【Personality】
Ai used to be bitter, but has released most of that. It would be a shock to anyone who knew her before. She's still particularly sore about clans, however, and won't hesitate to condemn them. Other than that one area of particular hate, Ai is a free spirit, wanting to experience all life has to offer. Her one goal in life is to be happy, and she'll go the ends of the world to do so. Even to the point of occasional selfishness. More than once Ai's been on a detour for the scenic route. New and interesting sights always grab her attention in particular. While new jutsu she's never seen before is interesting, its more travel that grabs Ai's attention.

Ai's happiness is something she tries to make as contagious as possible. While she's going to smile and enjoy things reguardless, Ai believes its easier to be happy when everyone in the room is sharing one. Because of that, she tries her best to get those around her in a good mood. A generous gift giver, Ai has a rather creepy habit of keeping a diary of people's likes and dislikes. And updates it... constantly. Because of that, she's also surprisingly good with names. It's an ability she's been working on constantly, as she used to be horrible with it.

Ai is also highly religious, having served as a Miko for a period. Getting on her good side is easy, talk about religion, and your good. She's often prayerful, and fills out Ofunda full of wishes constantly.

Despite her quirks, Ai is a highly effective ninja. She is protective of her comrades, and assists them to fulfill whatever task they have. Her memory and unassuming nature has made her great on many infiltration missions. She does, however, have one type of mission she point blank will refuse. Despite her great skill with barriers, Ai will never volunteer to serve in a barrier corps in any capacity.

【History】
The term, the greater the light, the greater the shadow often applies in the Shinobi world, at least it certainly did in the Kouken family. The Kouken family has been prestigious in the Hidden Stone as a barrier nin family for generations, even creating a Hiden to increase their abilities with barriers. It was a great honor to be in the clan, and the heir was given much time and honor in order to preserve its prestige. Kazue was the heir's younger sister, growing up in her sisters shadow.

Still, the two got along fabulously. They understood eachother with mere glances, and Ayame was Kazue's role model from birth, she wanted to be just like her... only she couldn't. She was always treated like just a replacement if anything was to happen to her sister. Kazue couldn't stand it. She was just a shadow. Her skills really didn't matter, nor her opinion, or anything else. Except to Ayame. Ayame always had time for her younger sister.

When Kazue was eight, she recieved the clan's 'honorable' hiden. It was the worst month in her life. Where everyone doted over Ayame in the clan when she got her implants, no one but her parents and Ayame really cared.

When it came to skills, Kazue was a natural, able to learn techniques quickly, and keep pace with her elder sister, even without the special training. She even showed an unnatural aptitude for temporal and spacial understanding. Not that it mattered. Still, her sister was her friend, until one incident. Kazue approached the training field like normal, but hadn't noticed the new barrier Ayame had created for an offensive technique. Caught between it, it crushed Kazue, in more ways than one. She was recovering for months. Honestly, she felt like this was a breaking point. She now covered her arms to hide the scars across them, and gave Ayame dirty looks everytime she passed.

What's worse was the elder's blamed her for her sister's refusal to use several clan jutsu after the training incidents, and that made things hell. Kazue was alone for years after this, wanting to break free from her sister's shadow. Her chance came in an unusual way as she was sent to a mission with her father. It was a simple one, to create a barrier around the village Jinchuuriki while the proper people calmed him down. This left alot of free time, and a lot of yelling between the two about living up to the clan's hiden. Kazue responded with a kunai to her own arm, literally ripping out one of the many rods in her arm. It proved to be a poor decision as moments later, the area they were guarding exploded, and it sent Kazue flying. In the chaos following the results of the mission, Kazue wasn't found. She was declared dead that mission.

Shortly, a shrine couple found a grievously injured girl in the country side following this, and nursed her back to health. It was fortunate that the miko had trained in medical jutsu precisely to help people. She healed the girl without hesitation, and removed the strange twisted metal in her hands and arms following the blast. It was no easy feat for the girl to recover, taking six months before she could walk and use her hands. She kept trying hard to regain their use, giving it everything she had. The girl had a new problem though. She wanted Kazue Kouken to stay dead in the blast. Without her hiden, she could really start over. She took the name Ai Kabe, and began to be a shrine maiden for several months. She did her best to repay the couple, working hard with chores around the area. She became like an adopted grandchild. And Ai was happy. No one really expected how she was suppose to live one way or another, and the elderly couple could only be happy as she opened up about her dreams for the first time, and would often help her sort her ideals out. It made Ai want to see the world, to travel. And if she'd wanted to, she could. She was free to do whatever she wanted.

