Well, that took more time than I was hoping it would. Not the best post from me to say the least, but this whole computer issue on my end hasn't made things any easier. Do let me know if anything needs revising or anything else of that sort.
Fascinated eyes of blue glanced into the morning sky above, admiring a fanciful descent of the first to fall before her eager presence. This pure white feather gently landed upon her open palm, minding its own until reaching a safe arrival in human hands. With only the trees around her as witness to such a simple yet peculiar acceptance, Liza followed along without a worry. Not even the sudden shift of a hand to harpy talons did her intent waver at the unexpected sight. A feather just wasn't dangerous by itself, even if that did lead to the unintended transformation of her left hand.

Attempting to comprehend the possibility, Liza continued to stare, determined to discover a clue. Her futile attempts left only a palm full of frost in its delicate wake, the dissolving feather leaving behind an icy residue. Questioning nature itself, she walked along with added motivation, seeking out another. Not that this happening again was at all possible. Yet, what if trying was good enough to get a second to appear from the sky above. Just like the first, she reached out, welcoming its descent. The proof of change resided before her speculative eyes, impressed by another frosty occurrence.

Amused by the moment of it all, Liza furthured her pursuit at the thought of a third. Curiosity was not one to disappoint, leading to the finding of not only a third, but a fourth, and a fifth, and even more beyond that. Like a well marked trail, these same white feathers were leading the way, falling in a sparkling line for wandering minds to follow. Giving no thought towards any other direction, she walked further ahead, through the thickening trees, nearing in on the entrance to an unfamiliar cavern. To direct her attention to this secluded area of all places was not to be expected, and a deadened trail provided little reassurance outside of venturing inside the darkened confines.

A deep breath preceded a hesitant step inside, all while tightening talons braced for anything to happen. Using only her own perceptive eyes, Liza traversed through the narrowing cavern, searching for something of use. Almost ready to backtrack at a diverging path, a bluish glint caught her by surprise. Closer inspection of this unusual hue revealed the scattering of blue feathers all along the rocky surface surrounding her advancing feet. Each feather gave off a luminescent glow, assisting in the proper direction ahead. With luck on her side, Liza stumbled upon a large chamber, containing three significant eggs resting quietly in an unattended nest. Each one of them had to be as long as the length of her forearm.

Unknowing as to their species, she moved in closer, hovering over in consideration. Not until she found herself at a kneel did she feel more concerned, the ground below cold beneath her knees. What if these eggs had been abandoned or something happened to the mother. And why did Liza feel a strong connection between these eggs and herself? Was it because of this harpy instinct deep within her? Unwilling to keep her talons off, she reached out and touched one of the three, quickly finding the shell frozen cold. This wasn't normal, was it? And what was there to explain about all of this new forming ice spreading from her selected egg. Every inch of rock formation that made up the cavern turned to ice; the nest and eggs included.

Was this all her fault? There was no way possible she had that much control over her talon freeze. The eggs had to be the reason behind this frozen creation. Desiring to figure out a way to reverse the effects, she touched the other two at the same time, one in each palmful of talons. Holding them tightly brought only the shattering of the pair, and the cracking of the weakening cavern floor. Unable to hold herself steady, she shifted a nervous leg to the side, and cracked the ice even further.

There was no use in keeping still, for the ice was well on its way to shattering entirely and giving way on its own. Bracing for the worst, she held the last egg firmly between her arms. A quick gasp led to a blackened freefall into an endless abyss. Wing formation seemed impossible no matter how hard she tried. Left with no choice but to hang on to another cracking egg, facing the inevitable was all that remained. Widening cracks foreboded the inevitable, closed eyes prepared for the unavoidable, and an explosion of light concluded the unimaginable.
Startled out of her wits, Liza's deep blue eyes sprung open, seeking for any sort of a lingering solace. Unwilling to pick herself off the ground, she remained lying down, staring off into the brilliant blue sky. After that ridiculous dream of hers, what were a few minutes more to recover? Besides, wasn't like that comforting summer breeze was any less enjoyable. Having her fill of soaking in the sun for all it was worth, Liza lifted herself upwards in attempt to get a better look of her unfamiliar surroundings. Her bedroom or that cavern was the likeliest of places to awake to, but this place proved to be neither of the two. Part of her couldn't shake the possibility of this being her same dream continued. Let her not forget about the troublesome curiosity that probably led her here. Desiring to forget about how this was possible, she moved towards focusing on where she was and why so many people. She didn't know a single one of them from her initial glances.

