Current I dont write status updates, but if you think an eagle is better than Scotlands Unicorn you're wrong. I'm not even Scottish.

Hey, Just wondering if you were still a go for this one or not? If so did you want to throw up characters here and so forth?
I’m checking to see if there’s any interest in doing a fantasy roleplay that focuses on the Discovery of the New World and the exploration in search of the treasures that are rumoured to be within it. The roleplay would be character-driven, so their motivation can be anything you want as long as it isn’t detrimental to the rest of the cast. I would also be relying partly on you to assist in world-building and would like it if people came in with their own big or small ideas they would like to see incorporated. As for an overall hook, I’m toying with the idea of a multitude of kingdoms hearing rumours of a fountain of youth or some other immortality object existing in the new world. Anyone who finds it would be granted whatever they want in return. That being said, who knows if it even exists.

The approximate setting will be one comparable roughly to the actual discovery of the new world, but with magic relied on instead of gunpowder. As far as using magic I’m going to rely on and introduce some magical items but if you want to whirl fireballs or lightning go for it. So long as whatever magic system you use is consistent and doesn’t solve every problem the group faces immediately I likely won’t have any problems with it. The same goes for races too. Want to be an orc or goblin? Sure. They don’t need to be Tolkien evil entities, at least not all of them and as long as they fit the overall narrative I’m fine with it.

If you have any questions let me know.
I basically have a character made. Regardless of whatever background lore you were going to make I was just going to modify it to fit.

Make the OOC with a sample character so we know what kind of level you're looking for in character depth? I'm still interested in the idea, I'd just like to see slightly more direction in the plot to start off with a foot in the right direction.
This sounds very promising. I'd like to throw my hat into the pile.

What is your approach to magic in the setting? Are the fireballs and such of DnD your basis, or are we free to use other mechanics?