There was a pang of guilt though. Despite Ai being happier than she'd ever been, her family though her dead. While she was alright with most of it, she remembered how awful her sister felt after injuring her. But if she let the clan know, they might push to declare her a missing nin, especially because they thought she still had the hiden. The debate raged within Ai for quite some time. Eventually she did write a single letter to her sister, without a return address.

"I'm fine. Keep it a secret though, I prefer a new life." ~Kazue's Ghost.

A week later, Ai's life took another turn. A rogue nin fleeing from the Hidden Stone sought refuge from the shrine... and several hostages. With the couple's lives in danger, Ai fought for the first time in a year. She quickly found out none of her jutsu would work. None only did she no longer have her hiden, the twisted metal following the blast had damaged her chakra network. Still, Ai couldn't let them come to any harm, and fought with taijutsu for nearly an hour against the rogue nin, eventually chasing him off with more tenacity than skill. She was badly injured. Though she was quickly healed, it made her realize, she could still do good as a ninja. Her skills could still protect people. She didn't have to be a ninja because she was born into it, she could be one because she wanted to be.

Training for months, Ai found away around her lack of jutsu. Storing chakra in seals slowly, she could create jutsu that way. Within a few months, she was able enough she figured to try. Her fingers were now quicker than ever, and her jutsu, while odd, worked. It was time for the more nerve racking task... to write the Tsuchikage. She sent a letter to the Tsuchikage, explaining the situation as best she could. She asked if she could return to the Hidden Stone. She also asked for a favor, if Kazue Kouken could stay dead on the books. To her surprise, he agreed, and Ai returned to the village, and was quickly assigned a team. After a few months, she was even considered a candidate for jonin...

Also during this time, she would reconnect with Ayame, though she warned her upon seeing her(through a hug), the first time.

"Kazue is dead. I just want you to know that. But... well... some bonds are thicker than blood."

Description:
Implanting chakra conductive metal into their bodies along their bones, with nodes at their joints, the Kouken clan have created a style where they can project barriers directly from their body for both offensive and defensive purposes. These metallic implants are attuned to an individual's chakra beforehand and are covered with seals that allow them to sap chakra to generate more metal and grow with the body. Due to their attunement to the user's chakra the body does not reject them or grow sick due to their presence. The metal often greatly increases the chakra control of the user due to its conductivity. Most importantly, the seals inscribed on the metal allow those with the Hiden to immediately translate chakra into barriers without handseals so long as their focus is great enough.

*The metal is non-magnetic, but is conductive.

Effect: Flowing chakra to just the finger tips, Ai's grip increased greatly. She can hold most objects just by one finger with this flow. If she grabs a ninja pouch, she can increase her grip by her fingers, swiping the entire pouch in one swift motion.

Effect: The only way Ai is able to fight is through her collection of seals. She is able to use chakra to control them and cause them to float around her following her hands. The pathway of the tags is controlled by Ai's hands. She has a range limit of about 10 meters. She generally uses the seals in her hands anyways as the floating ones are not nearly as nimble. An opponent could dodge just by following her hands. She can only actively control one seal per hand, with the exception being able to cause several to orbit her.

Effect: Placing a 'purify' seal on an opponent, when the seal activates, it blasts them backwards with their own chakra, causing the chakra used to be disappate. Effect: The user forms a barrier from tag from a seal inscribed, making it into a floating shield. Effect: Causing a line of seals with Tajikarao to spin in an orbit around her, it makes a shield from every horizontal direction (not covering above or below her). Effect: Ai's ultimate technique. She first creates three circles of tags at various axis's. She then rotates them by turning them with her fingers. The tags spin faster and faster until suddenly they disappear. They stay disappeared for one minute. Once they reappear, they return Ai to her starting time. Only Ai is affected. She is returned to the state and location she was, though experience is transfered. This technique consumes half of her chakra, and it can only be used once. It must be set up without disturbance, and will trigger in one minute, reguardless of circumstances. Due to all these factors, it is generally used as a scouting technique in dangerous situations.

