You are just adorable, what with acting like I've never lost a fight when RPing.I mean, I've only said I'm not the "in it to win it" type a few times now, but I suppose when you're being called out on bullshit, you tend to not see things like that. It's ok, Green. This isn't the first time you're going to get called on bullshit. Get used to it.

I did hear you say how you weren't in it to win it, but somehow that point was lost on me when you spent two pages ranting about being blown up. Nice attempt at a retort though, A for effort.

It's almost like he can't detect blatant sarcasm. It was sarcasm, man. I'm 26, not 62.

Hokay. So since you're not interested in sorting the issue out, rather than flailing your arms about dramatically and act like a sore loser (Yes, that's what we call people who go all "I don't even care anymore, whatever, you just won because.. etc), I suppose we'll just close it at that. I don't really feel the need to go out of my way to resolve the issue with someone who can't handle things not going their way. At least not when you make it clear you're not going to stay on subject. This isn't the first time you're going to lose, get used to it.

Yes. Justify. So THAT'S what the kids are calling "Shut up I'm not talking to you anymore" these days.

Are you unable to have a civilized discussion without resorting to petty attempts at belittling whoever you're disagreeing with? "Kids these days"? Putting words in my mouth? Sheeshush, dude. You do know the meaning of the word "justify", right? Because that's what I said. Not something else.
Hey, I don't know about you, but the death of a few thousand NPCs counts as an accomplishment in Genocide's book.

We're at the point of the discussion where I'm not sure what you guys are arguing about anymore. Did you have any issues with the attack? Because Genocide is fucking crazy, and would probably waste a barrage of missiles on a rabbit out in a field if he felt like it. So I'm sticking by that. You guys did read the post though, right? In detail? About how he's not actually aware of the fact that Ysolda and Erde is still alive? That he's required elsewhere? He doesn't care about money. Paradiso is stinking rich. Like, insanely so. 13 trillion is but a drop of water in an ocean of wealth. He's a loose cannon, suicidal bastard. Jesus, you get the picture. If you can justify your character killing himself, I can justify mine blowing up a mecha.
But without a second thought, using a technique that means certain death, from what I can only assume is an escape from a rich and experience filled life without a second thought seems.. illogical.

Genocide, his name should really speak for itself, launched 2400 missiles at a single city, instead of conserving them for the planetary wipe he was ordered to commence. Making the most logical and cost-efficient choices really isn't in his nature. He called himself Genocide, for god sake.
Beta - What in the name of the great old ones are you on about? Your dude took one look at the mecha and decided the only way to defeat it was to kill himself. I decide to sacrifice my mecha (which Edmund is very capable of fighting without) to mash you, and you guys question the tactical value of it? A move that meant a safe and rapid escape. Are you serious?

So let's get it straight;

Ysolda's wants to kill herself to destroy the mecha = Ok.
The mecha self-destructs after it's driver escapes = Lawlmakesnosense.

Huh. Well, as long as we're on the same page.

Why thank you, Green. I definitely enjoyed it too, and I'd be more than happy to fight you into blowing yourself up again if you want. ;)

I'd like that. Got a lot of work coming up right now though, exams and whatnot. When I'm done with that, or if I find sufficient time to spend during it, I'm going to update Mordem and have him go at Arty again. Hopefully without killing myself this time.

Go easy? No. Make the fight fucking entertaining? Yes.Again, I'm not in it to win it. I'm in it for the joy that RPing brings to my otherwise dismal existence. Hence my appreciation for the more cinematic... the artistic flair... the over-the-top... etc. I want a high-tier fight to be like... in FFVII:AC when everyone was fighting Bahamut Sin, or Goku vs Frieza, or Kenpachi Zaraki vs Kaname Tousen... I like the fucking badass moments where cool shit happens... not the "HA YOU LEFT AN OPENING NOW YER DEAD" stuff that you tell me you're all about. But it's too fucking late, man... The moment is passed and I really am rather miffed, if that wasn't obvious.Exactly this. FUCK shit like this.

Do I have to point out that you were about to suicide-bomb the mecha after standing around for three posts while I was fighting LeeRoy? That would have ended just as anti-climatically. No need to be upset just because I beat you to it.

Wait... Really? I was just about to comment on how fantastic YOUR set ups were. Lol. I'm pretty sure that if I hadn't had my armor, that fight would have ended very differently.

I had such a good time doing that fight. It really felt like a challenge. You did marvelously!

I think taking a forum arena battle that seriously isn't exactly healthy.

That's subjective. I only ever get upset when I win, to be honest. I hate winning. I just like a good challenge, and for it to be so, it has to be genuine, that's all.

Hence my appreciation for a more cinematic battle that is both fun to write and to read. As for Ysolda surviving... I really have stopped caring. Your "GRRARGHSUPERSRS" approach and attitude to this thing has utterly killed my drive to even bother. I was going to have her take a longshot and hide inside that groove she was holding onto (as in the picture it is at LEAST fifteen feet wide, given that mech's height, more than enough for her AND her essence armor to fit into) and ride out the blast using your own nuke-proof armor as sort of a sail to ride the shockwave. But frankly, she can die now for all I care.

I don't really know what you're talking about. What attitude? Did you want me to go easy on you? I could totally have done that if you asked me to ahead of time. I don't have any issues with doing a light-hearted fight with more story elements involved, but unless specifically stated ahead of time, I'm going to assume my opponents wants to mash me to a pulp.
Well. If you want to write a cinematic fight where the elements are controlled and the story built-up and exciting; do that.

If you want to challenge your ability to fight, to outwit and outmaneuver others in an awesome mind-game, then do competitive forum battling. I'm not here for your, or anyone elses enjoyment of a good read, I'm here to indulge my own need for a tactical challenge. To seek those who can beat me into the mud, so that I can get back up and surpass them. If you were under any other impression, then I regret to inform you that it was wrong.

Which is not to say that it is not possible to write exciting cinematic fights in such a format; but that you have to be good enough for that to occur. Your opponents will not be holding back, and should not be expected to. Be better than them, show them that every opening they exploit is a carefully laid trap. That every attack you launch, is but a prelude to the next. Be in control, and you will have your cinematic fight.

Edit: Schradinger is good at that, for example. Last time I fought him, he had a response to every move I made, saw every exploit, punished every mistake. And I loved it.
Fights don't usually last very long. The first exploited opening often spells death for the other part, and that's it. Stalemates tend to last for a long time though, way too long.
