Luckily sci-fi is basically extraordinary powers.
Haruk Nhil'olil studied the damp and wet environment of the landscape taking in his surroundings. Haruk made sure to note every cluster of stones in the area and commit them to memory. He marked the best locations in which to cast the spells he had prepared that day, which took him only a few moments. With that done he was already planning his next move. As his challenger had yet to reveal themselves Haruk could only assume he was hiding out and watching.

With his piwafwi and robes concealed from view Haruk cast a simple spell drawing power from the weave, making sure to keep a simple defensive spell in mind if he should need it. The moment the divination spell began the energies of the weave become more attuned to his senses. His eyes now sensitive to magic auras it did not take him long to spot a weak presence of magic some thirteen meters away behind a cluster of rocks.

With no direct sight on his target however he filed away their location as slipped back down the stone face to vanish behind several boulders before seeming to merge with the foliage. If undisturbed and now out of sight Haruk would circle around several other rock formations. His magically enchanted boots producing not so much as a ripple or sound in any puddle of water he slipped across. While his cloak perfectly mimicked his surroundings. All the same he made certain to place as much cover between himself and his target as possible. If the surface human made no move since leaving his own high perch Haruk would stop just 20 feet away behind two larger stone formations. Making sure to put the rising sun behind him.

It was likely the human would become jumpy after losing sight of the drow. His reaction would at least reveal if he was aware of the drow.

So is there only one way of this room we are in?

Kind of wish I had sprung for my female archer.

"No hard SF char?" I'm insulted.

Good.

Also everyone must have missed my Powers > Tech.
A lone human figure hung from his wrist supported by a length of iron chain. The only occupant of damp and dark cell was unarmed and unconscious-- at least at first. The figure began to stir as a single drop of cool water tapped him upon the brow to then run down his face. Like a splash of water the man was slowly raised from his comatose state. Diēscogitō Khan blinked the weariness from his eyes even as he shook the cobwebs from his mind. Confusion was itched on his face as he slowly took in his dark surroundings. The only light coming off from a few wall torches outside of what appeared to be a cell. He tried to move, and then found he could not. He gazed up at his shackled hands and grimaced as a wave of nausea swept through him. Perhaps the after effects of whatever hand rendered him unconscious in the first place.

He quickly took stock of himself; first he had a pounding headache, but thankfully it was slowly receding. His arms along with one of his legs still felt half asleep, they tingled with that odd sensation due to lack of movement. He flexed his arms and the strange tingling intensified for a short time. While they recovered he studied his surroundings. His cell was fairly small, possessing a single stool and a bucket in one corner. Currently Diēscogitō hung from a chain of iron built into the wall above him-- his feet barely touching the ground. He found he could relieve the pressure on his arms by standing on his toes. With a sharp intake of breath he began to pull with all his considerable might on the chains. But they didn’t budge.

Giving up on that he drew his attention to his surroundings once more. His back felt cold and wet against the flagstone wall from the water dripping down from the ceiling. He could see other cells out in the gloom but could not make out their occupants. It was then he heard the distinct sound of keys. Moments later what appeared to be a small girl came to his cell door, offering him a deal he could hardly turn down. Or Believe for that matter. His only answer was a nod.

Diēscogitō rubbed his wrist as he tried to get circulation back into his hands. He stepped from out of the dark cell into the moderately lite hallway and saw others also recently freed. Now in more light he could see he still had his leather vestments, but of course his prized bow was gone. His Draythikon mask was gone, but that was probably for the best. His clan did not have the best reputation to many. With a heavy sigh he cleared his throat, only now realizing how badly he needed a drink of water.

"So...anyone know where we are?" He asked quietly to no one in particular. He did not recognize any of these people, but they seemed to all be in the same boat hopefully some one knew something.
Oh no, it's that time of day Leeroy hates.

Done and done. Now I wait for Beta. And Important. And Drag. And Biddz.

And the Pox.
So not so much a duel then an assassination.

Going to have to go at this differently then.
Snarnorgul's lips curled into a smile as watched the winged humanoid rapidly descend to the earth. He easily marked he fall, and began to charge forward even before she had crashed into the buildings wall. The path was of course abstracted by a building, but it proved no impediment to the tanar'ri. He barreled straight forward smashing into the flaming merchant shop like a living tank or battering ram. Wooden beams and masonry sundered against him, leaving not so much as a bruise on his tough leathery hide. The path he left was that of complete destruction, with the building collapsing on itself just behind him in a torrent of flames. A deadly obstacle had enemy soldiers been in pursuit of him, but he paid no mind to the destruction.

By the time Evvie struck the wall and had landed in the alleyway Snarnorgul had nearly reached the other end of the shop. With a tremendous crashing sound Snarnorgul collided with the brick wall on the other side of where Evvie now lay prone. The collision quickly caused the entire wall to com crumbling down in an avalanche of bricks, motor, and timber. All of it falling straight down on the dragon girl. Worse still the cramped conditions of the alleyway would likely make it difficult to avoid being buried, with one end of the alleyway ending in a dead end, which left a 16 foot sprint to the other end.

If a wall falling on her was not bad enough, Snarnorgul's added weight would likely crush her if not badly injure her. With all the smoke and debris in the air Snarnorgul knew he would have to rely on his sharper senses to pin point the humanoid in the ensuing destruction.

Since Khan characterizes the runes as nature magic, i'd still refer to him as a ranger. I also associate the term witch hunter more with crossbows and guns than with bows. But it's hardly a game-changing matter. :p
