Team Scarlet

Scarlet let out a pained whimper as TB’s staff made contact with her already tender wound, but looked to be doing her best not to drop him. She stepped back into the house, red eyes filled with pain, but still didn’t let go.

Reaper’s shadow claws wrapped themselves around the giant tigresses’ front paws, as well as Tank jumping up and beginning to pry her jaws open. Unsure of how to deal with two threats at once, she backed off, allowing TB to escape but quickly succumbing to Reaper’s shadow tentacles tugging against her weight.

Scarlet growled and snarled at Tank, attempting some weak jabs and getting in some scrapes with her claws, but not much else. She was clearly hurting, but doing her best not to show it.

Turn Back, meanwhile, had scrambled to his feet and backed away from the massive beast. Something didn’t feel right. She hadn’t attacked him, per se. And the noise she’d made when he had hit her didn’t sound like an angry one, if Animal Planet were to be believed. Looking at her now, he had a sneaking suspicion that she wasn’t really fighting…

“Step back!” He called to Tank as he rushed forward, trying to shove the huge man behind him. He looked at Scarlett, hopefully out of her range and reached out to the side, dropping his staff with a clatter. He avoided looking her directly in the eye, a tactic he’d learned growing up in the slums; and crouched down. Maybe, just maybe if they tried to show her they weren’t trying to hurt her she’d listen… And if not, Turn Back was pretty sure he could take the hit.

During the fall Levi caught himself, but took some minor injuries, particularly to his abdomen, but he chose to ignore it for now as he was only disoriented at best. Who would have known that wood was an insulator and didn’t get along well with electricity? Levi assimilated the information as much as he could, it seems, or at least looked like Scarlet Shifter was injured by the wound on her shoulder. And what looks like Turn Back putting down his weapons to attempt to alleviate the situation since it seemed like Scarlet Shifter wasn’t intrinsically looking for a fight, it reminded Levi of a cornered animal. Following suite he released, Albeit reluctantly, the clutch of his weapons- Kukris and they dropped on the floor with a pang, raising both his hands at elbow level slightly above his head.

Girard while continuing the grapple realized just in how bad of a shape Scarlet was in noticing very little in the way of resistance. The tigress could have easily done more struggling but wasn’t but the big man held slight reservation about letting her go. He had been trying his hardest to not hurt her further in the meantime, just hold her in place really while avoiding the weak spot on her shoulder, but when Turn Back and Levi both threw weapons away he figured it was for the best and he helped to gently set Scarlet back down. Looking at TB he just hoped the smaller man didn’t end up losing something over this or at least getting a pounding in his newer more vulnerable position, and with that the big man backed away to give them space.

Reaper was far more reluctant to drop her shadows from around the great tiger’s paws, especially as she had tensed with each weak swipe the red and white cat did against her bindings towards Tank. Yet as each of the men of her group became submissive the vigilante just sighed. They already cornered an injured animal and aggravated its wound, why not just make it easy to eat their faces now too? With a little huff Reaper’s fingers unclenched and she dropped her arms to her side, the claws disappearing similarly from around Scarlet’s paws.

After Turn Back had shoved the large vigilante away, the large tigress seemed to stay fairly docile. Slowly standing back up, she glanced around, at TB’s dropped staff, and now Levi’s abandoned Kukris. And slowly, the fur and teeth and claws receded, leaving the red-haired girl in it’s wake, her entire left side drenched in her own blood. She knelt on the floor, a hand over her wound, body shaking.

Turn Back rushed towards the rogue, dropping to his knees and skidding beside her. He reached out to steady the red-haired girl and whispered to her. “I’m sorry, Scarlett. I panicked, I thought you were going to hurt us. I didn’t realize you were just trying to get away.”

Scarlet took in a few shaky breaths, flinching as Turn Back moved to steady her, tensing at his touch but ultimately allowing him to attempt to bandage the wound. She didn’t move to look at him as he apologized. “My powers… nghf.. Activate when I’m angry,” She wheezed, eyelids drooping but snapping open once more. She was clearly struggling to stay awake.

