 10 years now and love a great story filled with action, adventure, romance and depth -I currently teach full time, go to grad school and have a family, so please bear with me! -I WILL post once a day, if not more, but I do have a number of priorities that naturally take me away. I do post at LEAST two to three paragraphs per post, so hopefully length will satisfy :) -I like keeping my threads at PG-13, so instead of describing graphic scenes, I tend to do before/after or fade to black. The only reason I put 18+ is because I don't feel comfortable threading with anyone below 18...I know, it's weird, but I teach teenagers, so please understand xD -I really enjoy plotting with my partners, so please don't be afraid to tell me your ideas! They're awesome! I want to hear them! -Messenger can be a finicky for me, so I prefer to talk over PM With. All. That. Said.... Below are some of the ideas/fandoms that I've been itching to thread. Shoot me a PM if anything interests you and we'll go from there! Feudal Japan(fantasy): Sasami Myakashi is a disgraced samurai who disregarded the ways of Bushido and advocates a new way of thinking among the Samurai that involves balance, mercy and justice over glory in battle. No one knows how Sasami adopted these odd notions nor do they care, the small clan that he once proudly served with exiling him and branding him a traitor. As the exiled samurai dwells in a lonely forest, a glowing green light appears in the woods and floods the entire area, blinding him. The light disappears, instead replaced by the body of a young woman with unique marks upon her arms that glowed with the same green light he had just seen. Who was she? (I'm looking for someone to play the young woman who I can give more detail about over PM/messenger) Medieval(fantasy, again xD): An elvish lad named Nuvyen finds himself on the run from a former illicit association he had held with a criminal organization. The assassin sent to take his life finds him at the inn and is ready to take his life when suddenly the inn is besieged by mysterious figures with flowing robes that have odd symbols on them. The figures attack the duo and upon their defeat, disappear into vapor, a sudden shriek filling the air along with their disappearance. Something tells both assassin and elf that the worst is yet to come. (Looking for assassin!) Modern day: I'd love to get a thrilling spy thread going. It would revolve around conspiracies in Eastern Europe/Asia and feature a whole lot of spy shenanigans. I'm really not into the whole "guns-blazing" approach because that's done too often. I much prefer sneaking around and being clandestine. Medieval/Fantasy: I wouldn't mind going on an epic medieval adventure in which the land is threatened by an overpowering threat and our characters are thrust together due to circumstance to combat the evil that will swallow the whole land. Post-Apoc: Norman Bisqwell is an English teacher who teaches in the city of Mahwah, New Jersey. He and a female stranger are in a large shopping mall headed up in an elevator. The power goes out and the strangers work together to get out of the elevator and survive the now chaotic mall filled with people fleeing the walkers that are making their way through the complex. They escape and try to find safe haven for themselves and others. Fandoms: Mass effect Dragon Age Resident evil
I really enjoy reading other player's experiences...not only because it's very cool to see that there are tons of players out there, but that a lot of us had to go through growing pains in order to get to where we are now xD. Does anyone remember MSN groups? That's where I got started. I was a part of several different MSN groups wherein most of my threads dealt with my male character instantly falling in love with the female character...also, I may or may not have imbued my characters with powers that essentially were the same xD. Once MSN groups collapsed, I joined two roleplay sites via Proboards and had a ball with a very awesome buddy, even helping in the creation of a site. I stepped away for personal reasons and upon returning to a desire for roleplaying, I found the guild about 2 years before "guildfall"(is that the official term?) and have stuck with it ever since.

Bump... OF DOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM
Ok, so I'm(like a lot of you on this site) a GIGANTIC Resident Evil nerd. I've beaten 1-6 multiple times and thoroughly enjoy the intensity of the series. I do not presume I know better than the writers of the series and give full credit to Capcom for creating a fantastic franchise. But can't we all agree on one thing? Resident Evil 6 was disappointing. Which is why, with your help, we can create a beautiful storyline filled with horror, drama, intensity, action and romance all wrapped up in a wonderfully morbid package. Specifically, I want to create a story within the universe of RE6(world falling apart, zombies everywhere, etc.) I have a few ideas about pairings which I will list below for your viewing pleasure. I really want to collaborate with my partners, so please feel free to tell me your ideas because they're awesome :) Note: All pairings deal with OC's Pairings/scenarios: Covert operative x covert operative: Both operatives are given the task by the BSAA(or some other organization dedicated to eliminating bio-terrorism) of infiltrating an Eastern European compound that is suspected to contain information on stopping the outbreak. The mission morphs into a disastrous failure and the operatives attempt to not only escape the carnage, but figure out why they were sent on the faulty mission and uncover the truth. College student x Nurse A college student and a nurse find themselves stuck in a mall elevator when power goes out and zombies run amuck in New York City. The duo must manage to find a way to escape and help each other not only survive, but to discover a safe haven for themselves and others. PM me with any ideas!

Hello all! It's been a while since I've been here due to life changes, but it feels good to be back and I'm itching to start synthesizing some stupendous creative material with you! (yes, that alliteration was on purpose xD)

A few things:
-I'm a male and I'm way more comfortable playing male characters than playing female. However, I have played female characters before and I feel like I do an ok job of it. If the plot is super amazing, I can try writing a female character, but again, much more comfortable playing male
-Please please please don't feel like you can't share your ideas. I love collaborating with my roleplaying partners to come up with great material.
-I have a lot going on in terms of life(good things thankfully!), so I can only post once or twice a day, but expect paragraph upon paragraph! My post lengths will hopefully make up for a lack of frequency. (usual post length: four paragraphs)

Here are some ideas that have been floating around my noggin:
-I'd love to get a thrilling spy thread going. It would revolve around conspiracies in Eastern Europe/Asia and feature a whole lot of spy shenanigans. I'm really not into the whole "guns-blazing" approach because that's done too often. I much prefer sneaking around and being clandestine.
-I wouldn't mind going on an epic medieval adventure in which the land is threatened by an overpowering threat and our characters are thrust together due to circumstance to combat the evil that will swallow the whole land.
-I'm a gigantic Resident Evil(games) nerd, so any original stories in that fandom would be super awesome.

Anyhow, just PM me with your ideas/suggestions/quips and we can get this rolling :D
Hello all! My name is Joe and I'm rejoining the forum after many a life change(profession, marriage...you know how it is xD). I've been feeling the urge to write again and I can't think of a better way to get all the creativity out rather than joining up with you fine folks for some good ol fashioned character development.

See you all around!
