Current How metal would it be if I said that I was ironically saying Irony is extremely metal this whole time? I think it would be an unparalleled level of metal, myself.

Niji Yakei - Kumogakure (somewhere in the outskirts)

Just from the distant view they had of the town they were going to, Niji had a feel for just how small and localised the place was, no doubt everyone knew everyone else here unlike in larger villages. Although to be honest she liked the look of the place, it had a... homely feel to it, a kind of vibe she could get used to if she was here long enough.

As they neared the town it seemed busier than she'd expected, the reconstruction even seemed to be coming along rather well. For now she would let Shinichi do whatever talking was needed done, he knew more about who they were going to see than she did, he knew who to see at least. This confirmed by his casual greeting of an aged man known as Kinuta, whom seemed rather laid back too in some respects.

All Niji did for now was follow the man's lead, approaching the cart next to this small bundle of barrels, lifting and shifting was always a nice little exercise at least. "Running errands isn't bad at least, delivering goods is a nice enough task, so long as it's not our only task." She idly commented, already testing one of the barrels for weight before hefting it carefully onto the cart and making sure it was in place, she'd begin repeating the process as much as she could, even Shinichi helping would be better than nothing around here.

(woo, crap post out, Gamer)
Niji was quiet as she observed the map, merely listening to Shinichi as he added and added to the things he had to say. "I wouldn't quite say that, they just happen to be our defining moments in our lives right now... But we're going to change that fact, I'm sure. If you think about it, destruction and rebuilding is just a cycle of life like anything else, it's just more prone to happening with the amount of collateral damage us shinobi can cause if given the right tools."

Thinking of that, she verbally paused as she followed the map. She would have to talk to the Raikage again at some point, perhaps try to gain access to some subduing and binding techniques, that would be good.

Going by the map their journey wouldn't take long at least, but it gave her a enough time to reflect upon what she could do to further improve herself, techniques and physical ability were useful most of the time. But tactics and tools were also very useful, she lacked in three of these four areas

"Really though, seeing the assault on Kumo those years ago, it was a learning experience to show just what others will do for their own cause and for what they believe to be right. The scale of their prejudice against shinobi was... intimidating, yet also admirable that they were willing to fell entire villages for the purpose of trying to protect the civilians who don't have such capabilities. Everyone could use a gun or a sword, but the usage of chakra is for specific people with enough reserves, training and ability to make it into a reality, and some people just aren't capable of that." She suddenly retorted, glancing back towards him afterwards. "Seeing things like that is unavoidable sometimes."

(Sorry for absence, really couldn't motivate myself to write this whole time.)
Kumogatarui Dobustu - What in the world is that thing!?

The mission had gone successfully, it lead to a nice and dearly needed boost to Kumoga's meek confidence, as a matter of fact she was out of the house for the time being with a few of her spiders clinging to her lengthy pigtails. Of course she knew they were there, so it wasn't like they were going to scare her or anything, but funnily enough it lead to some people keeping their distance... Not that she minded, it was nice to be undisturbed as she roamed the village, there were less other genins around due to the exams that were taking place and the Mizukage herself even went to go watch it play out.

There was a tense air around for a moment, like something was about to happen, but Kumoga didn't pick up on it until the entire village was awash with a massive, frightening level of killing intent... She couldn't even make herself turn to run as it weighed down on her, her spiders dropping from her hair and fleeing... All she could do was stand there, practically frozen by the ill will harboured by the unidentified source. The sound of buildings smashing and people screaming were in the distance, just before the beast released it's acid, a large blob of it splashing and melting a building across the street from her.

Why couldn't she move? She had to try and get away before it hit her too, that one blob was close enough to be a danger anyway, but she couldn't make her legs go... Why wasn't she running away? Just why?

There was a small glob of the acidic gunk flying her way, she barely turned her head in time to see it before she found herself grabbed and pulled away into someone's arms, the sudden jerk of motion brought her about her senses for now and she found herself in her father's arms. "F-Father? What is happening!?" Her father, a shinobi of Kiri known as Sasori, shook his head slightly as he began to speak. "I do not know the details, but Kirigakure is under attack... Looked like a giant slug to me."

"A slug? But look at that!" Urgently the little kunoichi pointed at the half-melted building.

"I know... That part makes less sense than the size of the beast itself." The comment earned a confused look from Kumoga. "Think of it as being much bigger than a building." The girl was in awe at that suggestion of size. "There's nothing that big, let alone a slug!"
"Obviously it is no ordinary slug then... We should get back home, it will be safer there." Sasori was quick to take off towards their home, the further from the slug and it's acid the better, although it's corrosive sludge was easily able to reach any corner of the village.

Whilst Kumoga felt brave, she looked back to where it was all originating. "Father... Should we not try to help? Maybe try to slow or restrict this... slug, with our webbing?"

"I dislike the idea, it's body may very well be as acidic as what it's flinging around the village... your mother and I could not allow ourselves, let alone you, to try such a thing." A frown appeared at the rejection of the idea, although he was very correct in his concerns, so she had no real reason to frown like she was. She simply nodded now and they were soon upon the house. Her mother, Cho, flung the door open upon seeing their return and shut it behind them.

"We should be safe for now, it hasn't reached this area of the village with it's attacks yet... Be prepared to escape just in case." Her father was clear in instruction and they started to make preparations for an imminent acid attack... Granted there wasn't much they could do, but having a plan was better than no plan.
Kumogatarui Dobustu - Mission, start!

It was decided now that Kumoga didn't like this woman, determining that one speaking for all meant they had poor teamwork, she would've said otherwise in defence of the three of them but Hatake-sensei returned before she could do as such. She'd just have to internally frown disapprovingly at Origami for now.

Although she did give the paper spider a curious look as it landed on and clung to her shoulder, she only liked her spiders and no one else's, so she wasn't keen on this paper imitation lurking on her shoulder where she could see it... She'd have to put up with that and frown on the inside too, wouldn't she? But no matter, Hatake-sensei had already said it was time to go.

So the girl looked up towards her sensei and gave a nod. "Understood, Hatake-sensei." Was all she had to say as she followed after Tora, they had some prey to capture after all, she had to hurry if Tora claimed they'd be done in five minutes.
Kumogatarui Dobustu

Origami Tsubaki was the one who was going to help them on their mission, she was an impressive woman, but now wasn't the time to think about that when they had to tell her the plan. Kumoga looked to the other two. "Shiratori-san, Fujiwara-san, would either of you like to explain the mission?" She said briefly, gesturing towards Origami as she looked at them, she had said she didn't want to lead, so it was best if she could get one of them to explain instead.
Niji Yakei

Niji's retort to Shinichi was quick as he made a slight joke about her apparently being excited. "Well excuse me for being excited about finally getting to do something aside from training." She at least accepted the map and looked at it briefly. "I mean let's be honest, when was the last time we had a mission?"

With map in hand, and regardless of Shinichi's response to her, Niji would begin leading the walk to the town they were supposed to be helping out.

(Sorry for the tiny post, I've got nothin' to really add right now.)