The lithe vigilante pulled off his hoodie, leaving himself in a black shirt underneath; lamenting at the torn hood before ripping it down the front and giving it to Scarlett, trying to make a makeshift bandage for her wound.

Levi had the idea to cauterize the wound with his powers, looking- rather, glaring at Scarlet and her semi-dressed wound, ”The bleeding looks bad, and from personal experience, it’ll get worse and most likely cause an infection.” he stated to her, lifting his left hand to let a short pulse of dull electricity upwards ”I can cauterize the wound, it’ll be extremely painful, but will close the wound and stop infection. Basically I have to burn your skin with my powers.” Levi’s confidence in himself being able to properly do this process hinted at his frequent use of it himself, and possible reason why he made it this far.

The shapeshifter slowly glanced up at Levi. “..Sure.. shoot lightning at my body.. Why don’t you..” She hissed, voice filled to the brim with pain.

“Don’t use a dirty hoodie for that, Turn Back. And don’t offer a painful alternative yet, Lightning Bug,” Reaper finally rumbled, moving around Scarlet in a large circle so as not to approach her from the back. “Do you guys really not carry proper supplies around?” The last part was mostly under her breath even as her hands went under the large hoodie she wore, seeking out something specific amongst the swimming folds. Finally she withdrew a small first aid kit that was pressed against her stomach, already unzipping the bright red cloth and retrieving a moist antiseptic wipe to open.

“Promise not to maul my face off? I’m rather fond of it,” The quip was rather half hearted as Reaper came within striking distance finally, kneeling as well and trying to shoo Turn Back’s hands away so she could start cleaning and dressing the wound.

Girard turned his attention to the rest of the team attempting to fix up Shifter while really having nothing to contribute. It wasn’t that he didn’t know first aid but it would be a stretch to say it was practiced given how hard he was to injure in the first place. What did occur to him was that they should get moving as soon as possible what with all of the noise that just got made if Umbra’’s men were on the way they would have a good idea something was up, plus the mold and trash made for a less than clean place to treat a wound. Of course the little clean up wasn’t going to be enough for something like that and most doctors either wanted nothing to do with supers or the supe in question would get found out soon than later.

“Once you get that done we gotta get moving, I’ll do the carrying if necessary, but all that commotion is gonna bring company but quick.” Tank said from his own personal experience looking a little fidgety.
Girard heard the loud crash and various grunts from what could only have been the floor collapsing under the stress as well as Scarlet along with his team to boot. He could hear noise developing near the doorway which made him rush over only to find TB held by his hoodie by a stupidly large tiger who was trying to fit through the doorway impeded by the man's staff and probably by the others if they had recovered from the fall by now. Something piqued his interest however, why was Scarlet trying to run away with Turn Back in tow? The woman/tigress could have been mauling him but instead chose to try to escape with him which meant something had to be going through her mind, maybe something they could use as leverage. that was up until the man aimed what looked to be a nasty shot straight at what he could see now was a bullet wound and knew using the other man's limited influence probably wasn't going to happen now.

The big man heard Reaper call him into action and he was forming something of a plan in mind as he moved swiftly, for him towards the doorway. With the little speed he could manage the bruiser hopped up past the porch with a big thud next to Scarlet's head as well as the hanging TB who was in some trouble. Looking a bit further he could tell Reaper was up to something seeing shadowy limbs around the front paws which were opening them up trying to cut some of the tigress' balance, he could use that big time.

First move was to pry open Scarlet's jaws enough to get TB out and away by tossing the smaller man so he could land as well as get away from the building if something went wrong which was inevitable. It was then that Girard used the leverage of Reaper to get under Scarlet's front where he starting pushing back and up, shifting a grip to the mid section opposite to her wound, fully intending to flip over the tigress so he could pin her down though preferably not on her wounded side. The claws as well as the struggling wouldn't help if he could get dominant position so he started to use his strength, weight, and straight determination to fight right back against Scarlet's own attempts to dislodge him.

