Many ages ago, these lands were uninhabitable. Hungry spirits walked the earth, and the dead rose at night to feed on the Souls of the living. The advancing Damned were unstoppable, the greatest among them being former humans who fought well against the dead. As human corpses rose to kill even before the blood had dried, men built walls of stone, dirt, and wood to be trapped within, and they themselves forfeit their Humanity to the truer death of Hollowing.
Brave men went to banish the dead, with blessed blades and fiery hearts, but few ever returned. Even our old King Richard, honored be his name, had went within with the Crusading Knights, and none ever returned.
It is now many years later, and things are looking even more grim. The dead gather to launch one more invasion, to feed an unending hunger for souls. The once vast kingdom of Tutheriah has devolved into fiefdoms led by squabbling nobles. The barbaric peoples of the steppes, hunter-gatherers without the light of our Gods, have drifted into these lands, despoiling and ruining our sacred grounds. And the Church of Thurus has been nearly destroyed by the mass Hollowings of it's own worshippers and priests.
You are an Undead, cursed with the burden of death, yet not granted the dignity of truly dying. The Fiefdom of Lesser Nordland has sent a group of you to die with dignity, in one of it's great "purges" in the streets of the former capital.
This is a Dark/Demon's Souls rp, subject to changes. As you can tell, the setting is not Lordran or Boletaria, but a new location I felt could fit snugly in it's own little pocket in the setting.