If Ego were a currencty, Kaito would be the richest man on the planet. Everything he does is in some way to satisfy his. He loves to crush other people just to show that there is no one more impressive than he. Should someone be stronger, Saito will only peg it down to experience, and dedicate himself to eventually upstaging them. He literally has a list of people he doesn't like, mostly compressed of those who have in some way not bowed before his glamorous power.

Despite his love of himself, in combat, Kaito only has one thing in mind, winning, and winning quickly. He will use every dirty trick in the book to end a fight with as little effort as possible. While not as flashy, it does add to his win ration, and in the end, isn't that all that matters?

Kaito is easily flattered, and will serve whoever has the most silver tongue. He's hesitant about serving a major village, however. He can't shine when a place is literally filled with KG users.

【History】

Born to the humble parents, Kaito was the first person in his family to become a ninja. It was a difficult road for him. In the classroom, he was always forgotten for some star student whose family had been ninjas for generations. The Uchiha, the Senju, the Nara, the Yamanaka.... the list went on and on. His parents barely could afford to keep Kaito enrolled. Kaito decided then he would not ever waste any weaponry. He began to get a name for only ever using one kunai, and for taking extrodinary good care of it.

Kaito had to work extra hard to catch up to other ninja, but doing so allowed him a view from behind none of them had enjoyed, and more importantly, a view of their weaknesses. He noted how few ninjas were adept at genjutsu, and how often they freaked out when confronted with it, and so Kaito knew he had found his forte.

Kaito's anonymity finally worked for his favor in the chunnin exams, where he was able to carry his team largely because no one expected some no name to be a threat. He made it all the way through that year on his first try.

Kaito, however, was unhappy. Despite his success, no one knew who he was. They might mention him as being talented, but the immediately compared it to clan heirs of the same age group. Heirs that he had defeated, head on, (mostly)fair and square! It was infuriating. On one mission, his world changed. Working along side a few Rain nin, the jonin their praised his skills, and his skills alone. That was enough for Kaito. He immediately went rogue and joined the Hidden Rain.

Its been about a year for Kaito, and his ego has enjoyed the small village immensely, becoming a name mentioned much more often than in the Leaf. Being selected to try and become a jonin, Kaito immediately laughed at the exams taking place in the Leaf, and left without a single concern about his status there.

It affects Kaito as much as anyone else, so he needs shelter before using.

Effect: A rather noncombat jutsu, or more specifically, to avoid combat. With a handsign, the user is able to cast a genjutsu with their voice to make themselves appear more agreeable. It puts the victim at ease, and causes them to agree with the user. It is powerful enough that kai will not disrupt it, only pain. Its easy to figure out one is in the genjutsu, however, as one's mind and words will not match up.

And Ai was happy. No one really expected how she was suppose to live one way or another, and the elderly couple could only be happy as she opened up about her dreams for the first time, and would often help her sort her ideals out. It made Ai want to see the world, to travel. And if she'd wanted to, she could. She was free to do whatever she wanted.

There was a pang of guilt though. Despite Ai being happier than she'd ever been, her family though her dead. While she was alright with most of it, she remembered how awful her sister felt after injuring her. But if she let the clan know, they might push to declare her a missing nin, especially because they thought she still had the hiden. The debate raged within Ai for quite some time. Eventually she did write a single letter to her sister, without a return address.

"I'm fine. Keep it a secret though, I prefer a new life." ~Kazue's Ghost.

A week later, Ai's life took another turn. A rogue nin fleeing from the Hidden Stone sought refuge from the shrine... and several hostages. With the couple's lives in danger, Ai fought for the first time in a year. She quickly found out none of her jutsu would work. None only did she no longer have her hiden, the twisted metal following the blast had damaged her chakra network. Still, Ai couldn't let them come to any harm, and fought with taijutsu for nearly an hour against the rogue nin, eventually chasing him off with more tenacity than skill. She was badly injured. Though she was quickly healed, it made her realize, she could still do good as a ninja. Her skills could still protect people. She didn't have to be a ninja because she was born into it, she could be one because she wanted to be.

