Hmm, I moderately disagree with Free on one point. I don't mind some hopelessness, some truly insurmountable challenges. but all in moderation.

A boss? It was unique. But I'd hardly call it a boss. Hell, I would hardly call it top tier. It's known as the Amorphous Demon because that's it's species name. There are many types of demons. But I do believe it sets the tone quite nicely, don't you think? A certain level of... Despair. Danger. A certain sense of chaos erupting well beyond your control, where survival must take priority. It is in these dark times where you true character must be shown. Will you save yourself? Or will you save some stranger? I give you this choice. Pray that I don't make the choice for you.

The odds were never in your favor, Free. If by divine protection someone could try to board up those windows before the others get wise, otherwise you're in quite a pickle. Just a taste of your future.

I don't have the excuse of intoxication this time. This is simply me, so let me put it plainly:That Amorphous Demon wasn't alone. There are more and they are coming to the Infirmary.

The odds were never stacked in your favor. Do you think a thousand was merely a statistic, something that you can just write off like it was nothing? Everyone matters, even the nameless NPC's. We simply gave your the pretense of hope and mild incompetence to make you think for yourselves. But no more lies, no more masks, just the reality of the situation. No gods, no masters.

And I should. I've played the merciful, big barking dog for quite sometime. Some may even see me as a mere comic relief, here for your amusement. A joke, a jester, a 'jape in jammies.I forgot that this attack on the college is suppose to be more than just a showcase of the teacher's powers. It should be a taste of how everyone is to the demonic threat. Some would try to ease the adventurers into the story with the pretense that there is bigger things out there they need to grow stronger to face. But I was never one to make up such half-faced lies. No, what I should do, should have done a long time ago, is show them what sort of threat they're facing, and just how far we need to go to stop it. Right now each of you need to use teamwork and the fullest of your abilities to take down one, maybe two demons. There are thousands more, each of equal or greater strength. It's time to show how small you are in this big world.
