Life can be...just wow. Lessons learned from my hiatus: it's ok to be vulnerable with those you care about, the people who love you will always remain in your life and be true to what you want.

Going to do that in my next post :)
"Why do I have lingering doubts in my mind as to your distaste in the openness of windows?" Yerbol chuckled as he folded his arms across his expansive chest, looking from the potential window of opportunity to Aria, who seemed to be almost nervous at his presence. If she was trying to escape, she was doing a poor job of it. While Master Shan had warned her not to try and leave, Aria more than likely had power that could enable her to quickly flee the planet and rejoin her Sith brethren. Was she that intimidated by what the Masters had said or was she terrified of what lay in store for her on her return to Korriban? Surely her own Masters could see through her lies if she chose to go that route. The avenue of self preservation was clearly paved by the Jedi Masters, yet was she doubting herself? Maybe trying to run away and hide. Such behavior from someone who had earlier in the day tried to eviscerate him was odd, yet refreshing. This one moment had made Aria a bit more human in his eyes. He smiled.
"I wasn't asleep. Master Shan and I had been discussing some details about Lysa. It was nice to know that she had believed in my sister, even to the end of her life." His eyes averted Aria's for a brief second, not wanting to shake salt over the already open wound. He shifted his weight in the frame, standing straight up.
"I ah...well, I guess I want to get this out of the way now." He stepped forward a couple of inches.
"You've got every reason to try and escape. Honestly, if I really wanted to give into the burning anger that threatens to encompass me every time I think of Lysa's cold body in that tomb, I would want to end your life in this room. So we both don't want to do this, to be..." He swallowed hard, forcing out the words:
"Partners in this endeavor, but it looks like we're going to have to put aside whatever differences we may have with each other's orders or our own personal lives for the good of the galaxy." He blew out a sigh.
"If we can get through this, figure out whatever threat is being posed to the galaxy this time around and come back alive, then I feel that Lysa's death wouldn't have been in vain." He extended his hand, a flash of a smile coming across his face before it disappeared.
"So we're agreed, then? Partners till we figure this out?"
Haha, no worries! I'm a high school teacher, so you guys are my heroes and I salute your Exodus from work! Go enjoy yourself
Ha, no worries! Love it. Will post tomorrow, seeing as I got back from a trip today :)
Hey, sorry for the delay in posting, but yesterday was nutty.

Also, the noises don't have to come from Aria's room, just throwing that out there in case you wanted to throw in something random xD
"The Jedi keep their word, Aria. No harm will befall you after completing this operation for us and we will ensure that your travel arrangements are discrete." The Masters rose after Shan's attempt at comforting the acolyte, Syo telling the duo:
"We expect to hear a decision from you tomorrow. At the moment, it is almost nightfall. There are quarters just down the hall for the both of you. We will meet you in Hangar 52 tomorrow morning so you can inform us on your course of action." His gaze locked with Aria's.
"And if you decide to make an escape attempt, understand that the entire Republic base knows that you're on site. Either face the entire force of the Republic here on Taris or attempt to survive in the Rakghoul infested ruins of the planet. Your call." As they departed, Master Shan projected her voice into Yerbol's mind, telling him:
"Meet me in an hour in the Ambassador's quarters. We will discuss more in private." Yerbol sat back, head tilted upward. He would have a chance to express his concerns to her, thankfully. Speaking of concerns...
"You know, you could easily escape if you wanted to. I'm sure of it. I think you're going to stick around because you want the kind of power this operation could give you." He looked over at her, his eyes searching hers.
"And that's what terrifies me. To be corrupted by beings made up of pure darkness...I don't know if I even want to go through with this." A smirk came across his face.
"But that's what I do. Face dangerous opponents for the good of the galaxy and whatnot. You should try it sometime. Rather thrilling." With that, he left the room, eager to meet with Master Shan.

"And you had known? This whole time?"
"Of course. I wasn't at liberty to tell you because your sister had been hunting for the True Sith for quite some time. I wanted to see she could succeed in her mission or turn back. I thought..." Master Shan looked away from the Knight opposite her, eyes cast down.
"I thought she would turn back to us after pursuing this. Lysa was a good woman, a fine Jedi in her own right, but needed to see the galaxy for herself. I believed it would be best for her to leave us, but to think she went to Korriban, to fall that far..."
"Master, no one could control Lysa. You know that. But to not her brother, who could've helped?"
"You're helping now. You weren't needed then."
"Needed? Master, that was my sister!"
"The Force guides events very differently from what we perceive as 'correct' or 'logical'. Yes, it would have been correct for you to try and help her, but how much help would you have actually given her? Through Lysa's discovery, we have the ability now to find a race of beings that could spell the end of the Sith forever. Without Lysa, we couldn't have done this. You have the chance to redeem your sister's memory by pursuing this in the right frame of mind." Yerbol grit his teeth, wanting to lash out verbally at the pragmatism Master Shan was exhibiting, but there was a part of him that knew she was right. Lysa had gone about this the wrong way, but Yerbol could do his sister proud.
"I just...I just need time to process this."
"Of course. We'll see you in the morning."