Training for months, Ai found away around her lack of jutsu. Storing chakra in seals slowly, she could create jutsu that way. Within a few months, she was able enough she figured to try. Her fingers were now quicker than ever, and her jutsu, while odd, worked. It was time for the more nerve racking task... to write the Tsuchikage. She sent a letter to the Tsuchikage, explaining the situation as best she could. She asked if she could return to the Hidden Stone. She also asked for a favor, if Kazue Kouken could stay dead on the books. To her surprise, he agreed, and Ai returned to the village, and was quickly assigned a team. After a few months, she was even considered a candidate for jonin...

Also during this time, she would reconnect with Ayame, though she warned her upon seeing her(through a hug), the first time.

"Kazue is dead. I just want you to know that. But... well... some bonds are thicker than blood."

【Personality】
Ai used to be bitter, but has released most of that. It would be a shock to anyone who knew her before. She's still particularly sore about clans, however, and won't hesitate to condemn them. Other than that one area of particular hate, Ai is a free spirit, wanting to experience all life has to offer. Her one goal in life is to be happy, and she'll go the ends of the world to do so. Even to the point of occasional selfishness. More than once Ai's been on a detour for the scenic route. New and interesting sights always grab her attention in particular. While new jutsu she's never seen before is interesting, its more travel that grabs Ai's attention.

Ai's happiness is something she tries to make as contagious as possible. While she's going to smile and enjoy things reguardless, Ai believes its easier to be happy when everyone in the room is sharing one. Because of that, she tries her best to get those around her in a good mood. A generous gift giver, Ai has a rather creepy habit of keeping a diary of people's likes and dislikes. And updates it... constantly. Because of that, she's also surprisingly good with names. It's an ability she's been working on constantly, as she used to be horrible with it.

Ai is also highly religious, having served as a Miko for a period. Getting on her good side is easy, talk about religion, and your good. She's often prayerful, and fills out Ofunda full of wishes constantly.

Despite her quirks, Ai is a highly effective ninja. She is protective of her comrades, and assists them to fulfill whatever task they have. Her memory and unassuming nature has made her great on many infiltration missions. She does, however, have one type of mission she point blank will refuse. Despite her great skill with barriers, Ai will never volunteer to serve in a barrier corps in any capacity.

【History】
The term, the greater the light, the greater the shadow often applies in the Shinobi world, at least it certainly did in the Kouken family. The Kouken family has been prestigious in the Hidden Stone as a barrier nin family for generations, even creating a Hiden to increase their abilities with barriers. It was a great honor to be in the clan, and the heir was given much time and honor in order to preserve its prestige. Kazue was the heir's younger sister, growing up in her sisters shadow.

Still, the two got along fabulously. They understood eachother with mere glances, and Ayame was Kazue's role model from birth, she wanted to be just like her... only she couldn't. She was always treated like just a replacement if anything was to happen to her sister. Kazue couldn't stand it. She was just a shadow. Her skills really didn't matter, nor her opinion, or anything else. Except to Ayame. Ayame always had time for her younger sister.

When Kazue was eight, she recieved the clan's 'honorable' hiden. It was the worst month in her life. Where everyone doted over Ayame in the clan when she got her implants, no one but her parents and Ayame really cared.

When it came to skills, Kazue was a natural, able to learn techniques quickly, and keep pace with her elder sister, even without the special training. She even showed an unnatural aptitude for temporal and spacial understanding. Not that it mattered. Still, her sister was her friend, until one incident. Kazue approached the training field like normal, but hadn't noticed the new barrier Ayame had created for an offensive technique. Caught between it, it crushed Kazue, in more ways than one. She was recovering for months. Honestly, she felt like this was a breaking point. She now covered her arms to hide the scars across them, and gave Ayame dirty looks everytime she passed.

What's worse was the elder's blamed her for her sister's refusal to use several clan jutsu after the training incidents, and that made things hell. Kazue was alone for years after this, wanting to break free from her sister's shadow. Her chance came in an unusual way as she was sent to a mission with her father. It was a simple one, to create a barrier around the village Jinchuuriki while the proper people calmed him down. This left alot of free time, and a lot of yelling between the two about living up to the clan's hiden. Kazue responded with a kunai to her own arm, literally ripping out one of the many rods in her arm. It proved to be a poor decision as moments later, the area they were guarding exploded, and it sent Kazue flying. In the chaos following the results of the mission, Kazue wasn't found. She was declared dead that mission.