"Back legs. Then get out." Tank said with a calm but strong voice towards his teammates which would clue them in if his plan wasn't entirely obvious by now.

The others were getting one hell of a show of just how strong the big man was, wrestling a massive damn tiger might've made more of an impression than the wall/stage at HQ, but that was the last thing on his mind as the showdown continued. He just hoped the others did what they were going to do quick however they would probably have to make a quick exit because with just Scarlet on the floor in this spot the old building was gonna be having trouble and with both of them nothing good would come of it so the quicker the got out the better. If it came to brass tacks Girard could shield Scarlet from the worst of the debris if she started turning back normal or to something smaller but it all depended on her but one way or the other he was going to make sure she knew the odds one way or the other.
Girard's patrol covered around the building and the two adjacent buildings though he kept his eyes peeled for anyone elsewhere. He just didn't wan to get out of earshot of his team but able to catch anyone odd entering the area before they could cause trouble. Not many people would want to come through this part of town, even the people living there, so if push came to shove and someone came snooping it was going to be for a reason whether innocent or hostile which was something he was prepared to deal with. After doing a loop he was on his way back to the target building when it took but a second to know something was up with the team. For one he could hear from the outside, not distinctly mind you, but a raised voice followed by roaring then accompanied by some loud crackling had some serious implications to him.

And there goes the peace talks. Probably the floor in a moment too. The big guy thought partially disappointed but mostly filled with a bit of a rush with action arriving.

Girard took up a position near to where he could hear the commotion from inside on the ground floor. In this situation less was more when it came to taking down walls and he didn't intend to bust down more than absolutely necessary.
I fear I will be leaving this RP.

You people are great and the RP is fun to read, but so far I feel very out of sync and the ideas for posts and stuff aren't coming to my mind, and with my time getting shorter and shorter thanks to college its a bit hard to spend so much time pondering about what Isa should do next and how she should speak and all that.

You do what you gotta but stop by sometimes so we don't miss you as much.
Aww yeah.
Woo! We got readers!
Girard had a gnawing feeling something was up and it wasn't a good feeling to have considering where they were. He remembered that Scarlet had been injured last that was seen or heard of her, could have made her easier to track for whoever did it, it got him thinking they might've been later than they could have been. Given the silence and the state of the place he didn't see it being more than a temporary hideout but one that would make intruders think twice about entering for fear of injury or possibly sickness from the conditions inside but it was the quiet that had him wondering. Was there something wrong with the rogue if she was still there? It was entirely possible she could have gotten out before them or she might not have had a choice. The big man took a quick breath to steady his mind, they would cross that bridge if they came to it but expecting the worse or at least acknowledging it was all part of preparation. The timing on him calming his mind couldn't have come at a better time when he heard a familiar voice from not far away.

"Has anyone else come?"

Tank turned his head to face Reaper not knowing exactly how she knew there was someone but he might ask later though it was the question following that produced a smile on his face. He would have responded but Sparky showed up in quick succession making a mildly hostile entrance but it didn't last long, they were still missing a couple others but it wouldn't be long he figured. It took a minute or two but sure enough Turn Back made his appearance posing the same question as him and Reaper, because really how in the hell was he expected to get into that wreck without making it worse? Just as the thought entered his mind Gorgon Eyes showed up to complete the group and make a few suggestions some of which the big man was a little opposed too, and he would remember the diplomacy comment later.

"She might still be hurt and since she is being hunted while alone, I think we can get some reason across so it doesn't get bad hopefully. Also I'll keep watch from out here so there is still a building left to search. Better start heading in the rest of you and holler if you need me." Girard said putting in his two cents, and mild humor, before Reaper disappeared using his shadow to enter the building.

That was probably the easiest start to moving around she's had today. He thought wondering if Reaper was going to make a habit of using his shadow like that.