Acquiring enough motivation, Liza stood up and brushed herself off. A quick glimpse of her attire proved passable. As far as she could tell, she was wearing some sneakers, a pair of blue jeans, a plain white t-shirt, and a dark grey windbreaker. As for her messy brown hair, that part was pretty much a given. What wasn't certain was whether anyone around here would be of any assistance. One could also wonder the same about those in it for themselves. Either way, surviving reality just got a whole lot more challenging.
Got your PM. :)

Will begin working on Liza's intro Friday or Saturday night. And as long as I continue to have online capability, there will be a completed post from me this weekend.
As for Liza learning how to use a bow and hunt. Both pretty much came from her father's original teachings. Her competitiveness during these outings was brought on by her wishes to outdo her brother, which led her focus towards increasing her own endurance.

@Aeonumbra: Deadland certainly had me interested as well, but it seemed a bit more than I could handle after taking everything into account. I will still be around to read up on the plot nevertheless.
Having already notified kapuchu of my technical difficulties, I am reposting Liza's character sheet with the required addition to her abilities from a back-up forum account. Hopefully my computer problems can be fixed soon, so things can get back to normal and at full speed once more.

➣ Name: Liza Hunter
➣ Gender: Female
➣ Age: 22

➣ Appearance:

➣ Shifter Appearance:

➣ Abilities:
Liza may not be the quickest with her feet, or have the most agile of bodies, but she does make up a significant portion of the difference with her formidable endurance. Though not one to typically go hunting, her accurate shot with a bow has been developed through other practical means. Also has a sharp eye when it comes to scoping out her surroundings.

➣ Powers:
~Palm Frost~
By physical contact with a hand to any surface, deposits of white ice can develop in the form of frost. Soft rime is the least dense and can be controlled unaided by the harpy or gryphon influence while in human form. Their appearance closely resembles that of white ice, which is feathery or spiky. This type is fragile and can be easily shaken off an object. Hard rime formation can be controlled while in human form, but is not guaranteed to produce desired results every time. In exchange for less reliability, these formations are difficult to shake off and have a comb-like resemblance.

~Talon Freeze~
By physical contact with Liza's harpy talons to any surface, thickened deposits of clear ice can develop. Unlike the previous, human hands are incapable of doing so and can be dangerous to localized extremities if attempted. This type of transparent ice can cling tenaciously to an object due to its dense structure. It isn't out of the realm of possibility to pull out a harpy talon without a full transformation taking place, but that would most likely require some sort of emotional distress.

~Hail Feather~
This type of ice formation can only be done while in flight. The coverage of these hail stones is directly related to the length of Liza's overall wingspan. Descending from the sky beneath her feathery wings, these stones will continue to fall until her wings finally grow fatigued. This is quite a temporary feat and is safely dealt with in short bursts as a precautionary measure against losing flight endurance. Flying tired is very dangerous and can result in undesired crash landings. The stones can vary in size, depending on speed, concentration, and endurance.

~IciQuills~
Launching a few of these piercing icicles through the air can be quite the dangerous combination. Around two to six of these at one time seems fair enough to contend with, unless one happens to be at the receiving end of them. This one is left primarily for the shifted; no humans permissible under most circumstances. Even if such an occurrence were possible, a human such as Liza would find only a single IciQuill feasible using her limited capabilities.

➣ Background:
On December 28, during a chilly winter snowfall, another miracle of life had been born in an all too familiar Manhattan hospital. For the Hunter family, they had been graced with a daughter all to their own. Liza, her lifelong name would be, from that day forth. This was not the first of the Hunter children, for a son also arrived from within these same hospital walls three years prior, by the name of Eli. With relatively successful parents living in an opportunistic city as New York, life appeared routine as ever, from the outside; for the time being that was.

Early days of childhood for Liza brought along playful memories and important lessons that were to be expected for an outgoing sibling. Sure, dealing with a brother always proved to be an adventure in itself. Son picking on daughter, daughter picking on son; wouldn’t have it any other way, though her parents didn’t always approve of such behavior. Those moments would ultimately resolve themselves throughout the passing of time, leading into her inevitable years of youth. Wasn’t as if elementary, middle, or even high school were even close to a bad experience. Not with so many friends around to keep her from going astray.