History:

Ryuunosuke was an extremely driven and brash ninja, always wanting to be the best, and to prove himself in battle. He took whatever risk he could if it meant he could show his mettle. His dream was to become famous. His skill was quickly earning

There was one failure however that he could never let go, and forever frustrated him. A chain of missions he came to dub ‘shade’ hunting. A mysterious individual who had mastered seals. Every time Ryuunosuke took one of these missions, he felt like a fool by the end, always falling headfirst into some trap. It made him more determined to catch this shade. His frustration was never ending, and soon he turned to a source he’d never looked to before, to books and scrolls, trying to figure out how he could best the anonymous man. Soon he evaded more and more traps, and he felt like he was coming close to touching The Shade, to meeting him.

Ryuunosuke’s search was put on hold however when the First Shinobi War broke out. He was quickly realizing his dream faster than ever, earning the moniker ‘The Crimson Phoenix’ for his mastery of Cloud Style Flame Beheading with his bo-staff during the war, leaving trails of flames wherever he fought.

However, a fateful turn would occur during the war. After a fierce combat against Leaf Combatants, the cloud forces were encouraged to pursue them. Something felt wrong with it. Ryuunosuke recognized the trap just before it triggered, managing to dodge out the way. Sensing the trap had been triggered, the Uzumaki clan turned, attacking the small force.

Being the only one who could fight, Ryuunosuke turned to face them. He was badly outmatched, and it didn’t take long for them to tag him with a seal to suppress his chakra, to prevent him from casting jutsu. The leader of the group, Kotaro, approached, telling Ryuunosuke it was pointless, as the Uzumaki were the strongest seal users, and he had no way to fight back, his body would break if he tried.

Ryuunosuke welcomed the invitation. In a bid of desperation, he poured his chakra directly into the seal, releasing all the chakra he could muster at Kotaro. The attempt resulted in an explosion, most of the chakra smashed back into his body, damaging his chakra system in the process. As the smoke cleared, the rest of the group moved in, grabbing Kotaro. As they pulled his body back from the smoke, they found his head had been completely seared off.

Ryuunosuke laid panting against a tree from the effort. He stood up again defiantly against the group, knowing he was outmatched. Pouring his chakra into his staff again for his signature technique, he found nothing happening. His body wouldn’t listen. It didn’t even feel like he even HAD chakra.

Then, even as the group got their wits about them a smoke bomb sailed through the air and struck ground right between Ryuunosuke and the enemy shinobi. Ryuu would hear someone land next to him, followed by the man’s voice, “You really got yourself into one hell of a situation,” he whispered even as a fireball sailed through the smoke.

The man, who Ryuunosuke would see was masked and robed, merely raised his blade, allowing the fireball to strike it and then immediately disappear as a result. “We’re getting you out of here alive, and I do mean we the robbed man said, grasping his blade.

Ryuunosuke tried again to flood his staff with chakra, but failed to. He spat at the ground.

“I can’t use any chakra. The crimson phoenix without any flames, I’m not even a ninja right now.”

The man exhaled sharply as he heard the fool’s words, but he didn’t reply right away. Instead, he rushed forwards right into the midst of the Uzumaki, and swung his gilded blade. The first was taken entirely by surprise and it was his undoing, evidenced by the gore, which spilled from his open wound while he fell backwards.

Ryuunosuke’s ally didn’t stop however, instead he jumped onto the man’s body, pushed off of it, whipped his blade out to alter his course, and landed on someone’s head, bending down as he toppled and stabbing a kunai deep into his eye socket.

The robed figure then spun, taking out five men with his great sword in one fell swoop. Another lunged into the opening and placed his hand on the figure’s back. The seal formed, then immediately crumbled even as he swept the man’s legs from beneath him with one leg and then slammed his foot down on his head when he hit the ground.

The remaining shinobi stared at the grey and white clad man, but he wasn’t looking at them. No, he had locked eyes with Ryuunosuke, and as he did he spoke, “Not one jutsu and eight men are dead.”

Ryuunosuke couldn’t help but look in awe. Who was this guy? He felt some natural respect to him, and he didn’t know why exactly. But he was right. There was still a way.

He had his staff, and that was enough.