The big man would patrol a little around the mess of a house once the rest of the group went in and hoped for the best, that they could talk Scarlet down before shit got stirred up.
Girard stood up from a crouch taking time wipe the sweat off his brow and a look at the newly refurbished section that just got finished. He was impressed with how much they were getting done around the theater/soon to be HQ because it was starting to look a bit better as they fixed what was possible and tore out what wasn't, even did a little tidying up when a room was done here or there. The big guy had gotten to the place a bit early finding a nice hidden spot for his duffle bag where he kept his get up whenever he got called on by Ditch. It was always the waiting in a situation like this that got to him patient as he was especially since it didn't just concern sticking it to Umbra but keeping some other powered people out of his hands. Sure they were rogues but they deserved the same shot as any of the new vigilante group for getting back up or protection before it was too late.

The morning had been rather uneventful if a little tense after the previous night's news that another big name hero, Hummingbird, was missing which was concerning. The fact that the speedster had managed to get out paced or out done spoke a volume about how well Umbra and his people could operate. Soon enough it would be them on the chopping block and it was not something to be taken lightly but it the meantime they had a damn decent chance of turning it back in favor of the vigilantes before the big showdown. This thought is what kept the doubt away as well as providing the big man with motivation but he really wasn't in need of much. Tank had taken some time to look amongst his materials in his workshop noticing a couple large to moderate sized chunks of the stage that he had nabbed. He figured no one would miss them but they could make for a decent little carving or something later on if he felt inspired, though that had yet to happen.

Girard perked up when he heard his phone which was what he had been waiting for all day so far ready to put some energy into the old plan Ditch had cooked up. In the back of his mind he was hoping Shifter would have the common sense to at least try and hear them out if they got to her quickly enough. Of course that was his optimism speaking for him but he liked the thought better than getting into a scrap with the rogue which he would do if left no choice. Unlike most other vigilantes a massive animal hardly scared him let alone threatened him in a straight up fight but he had to remember he wasn't alone and whether the others realized or not the big guy was responsible for the safety of his team as he saw it. They weren't pushovers any of them in combat but not everyone could take that same kind of hits except maybe Turn Back, but even he had his limits, where as he could keep going. Not like his weaknesses were limited but if it came to a hard physical fight there were only a couple powered people in the city who could match him and he planned to take full advantage of it.

He took a look at the message to see where the meet up was going to go down shortly realizing it wouldn't take him long to get there since it was still in the slums. Having planned for this earlier it only took an excuse of a doctor's appointment to get him on his way, it was a decent enough excuse for Tim who let him go in a hurry. Tank found his way back over to his duffle bag managing to find a secluded spot to get his jacket and helmet on having worn his pants to work so he could save time. Not unlike him to wear camo occasionally anyways so it wouldn't draw attention where as his helmet or jacket were far more distinctive. Once he was ready to move out there was no break or hesitation as Girard made his way over to Francesco Way where the mission would go down. Once he got within sight, around a corner to cover himself, one singular thought stood out as he looked at the building.

How the hell am I supposed to get in there? This place is even more of a rickety dump than the HQ was.

Maybe there would be some humor to gain from him falling through more structures but if the old house's looks were anything to go by he might damn well bring the whole thing down if by some miracle he got past the porch and steps not to mention what he could see/smell on the inside from his position. Oh this felt like a joke intentional or not in retaliation for the stage from Ditch, not that he would put it past the others to have input. For now he would stick to his spot around a corner keeping an eye out for the rest of his allies to get there as he thought about if he should even attempt to get inside or just cover the outside.

"Ridiculous shit this is." Girard mumbled to himself taking his time to survey the area for the moment just to keep his attention away from the mess ahead.
Girard listened to the last bit and bobs of information on the targets and mission before Ditch decided to dismiss them what with the time. He decided on having a quick look around the rest of the theater before he left so he could think of uses for some of the rooms once the place got fixed up since Rose talked about getting a whole crew in the place. Once it was fixed up however he was going to be all over setting up some rooms they might find useful, like a workshop where he could make more of his explosive toys among other things with less risk of trouble if he messed up. There could also be a fitness area that could be made to handle powers decently without falling apart if they were reasonable about it. This was going to be a hell of a project and he was looking forward to making it work for them to make up for taking out a wall. Of course before the big man left the neighborhood he did have a discreet look around having donned his helmet again so he could see about finding any trouble if there was something to worry about. There ended up being nothing to find that worried him but he would likely check it on his outings once in a while but for now he had to get home to tidy up and sleep.

