Does this roof have railings?

Since this is a bank it's likely they'll have been no expense spent on safety features, but they would be over-insured to the hilt. In other words, no railings.

If you happen to fall of the roof and feel like suing the bank for health and safety they'll actually make a profit out of you though.

Also, how fast could Deimos throw something?

Things like throwing objects and other improvised attacks are covered by how high your Attack rating is, although if you do try something creative I'm likely to have additional status effects applied depending on the outcome.
@knighthawk It was always there, I just wanted you guys to concentrate on the actual roleplaying and fighting than getting too bogged down in the whys and wherefores first.
An interesting point to ponder: how familiar ar we with other meta's? So ar we've been knocking it around old hat like hellboy, but I'm wondering if our group is the exception or the rule? Also I'm wondering if any of our characters want to have a past with each other? Did any of us who are employed take down an indentured and bring them in to be part of this system?

As far as the universe history goes, Metas have been around for about the last thirty years, but the oldest ones kept themselves very quiet and out of sight. Some who used their abilities for their own gain have risen to positions of power in the world, but keep their abilities hidden and their involvement in the metahuman sub-culture a secret.

Within the last five years those with powers have begun to come out of the shadows as younger, more free-spirited metas have discovered their abilities. This has led to a number of highly publicised and globally reported incidents which have brought metas into the public consciousness, with the realisation that gods walk amongst us.

To deal with the public outcry against those with powers the UN sanctioned the creation of the Allied Extra-Governmental Intelligence Service, more commonly known as A.E.G.I.S, whose mission statement is to control and contain metahumans internationally. Ratified by all major nations, and accepted as the utmost authority on the metahuman situation, A.E.G.I.S. have the power to detain without charge any individuals discovered to possess metahuman abilities, no matter what their source.

Initially A.E.G.I.S. operated as an administrative authority, cataloguing metahuman powers for individuals whose talents were mundane and trivial (spoonbenders, people with the ability to see ten seconds into the past, a man capable of identifying any type of cheese from upto a mile away, etc.) but when they started to encounter those whose powers were more of a threat to the general population the need for more rigorous action was deemed necessary.

At that point permission was granted for the formation of the Rapid Assault Tactical Squads, groups of highly trained individuals whose mission was to isolate and contain dangerous metahumans using all necessary force. While at first these squads consisted of government trained agents and military personnel as they came into contact with more metahumans A.E.G.I.S. began to recruit them into the R.A.T.S. as 'mission specialists' for specific tasks.

After noting a far higher success rate for squads containing a metahuman the decision was made to broaden the recruitment policy for the R.A.T.S. so that any individuals with powers which could be useful to A.E.G.I.S. could be offered a place on the team. Heading into the Vault, a highly secured and secret prison complex, A.E.G.I.S. officers offered certain controllable inmates the opportunity to serve humanity in exchange for their freedom, with certain provisions in place to ensure their loyalty.

Currently R.A.T.S. employs over thirty metahumans on a full-time basis, with several more registered as 'consultants' for specific mission assignments. Along with this the Vault houses over fifty metahumans whose abilities and temperaments have been identified as too dangerous to be allowed freedom. Worldwide A.E.G.I.S. is currently monitoring over 7 million metahumans and 'potentials' (0.1% of the world's population) who may someday require them to take action, although the vast majority of these individuals show no signs of becoming a threat any time soon.

Within the last couple of years certain individuals, such as Discord and Thrash, have been approached by an unknown stranger and been granted 'gifts' which have allowed them to become metahumans. Whether this 'stranger' has a wide-scale plan in place or if this is merely random mischief is currently under investigation.
Alrighty will edit, currently ocllabing a history with @General Scales at the moment

Here's some appropriate wording to use to explain the ability on your profile sheet. :)

Void Burst - Energy Cost: 8
Any damage which Void manages to block with his Defense charges him ready to redirect the power. When attacked Void becomes Charged for an equal value to the amount of damage blocked, in the following turn he may choose to expel this stored energy as a healing pulse which restores Health equal to the stored energy for all allies, or causes an attack with an Attack rating equal to the stored energy to all enemies, or to heal himself restoring Health equal to double the stored energy. If the stored energy is not used it quickly dissipates at the end of that turn.

It should end up pretty good by the end of it once we finish.

Should be a good fit, since Psy-Warp creates energy and Void absorbs it. :)
With the deepstalkers penned in between the caltraps and the veilfire Henrietta launched a wave of elemental mines into the middle of the pack, and was swiftly rewarded with a satisfyingly diverse array of explosions which shocked, burnt and froze the beasts all at once.

The pack were panicking now though, and in their terror began leaping through the magical green flames between them and the adventurers. With most of them taken down only a half dozen of so were left, their scales soot-stained and frosted from the elemental detonations the dwarf had set off moments before. Not wanting to attract too much attention, and with her ammunition depleted for the moment, Henrietta quickly slipped into the shifting shadows of the underground passage, taking cover as she quickly began to tinker with her remaining supplies, craft more mines.
Just to check, is the blond-haired girl a different blond-haired girl to BB, so CC now has two girls, Andy and Mundy with her?
So Vaerin could heal others or himself along with the other choices?

If you tweak the ability Void would have three choices as to how to use the stored energy:
  • Attack all enemies for the amount of stored energy each,
  • Heal all the other allies in play for the amount of stored energy each, but not himself,
  • Heal himself for twice the amount of stored energy, but not anyone else.

I'd see this as Void either sending a crashing wave of energy forwards to overcome his enemies, sending a healing wave out around himself to affect his friend, or sucking up the energy into himself and not emitting it at all.

<Action: Stoneskin -3 energy, Armored. If possible, throw grenade for Disoriented 2 direct damage, -2 attack, -2 defense >

Sorry, only one action per round so Brick can either Stone Skin or use the Flash Bang.
Ah okay, so something that somehow hops over his defence would NOT count towards his stacks of Charged?

Correct. Anything like that wouldn't be a direct attack, and would be something like a psychic attack or otherwise affect Void in a way his powers wouldn't be able to protect him against.

Just as a note, if hit with multiple attacks on the turn where Void Burst was activated it's possible for Void to get stacked with even more stored energy. When facing an opponent with a gatling gun, for example, Void might be hit with five strength 4 attacks, none of which would get through his defences but all of which would Charge him, giving a total of 20 stored energy.

The other important thing is when sending the healing pulse Void wouldn't be affected by it himself, since the pulse would be pushing out from his body, not being directed into it.

You could alter the power slightly to give the choice for Void to absorb the energy into himself as a self-heal ability, but the rest of the team wouldn't benefit. Since you went for the Energy cost of 8 for the ability I'd be willing to give a double elf-heal effect if the stored energy was used in this way.
Should make for an interesting fight for us high defense people with such an ability but yay for challenges!

That's kinda what I had planned. So far the defensive players have been racking up a lot of XP and thus should be the opportunity for the damaging characters to make for for lost ground. I expect Rocksmith's gonna be scoring heavily as well, triggering a lot of special abilities.
Okay good, I can work with that. You scared me at first, so what are the limits on his ability so I know?

Basically you're looking at any damage which hits his Defence would either be turned into a healing pulse or a damaging spike, which a strength equal to the amount of damage blocked. Since his Defence is currently 6, if Void was hit by a strength 8 attack he'd take 2 damage and become Charged with 6. In the following turn he could either heal the entire party for 6 Health (for every member of the team) or cause 6 damage to all opponents.

With Discord's attack, since she only causes 1/3 Defence damage Void would get Charged for 2 points, but would still take the 2 point Health loss at the same time.