“Time for a phoenix to be reborn.”

He rushed headfirst into the group. Between the two, the Uzumaki clan had to fled, and not one man of his station had been killed.

Ryuunosuke did pay a price for pushing the seal however. His ninjutsu never came back to him. However, he felt indebted to the man who had saved him, and as long as there was a way, he decided to keep pressing forward.

Without his ninjutsu, he had to learn discretion, he had to learn how to fight intelligently, and began studying even more ardently. He persevered the war, fighting through many important battles as handicapped as he was.

As soon as the war ended, Ryuunosuke disappeared. He was declared missing in action due to respect for his actions rather than rogue.

Ryuunosuke determined he was going to overcome his handicap if he was to be a proper ninja. He travelled and trained for 4 years. He never neglected his studies, and began to notice all the little things of nature, and of small towns. He observed how he and the animals around him moved.

One particular thing eventually inspired him, watching a dragonfly hunt, how it stayed in a point of vision. He grew more intelligent and strong, becoming much stronger than before he lost his jutsu.

As quickly as he had vanished, he reappeared in the Cloud. To his surprise, Genmyou had become the Raikage. To his relief, he gave him a pardon. And so Ryuunosuke resumed his life as a ninja. He was well noted for his observant mind, and eventually became an advisor to the Raikage.

Personality:

Ryuunosuke acts brash and forward, though it belies his methodical nature. He’s, over years, learned to slow down much more than in his younger days. He believes strongly in the saying “Haste makes waste”

Riku didn't move as he concentrated on expanding his sphere of detection, though it did not mean he did not hear the accusation.

"Forgive me for speaking, but doesn't Article 13c state all security measures shall be handled by Kyuuseishu to ensure a safe environment for the meeting? And meeting next to the Totem is in accordance to that how? I do believe I violated the accords second.

More pressing, those arrows were blunt, and not a weapon, more like a detention technique. I shall store them after I have rescued more of the injured. Specifically our genin, that takes priority to me."

Riku's eyes uselessly popped open as he finished Mind's Eye of Kagura. Holding the bow out the hole in the wall, he began a spray of arrows, some flying quite far into the distance. Some he actually had to draw his bow back most of the way. As he fired, he noted there was one signature he could not find.

"I can't find the Sankage. She is beyond my perception, or well hidden."

His bow creaked at the strain of some of his final shots. After a breath, he walked away from the breach, by his mistress, the Mizukage.

"I prefer to think while I act, otherwise, I may be too slow. What are your commands my mistress?"
He made his way to the medic nin nearby, and reached his hand into the quiver by his side. It instantly refilled with arrows. Riku reached in, and grabbed a handful, smelling them.

"Smells like ink."

He undid the seal on them, several people appearing on the ground injured before the surprised medic-nin. Most of them were kids. While Riku had claimed to only be gathering his village's genin, he had gathered many from various villages.

"Hey, that smells like Mifune. How'd you get caught up in the blast? Well, that's alright, it's going to be fine. You're parents here to watch? My, my, that's got to be exciting."

Riku hung around his few rescuees, awaiting further orders from Kikuë.

A firm snarker, Riku has a snide remark for every occasion. No situation is so dire he can't at least drop a one liner about it. In some ways, its rather endearing, as he can be counted on to act the same in any situation.

Riku is brilliant but lazy. He often tries to use his blindness to get out of work when he can, and makes jabs and puns at it constantly. Despite this, if somethings worth putting effort into, he might as well finish it. Like the time he thought he could do a better job as kage, he spent months planning out the assassination attempt.

Born to the cursed Orochi clan, Riku was born blind. It was hardly an issue, as by that point, the clan was well adjusted to their disability. He quickly learned to find his way around by clicking his tongue, and eventually was adjusted enough to play with other kids without issue. He became a ninja even, though reading took him a while longer than most, he mostly recalled the lessons to pass his tests. When he was a genin, he took up the bow and arrow, mostly to laugh at those who made fun of his blindness. He found it pretty funny and ironic,
and surprisingly, became good fairly quickly. Still, he was about average in combat ability, only really excelling at his unusual senses, and his battle tactics which came second hand to him, as he had to have everything lined in his head anyways.

