Believe they're just saying that, for this roleplay, the average, will eventually become the extraordinary. So it'd be better for the development of the plot if the characters would grow with it. Using yourself as a template is a great way to get personal, but you must remember sometimes the scenarios you experienced aren't always the best fit for the role your attempting to play. :)