The big man woke up to his rather loud alarm at seven, he slept like a rock so it had become a necessity to his mornings, shifting to find the button quickly before getting himself up from his deceptively reinforced bed. It had been one of his other important projects for comfort because he had tried more than a couple solutions before getting it right for a man of his size and weight. He had a basement apartment that was spacious enough for him, a bit plain but he didn't need anything special, as well as some access to the maintenance room attached the landlord to let him do a bit of hobby building as far as they knew. It wasn't entirely untrue but he made sure to keep his more volatile ideas well hidden while some of the other models/carvings were proudly displayed like the planes or buildings which he had started selling here or there if anyone thought they were worth something. All in all he kept himself busy in his privacy which is how he preferred it because as patient as he was there was always something he ended up doing to fill the gaps.

Girard went through his morning ritual quickly having plans to meet up with his family at his father's diner, Morning Glory, for breakfast and just to enjoy the company. He threw on a plain grey shirt and his jeans/workpants before heading out on foot from his apartment making sure to bring his phone with him knowing his luck with work popping up at the most unexpected times. He lived at a pretty central part of the city so getting around from his place was rather easy not to mention he rarely got tired from his walks some of which were longer than needed. Tank always enjoyed getting a bit of air or taking in the sights of the city and surrounding area though he had yet to find a car or truck that could comfortably handle his weight so it left him to enjoying his walks while they lasted. Not to mention it kept him in excellent shape alongside his other activities which was good all around for the big man because he hated the idea of looking like crap if he could do something about it not that it seemed to carry much weight but he didn't let it get him down. It was a less than eventful walk to his enjoyment preferring not to get Tank mixed with Girard during the day if possible because if it got to a point convincing people he wasn't his 'masked self' would get incredibly difficult very quickly, a struggle he faced on a couple occasions.

The big guy made it to the diner's door after about a half hour walk entering to find his mother and siblings sitting at the counter waiting for him and greeted to the smell of his father cooking in the back. He ended up getting a hug from his mother and sister and gave his brother clasp on his good shoulder and took his seat with them on his stool that he tweaked a little while he got a thumbs up from his father who was determined to finish quickly so he could join them. His power had defined his lifestyle in more than a few ways but it never cut into family time if he could help it with a little persistence as well as ingenuity ad more than a little support from everyone who mattered.

"So how are things you four?" Girard asked a big smile practically etched into his face.

"I'm keeping up my book club well, May is having her big concert recital next weekend and Jerry is getting some attention to his drawings at school." His mom explained subtly making a point of his sister's event after he missed the last one while taking out a criminal's operations at a fishery, not that they knew but he still felt bad.

"Its been alright." His father said casually but a little more neutral than usual.

"Great to hear that. I thought little sis seemed up about something when she called last. You enjoying the drawing Jer?" He said back locking eyes with his father for all of a half second who lightly moved his head towards the back door.

"I'm getting all nervous about it already, the entire school will be watching and I don't want to mess up." May said a little panicky over her impending performance, she never did like crowds but he seemed a little more anxious than usual.

"Lets me be creative. Other guys thinks its a little boring though." Jeremiah said calmly not really seeming phased by the question or his answer.

"May don't worry so much, you know your the best in your grade it'll pan out well once your up there. You seem a little off Jer...something up with those guys?" The big guy said reassuring his sister but mildly concerned with his brother since his arm seemed to attract unwanted attention.

"Nope." The younger brother replied rather abruptly.

"Everyone hungry?" His father called out sounding more enthusiastic than before bringing out the plates in succession.

The family took the time to eat and chat a bit more before Girard and his father managed to get to the back to have a quiet discussion.

