There are locations, but I haven't added factions to the map.

Limiting access. I.e. make the docks cover not the entire 8.4km length.

One option is always some sort of cliff or such, but we wouldn't mind ideas from people. Including where to place such, and how much to place it on. While vertical stone walls is possible to do there and would be relatively easy to draw, we'd rather have something less regular and more imaginative. The height is also something we wouldn't mind suggestions for. Anything up to around 130m is ok without too much remodeling. We'd rather also maintain fairly low height near the outer walls. Especially the western wall, where the wall is better drawn.

Oh, and there's a river entering the lake at around 3.6km from the eastern outer wall. That would need taking into account for any cliffs or whatever.

Are there any historical references to draw from? I've never been good with coastal cities, or the like.
@Ellri, the information looks good. I'll read the IC post in a second. When you say "shorten it" do you mean shorten the cities access to the waterfront, by say limiting the size of the docks? And if you make any more quick CS, or add any more ranks, edit them into that message. I'll link it in the OP as "Kalesian Military Ranks & Personnel"

@All Bark, I don't see why not.
I'm afraid of seeing what your military evokers will do, now that I'm thinking of it.
True, this reminds me of the Seanchan invasion of Ebou Dar in the Wheel of Time series.

And the Seanchan invasion of almost everything else in the Wheel of Time.

Not Kalesian style. At least not in this phase.

We're thinking that with how the inner and outer cities are so separated... might be that there's a bit of dislike among the outer city commoners and the powerful folks inside? Would that be ok to work on as a thread?

That could be, if you take into account that this was a transitory period to a new King who was widely admired by the common folks during his years as the Prince. However, I can see how you can still manage to turn them against him.
Genocide?

Flaming oil barrels?

Using peasants as human shields?

'Twas observing monstrous chipmunks in Alida's post-post [signature], when the thought of all the strange combinations of animals in Avatar came to mind, and suddenly wondered, is the world of [insert-the-name-here] consisting of a few such strange hybrids? Twould be a sight indeed.

Azukhar, it's in the OP.

@Alida, it's probably the badger-moles.
No, I guess we're just waiting for the invasion to progress.