When not studying, there was always time for videogames, reading, and competitive archery. Maybe sometimes there was a little less studying than desired, but for a teenager like her, everything had its personal priority. There was even a soft spot to be had for all things mythological. What else could explain the reasoning behind gaining the curiosity of a few friends and starting up a private club for their own interests. She did get to go to a few conventions along the way, which were an absolute thrill to visit. Cosplay wasn’t entirely out of the realm of possibility, but just don’t go asking for too many details.

While the younger years of her life appeared to only be a mild precursor to the harsh reality of adulthood, a career path was necessary to move along successfully. With her mother as an accountant and her father as foreman for a construction company, she just couldn’t pick anything without being considerate to the consequences of her own decision. Even her older brother continued defending his country, serving in the Air Force. Determined as ever, Liza chose her own path, wishing to obtain her own Bachelor of Arts degree. With a goal set in sight and less than a year left to complete the course, everything appeared to be on track. Although, that was all about to change, for the Christmas holiday desired otherwise.

Not even a single morning after Christmas Eve did something go seriously awry. While her mind remained within its nightly dreamscape, physical changes were already taking shape as feathers poked out from her skin, only hinting of what dawn were to bring. With the arrival of morning, several white feathers were spotted upon her bed sheets, along with an itchy feeling along her skin. Unable to figure out where they had originated from, she sought out the bathroom mirror. First glances appeared entirely normal, if not for that peculiar white hair of hers. Liza could only run her fingers through the discolored strands, nervous for her own health.

How was this even possible? Was someone playing a trick on her? As her hands shook in response, a strong stretching sensation ran through the length of her hands to the tips of her fingers. Finding no relief, she held her palms to her face, staring in disbelief as they continued to morph. Talons at the end of her fingers? Feathers along her wrists? What the hell was going on? Losing grip with what was happening; she began to shiver, feeling uncomfortable at the sight of losing her own humanity. Leaning over the bathroom sink, she braced herself for another dramatic change as growing white wings sprouted from her shoulder blades and a bluish tint coated her bare skin. There was little she could do to control herself as her body finished a complete transformation.

Gaining enough courage to look upon her strange and elegant reflection, the realization hit amongst all of her confusion. There was absolutely nowhere else she could hide, but in her own room. She certainly couldn’t tell any member of her family. They would think her as insane. Letting her parents see their own daughter was out of the question. Calling the government on her was too much of a fearful notion. One could call Liza overly paranoid, but her beloved parents didn’t need to know the details just yet; not when she understood little about what she was herself. In all honesty, the overbearing government was far more intimidating than she was ready to handle.

As an understanding soon formed in her mind as to what she might really be, the remainder of the day consisted of a reversion to human form, a delayed opening of presents, and an immense amount of research about shifters. Of course, none could ever imitate the gift she awoke to. The days continued to pass on by as Liza sought after a return to normalcy.

The months leading up until that very day of April 25th, 2020, Liza approached her brother, seeking advice from an experienced mind. Topics of survival, medical, and self defense training were often discussed and demonstrated in every personal session. Finding a growing confidence, hints were dropped along the way, periodically, leaving her brother to question the presence of solid ice patches upon various surfaces and shattered fragments of ice scattered about with no natural explanation. With the pieces fitting into place as they may, Eli found his curiosity peaking surrounding his sister, behind seeing eyes. Not until Liza’s unexplainable harpy form was spotted in all of its deceptive elegance did he approach the unmistakable truth ahead.

This was it, the 24th of April, the day her brother would realize why she had entrusted him to teach her without government involvement. Neither turning away, Liza provided her own explanations as to everything that had gone on since the holidays, and her heartfelt wishes to remain undiscovered. A day of acceptance this day ultimately proved to be, from one family member that was. Now what would her parents think of her, if finally told? Did that also mean the government was on to her as well, now that her secret was out? That was alright wasn’t it, being of potential assistance to a greater cause? But what if the morning of April 25th was not the beginning of the greater fight Liza originally had in mind?

➣ Personality:
Liza has always been one with an ambitious mind, willing to take the chances to understand the world around her, even if reality doesn’t make any sense in the very end. That alone isn't enough to convince her own resilient nature to give up on herself. Although uncommon, she has no problems with using that sharp tongue of hers in an undesired situation. It is because of this same motivational drive that prevents her from simply realizing when to let something truly be, which can prove to be far more detrimental in some cases. Call her impulsive and maybe headstrong, but her passionate heart will never fade from sight even through the roughest of times. If one can look past her general inexperience, she has the potential to become a resourceful friend.