Yerbol clambered up the stairs to the hallway where he and the Masters convened with Aria. He took a step forward, then heard a grating noise from the end of the hallway, a squeak following, then silence. Odd...

Hey, so sorry about the delay in posting, but this week has been SUPER busy :/
He wanted to refute Cam's assertion, that Avery wouldn't willingly send the duo into peril, but still...it would make sense if Avery had told the truth about this mystery liquid. Who else would have access, let alone the intelligence to build a tightly guarded compound with the limited resources available during this time frame? The plated armor that Connor had mentioned brought back memories of the attack on Omega, the assailants garbed in what could be considered similar bearings. They had been after Cam, they had wanted the box with the information...it did make sense. So they were hoarding resources for themselves, determining the fate of essentially the entire world and not caring about the collateral damage they did through their "all powerful" decision making processes. They needed to be stopped no matter what the cost.

Cam was right. They couldn't trust Avery, not after omitting that the Harbingers was just a perverse label for what her former colleagues called themselves now. Did she willingly thrust them into danger, fully aware that the Harbingers would find Omega? Did Omega represent a threat to Avery's settlement, which could have been a Harbinger training compound? He grit his teeth, lips pursing as he nodded at her plan of action.
"No, no, you're right, Cam. A lot more is goin on that we need to figure out ASAP." He examined the room before looking underneath the table, squatting down to discover a shelf with a number of rolled up pieces of paper. They had taken their packs and weapons upon entering, so pilfering the potential intelligence would be hazardous. Better to wait for an opportunity.

A rush of wind flew through the room as Connor opened the door, slamming it against the wall as he pointed a finger at the duo.
"You led them here, didn't you?" His hand quickly withdrew a small revolver from the folds of his coat, brandishing it with a wild look in his eye.
"Wait, what? Led wh-"
"Who do you think?" Connor hissed. From the only window on the southern side of the room, sounds of gunfire crackled in the distance, a few screams accompanying the symphony.
"We made sure we weren't followed, did everything we could. Believe me, if the Harbingers are here, they're going to want us dead too." Connor's eyes lit up.
"Oh? Is that so? Why don't I hand you over to them, then? Make it easier on us, use you as a bargaining chip?"
"That really want you to do? You understand that you've put up resistance against them and I've seen their work. They take no prisoners. If you give us over, they'll kill all of you in the most brutal way possible. Let us help you fight them off, then we leave, no questions asked." A rumble from outside. Justin ran to the window to find a large truck with a covered bed that had a ceiling of at least eight feet. The truck stopped as gunfire assailed it, armored figures filtering out of the back, withdrawing assault rifles before returning fire. Connor had come alongside the scout and seeing the carnage, muttered:
"Fine. Weapons are through the other door."
So give me till tomorrow...feeling like my next post is going to be a long one xD
Syo's shoulders rolled back, his lips parting in what was sure to be a vehement defamation of Aria's defiant nature. Not a moment too soon, Satele glanced at her compatriot, raising her brow. Their gazes met, a few beats of silence passing before Syo shook his head, sinking back into the chair, allowing Satele to speak:
"True enough. We are aware that the Sith have radical approaches to interrogation, but what you are not familiar with are some of the more...invasive procedures we resort to in difficult cases such as yourself. Of course, why discuss torture when I'm giving you a chance to escape the entire system that would squash you under it's heel given the chance. Just think about what would happen if we allowed you to return to Korriban. You would be a disgrace to whatever Master you're serving now. Captured by a Jedi and then released? How worthless do you think your Master will see you as? You couldn't even be useful to the 'weak' Jedi Order, implicating you as a frail vessel, one who could never survive at the Academy. You would be cannon fodder for your rivals, who would have ascended past you in the social order while you were in captivity and would leave you in the dust. Fate would more than likely have you executed or exiled, if your Master was feeling a bit of mercy that day. If not, you could be sent on a suicidal task of redemption which would end in an excruciating death at the hands of some vicious creature awaiting you in one of the tombs. So our methods may not intimidate you, but I would hope our offer of escape would prove enticing." Yerbol suppressed the urge to smile, knowing full well that Master Shan was usually never this subversive unless she absolutely had to be. It was refreshing to see the Masters use the fears of their enemies against them rather than assail them with endless proverbs from the Jedi writings.

Although it was satisfying to hear Master Shan's tactful response, something nagged at him, something that Aria had said. Yerbol had been on several high priority missions involving discretion and secrecy, but this...this seemed to be out of his league. There were other Jedi more capable than he that were more qualified. He wanted to voice his objection, but dared not at this juncture. Once the air had been cleared, he would approach Master Shan and inquire privately as to why he was chosen. But for now...

"Master Shan speaks the truth." Syo smirked as he continued:
"Being captured by the Jedi makes you look like a poor excuse of a Sith."