"Don't think I need to tell you but the gangs have been moving around the area again but these ones seem more confident than any I've heard of. Seems like Jeremiah and May might have been harassed by them, nothing physical yet but I doubt you need more reason." His father said laying his information on the line knowing full well his son wanted to hear it sooner rather than later.

"Looks like I got some work on my hands. Dad I appreciate you trusting me enough for helping keep all of you safe, I'll have them run out soon as possible." Girard said more than determined to give the offenders the biggest asskicking of their lives for having the gall to come near his family.

"Me and your mother know we can't exactly stop you son, but keep alive for our sakes and your siblings because even if you are Tank your still Girard under that helmet." His father returned giving a firm grip on the shoulder and a weak smile before they both put back on normal expressions and rejoined then rest of the family for a few minutes before his phone started ringing.

He excused himself heading outside the front keeping an eye around him as he pulled out his phone.

"Tim? Yeah sure I can do some work today guessing Frankie dropped like usual, where is this going down? 4315 Racket Ave...yeah sure no problem I'll be there as soon as I can. Need me to pick up anything on the way? Tyler needs some screws huh? Alright be there in a jiffy." The big guy said feeling incredibly awkward about the call but covering it up well in a businesslike tone.

This day just gets better and better doesn't it. He thought sarcastically but not ready to disappoint.

He walked back in and gave a quick goodbye/explanation to his family before heading out towards the HQ knowing a store he could hit up on the way.

It was a longer walk to the old theater than it had been to the diner and his work buddies knew he walked everywhere so it wasn't a surprise when he finally got there with the requested screws in hand still managing to be on time though it turned out Tyler got called off the job so he would just leave the screws with the spares if the did end up needing them anyways. Tank got assigned the hole he made and one of the larger rooms at the back though it was likely he was going to be everywhere, working like a man possessed. It felt extremely weird to him fixing what he knew was the HQ so it made him get even more hyper focused about getting the place in shape. The big guy had something of a reputation for his work ethic and efficiency which is how him and Tim got in contact starting to talk business. He was a freelance guy but he had helped the man more than a few times in a bind because he liked the crew and not to mention they got paid well for the effort they put in.

Glad its during the day, I doubt most of the others will show up here if any. But hopefully all the guys will keep them at a distance hopefully... Girard thought maybe a little uncomfortable with more of the group than necessary knowing what he did for his day job, the irony would end up getting him laughed at likely.
Girard kept en eye around to room at the others in the meantime ready to put out more fires if need be. He noticed Black Rose looked extremely down compared to how she walked in but Turn Back already seemed on it trying to smooth over the situation. It was good to see because the big man would admit he had never been good with the whole comforting thing being a forward and maybe a bit blunt at times, sure he could but words were best left out of it. Then Wraith took the time of day to point out introductions being a thing something that brought with it some awkwardness for the fact that no one had really taken the time to do.

"None taken." He responded with a shrug about to fix the mistake up until Ditch did it briefly except for her own information which he ticked up to brevity rather than trust.

Well there goes that. Useful info though. Girard though tucking the powers and names into his mind for later.

The big guy had a listen to what they were going to do as per Ditch's plan and to him it made perfect sense. Cut off resources and possible allies to Umbra while giving them some extra backup and allies of they're own. Well provided they could catch either Wall Walker or Scarlet Shifter neither of which seemed certain yet given that it might devolve into a scrap even if Umbra's men didn't get in the way provided they could keep pace with them. It took only a moment of thought for him to realize going after someone who could get above him really easily via walking up a damn wall would leave him practically useless. Sure he could blow through walls to keep up but he already did enough property damage on a regular basis only then it had a more direct purpose than just chasing someone, no it wouldn't do for him to put everyone in the shit for it. It seemed like a few volunteers for walker were already popping up and ones who might actually be able to keep pace where as no one had spoken for Shifter yet.

"Seems like a finesse kind of job, think I'll leave that to you guys and go after Shifter." Tank replied casually to Graffiti putting his two cents in.
