What else did you expect when you started using the King as one of your characters? xD

Well, I didn't expect an Empire to appear and invade.
I'm going to have to start RPing nations T_T

Are you sure? Are you sure he hasn't already been kidnapped by Vocators?

Uhh, I don't know has he?

Where exactly is the king at this point in time, Spark?

Passing through the Inner gates, en route to the Palace.
I don't often take enough time to research my subject matter, so it's good to have your input.

Also, thanks for the invasion. I really had no idea where that tournament was going when your plans took center stage.

Vocators haven't made their strike yet. Will when Ellri gives us all a flash.

Oh, I reread and I see. It sounded like you were already giving the signal. I guess I'll just have to spot the vocators early and use it to my advantage. (That's a joke, but if you don't think it's too meta I'll roll with it.)

A. Invasion wasn't expected.
B. One normally has no need to heavily defend a mountain range that is considered impassable.
C. The borders needing defense are elsewhere. That would mean that the best troops would be at those places, not in the capital.
D. There's probably been peace for quite a while, so most peaceful nations would not have a large standing army.
E. They were having a coronation celebration. Most are distracted by that.
F. We'd fully expect the King to have some proper guards with him. Guards with decent training. Those won't be easily defeated.
G. They had a big massive distraction to hide the Army's approach.

Need we go on?

Mind you, if they're too effective later on, when the defenders get a bit more collected, this'll mean Trouble for Thora. She's got absolutely no interest in "re-education" or service to an empress she doesn't know.

These are all true, when they reach the inner wall it will be a more difficult fight.

B. We only have two actually fortresses in the mountains, one is to the east in the largest of the passes (which is incredibly difficult terrain already.) The second is in the south, where Lendrians and Ceranians often travel through.

C. Yes, that would be a small contingent to the south and a sizeable force along the Oragos border to the west where border disputes are common. (Which is why Da-Hyun was seeking Othean aid in a war against Oragos.)

And a note, Amaryth used to be a fortress several hundred years ago. It grew into the capital of Othea, which is why the inner city (and the harbor) are more tactically designed than the sprawling outer sections.

Just to back up Bing sparks with an ooc that can be as active as this (I had to read three pages this morning) it is probably easier to post a new IC post than have to post in the ooc about an edit.

Touche.

I'll work on a post for Sitara, now that the strike on evokers has happened her powers may just reveal themselves if she's not good enough to handle dual vocators. Granted, they're using the same weapons so she'll know how they fight.
For anyone writing a post regarding the Othean military/constabulary at this point, the order is to fall back to the inner walls. Citizens are already being funneled in and the gates are being reinforced, but the outer city will be considered lost shortly.
Bing, once again, you could have edited into your first post.