Riku's day changed before the chunnin exams. On a mission he tried to save a beautiful woman from several bandits.
In order to buy time, he unsealed his eyes, trying to buy time. It did indeed paralyze them for 2 whole seconds... all the time he could buy. In that time, he saw that beautiful woman as she escaped. It was like nothing he'd ever seen, literally. Riku swore he would become strong enough to see sights like that everyday from the hospital, and began to work on seals to figure out his dojutsu more. To see if he could make a more specific seal. He also became a huge flirt, hormones kicking in. Riku found his love for woman.

From there, things progressed naturally for him. He easily made chunnin, and his seals became the best in the village, though he never did find a way to strength the seal on his eyes. One thing, however, did bother him. He didn't like the reputation of the Rankage. So many assassination attempts was surely the sign of a bad leader. And what's more, they were performed badly. Riku wanted a shot. So he took one. The attack on the office drew away her guards as they tried too hard to protect her, and were overly sensitive to his shots. In the end he fired himself sealed in an arrow into the office, waiting for them to leave, which they did to secure the area. It was then Riku appeared, attacking the kage herself. He got his ass handed to him, and was left near dead. Before she could strike the final blow, he looked up with a simple question.

"Is it too late to switch sides?"

From that day forth, he worked for her, mostly as a pet at first, but eventually becoming a trusted (if occasionally irritating) adviser. He was spared mostly because of the manner of his attack showed enough intelligence to fool literally ever jonin working for her when he was so young.

Riku, surprisingly, stood quiet throughout the meeting. It was pretty boring, he took most note of the voices he heard. A few of them sounded quite pretty, and he spent much of the meeting imagining what they must look like. His fantasies were broken, much like the room, by the blast erupting. Riku swore, but was covered by the second blast. He stood by his kage; the Rankage's defenses were impressive. He was, in title, her bodyguard, but in practice, it was starting to feel the other way around. Still... There were a lot of things that didn't add up. The Sankage was gone, and there was a beast he could FEEL in the distance more than see, and this Norio had either the worst or best timing he'd ever seen. Riku drew his bow, pulled a single arrow off the quiver on his hip. He held it infront of his nose, almost posing.

"Smells like ink."

He notched and fired it in a second towards the first of his three mysteries, at Norio himself. The arrow had two odd properties. The first was that it was blunt, and the second, why it was blunt, was it was an enclosing sealing arrow. It would seal someone inside it, they would find themselves in a blank room with a seal on the bottom of it. Riku turned towards his master.

"Interesting times? Don't lie, you were just as bored before this as I was, I can hear your heartbeat.

“Well, I'm equal parts your adviser, so here's my advice. There are three roads we can travel. I find our newest guest’s arrival suspicious, I vote we ask on his impeccable timing, already fired an enclosing arrow. You can hate me for being beautiful later. Second route, follow the Sankage, perhaps a kidnapping in the confusion? Perhaps a culprit. Third route, ensure our safety. You check the totem while I seal our students to safety. Well, which path do you decide? You have the eyes. In any case, my path is clear, and I shall work on whatever you direct."

Riku began a series of handsigns, focusing on opening his mind's eye.

He breathed deeply as he concentrated, trusting his master in case of any further explosions. He slowly sought out chakra around him, feeling the kages and guards around him. And then concentrating further as he searched for both the genin, and for the missing Sankage. To see what was alive, hoping the answer to be ‘all the genin’. Despite his speed, he wasn’t fast enough, as debris shot through the house, clearing the table and much of the room. Han’yo leapt to the side, more debris being heard crashing against his defenses outside

“Damnit, I was too flashy, Earth Style Wall is too slow. If I’d known Moving Core, there would have been no damage.”

He found Tōdai in the debris. The boy would live, but it was an unfortunate injury Han’yo would have to be ashamed of not stopping. Han’yo could sense what it was without looking, and he could tell it was over. He began wrapping the injury.

“A bijuu…. Seems I’m not the only one too flashy, building a city around these totems is a bad idea. We are lucky none of us are dead. If it had decided to hit here first, we all would have been. Meirō remember this, ninja are not flashy. Why is this? Because no matter how strong and stylish we may be, we will not measure up to the might of the Bijuu in a straight fight. They surpass us naturally. Yet they are the ones sealed, not us. Our strength, if used right, if subtle, surpasses theirs.
