Bio

(Awesome Gible avatar made by Ridlins)

To-do List:
1. Write a bio
2. Celebrate for finally having written a bio

Hey, my name's Gavin. If you've seen the RP(s) I'm in, you'll know that I name most of my characters that, too. I'd like to say I do it to keep track of them easier or something, but it's really because I'm so bad at coming up with names that I just use my own. I tend to RP with a specific group of people, but if I find the time I'm not opposed to joining other RPs.

I got into roleplaying a while back from a stray Google search. It lead me to a website with a fanfiction written by multiple authors. (Don't judge me too harshly; that's really what I thought it was.) Eventually, I figured out what this "roleplay" concept was. It seemed like a fun idea, so I decided to track down the people who wrote what I had just read and join their current RP. Looking back on it, I'm amazed that my app was (eventually) accepted. I'm not exaggerating when I say that my roleplay/writing skills were absolutely horrible - I was lucky to be able to write a couple sentences per post. If any of you are reading this: thanks for putting up with it back then.

After that RP and its prequel ended, the group I was with moved to this website. I joined (or tried to join) a few of their RPs, but I kept losing interest along the way. There were times where I would get an idea and decide to work on an app, but those never lasted long enough for me to get back into RPing. I stopped making apps, and started checking in on people from time to time because I wanted to keep in contact with them. I eventually realized that it was kind of rude to keep posting on an RP I wasn't in, so I decided not to keep doing that. I checked back here less and less, until I eventually forgot about it.

Until earlier this year last year. A while ago, I remembered the old RPs I had been in and decided to write one of them into a book for myself. I pulled up the old website and started stitching the posts together in my own words into a continuous story, structured more like a book than an RP. I got about a hundred posts in, and that's when I realized that I wanted to RP again. I could tell it was different now; this time I wouldn't get bored halfway through making an app and give up. So, now I'm back. And I don't plan on leaving anytime soon, so you're all stuck with me.

Yeah, I was thinking of it, but it looked like it was too far along, and I only really have time for one. :P
I jolt awake as a hear glass shatter in the room next to me. My clock says 11:12, and I look outside through my window on the fifteenth floor in the middle of the city. They had placed me up here so I wouldn't be able to run away again. The sound of screaming, yelling, and general chaos resonates through the building. I try to get up to see what is going on outside, but my bed sheets are frozen solid. I look around and realize that my entire bed is frozen, along with the floor and wall around it. Seeing my new body, I don't panic or do anything I would be expected to do. Instead, I realize that it's just a dream and go back to sleep. Five minutes later I wake up to the same noises that I heard earlier. My thought process went somewhere along the lines of:
"The world is crazier than usual today.
I must be dreaming.
But I'm not dreaming.
I want hamburgers.
I should probably do something about this."
So, after some struggling with the frozen blankets, I get up out of bed and set out to find hamburgers, but reorganize my priorities before I go out of my room. Eventually it dawns on me that I'm actually not dreaming as I look in the mirror at myself. Instead of seeing a regular human, I see a large dragon staring back at me. "This can't be happening..." I say to myself as I slowly back away from the mirror. "This isn't happening." I hear yelling in the hallway outside my door and turn around, accidentally smashing my tail through the wall and creating a huge hole overlooking most of the city. The footsteps in the hallway are coming closer to my door, and I soon realize that someone is trying to break it down. I wasn't sure I wanted to find out who was on the other side, but my only other escape was through the hole in my wall, fifteen stories above the pavement. Looking in the mirror again, I see this new body does have some advantages as it has wings.

I walk to the edge of what used to be my wall, and look down. I can hear the wind blowing through the city, creatures fighting in the streets, and screaming everywhere. Somehow, this along with a fifteen story drop bothers me less than whoever is trying to knock down my door, so I make my smartest decision all day and jump out of the building. For the first half second, everything seems to slow down. For that single moment it's almost as if I'm just suspended in midair, I don't hear the chaos below, only my own breath. Then reality kicks in and I begin to plummet headfirst toward my doom. Only a second before I hit the ground, my wings instinctively spread out long enough for me to glide/crash into an alley before hitting my head on a brick wall and knocking myself unconscious.
((Wrong RP! Sorry!))
Oh, good, I thought you were months ahead.
So, where is everyone, what are they doing, and can I start from the morning where everyone turned into creatures and then do a personal time skip to the present time?
Yes! I was honestly expecting to have to rewrite that five times, lol.
Lol. I tried not to make it too cliche, but... yeah... :P
*Waits anxiously for Kabling's judgement*
Name: Gavin
Gender: Male
Species: Dragon
Age: 16
Appearance: Gavin's body is for the most part covered with blue scales, except for the yellow scales on his stomach. He is quadrupedal, and has four slightly curved claws on each hand/foot/paw/thing. He has a few ice-blue spikes on his head, and a line of them going from his neck to the end of his tail. His wings have a light blue membrane on them, with similarly colored spikes at the ends. Gavin has a wingspan of about twenty feet while his body is about fifteen feet long from head to tail.
Bio: Gavin was an accident. Well, he doesn't know that for sure, all he knows is that he was found abandoned in an alley when he was only a few months old. There wasn't any note or indication of where his parents were, they had simply left him to the will of anyone who happened to pass by. For this, he resented his parents even though he had no idea where they were. Luckily, he was found and brought to an orphanage which was run by a nice old woman who cared for all the children there as if they were her own. When Gavin was only 5 years old, the lady got very sick and was brought to the hospital. She never returned.
After her disappearance, things went downhill for Gavin. the kind old lady was replaced by someone who obviously didn't want to be there. She was hoping to get a career in acting, although the only job she could manage to find was in this orphanage. An orphanage filled with kids, which she absolutely hated. The woman didn't want anything to do with them, and practically treated them as prisoners. One night when Gavin was about 12, they had forgot to lock his door. Taking advantage of this opportunity, he quietly slipped out of the building and ran. For almost half an hour he could hear people shouting behind him, telling him to slow down, until he eventually lost them. After the panic had subsided, Gavin decided to try sleeping in an alleyway. Much to his dismay, he woke up early in the morning to police flashlights shining in his face.
Before Gavin knew it, he was back doing the same daily routine at his "home". Throughout his remaining years there, he tried multiple times to escape, all ending in failure. These escapades gained him a reputation for being unruly and disobedient, and no one in their right mind would want to adopt someone like that. The chance that Gavin had been waiting for almost his entire life finally came when he woke up to a different world...
Powers: He can fly like most dragons, shoot lightning bolts, and freeze things upon touch.
Weaknesses: He is scared of heights, lightning, and cold temperatures. Gavin doesn't particularly like hot places, with the exception of heat created by lightning. (I know, ice and lightning, a weird combination.) He really doesn't like darkness or silence, and I don't mean just moderately dark, I mean the pitch black, the kind of darkness that will make you go insane if you stay in there too long. If you've experienced darkness like this before, you'll know what I mean.
Other: I'm genuinely amazed that there wasn't anything in the rules to put here...
I might join, but if I do I'll probably stay in the background for the most part. I'm really busy with homework this year...
