Erika pouted, "Aw, you're not going to fight me~? Darn it, I was so looking forward to getting to unmake a petulant brat..." She whined, stomping her foot childishly.

"Boring. So boring. If you're going to be so boring, get out of my sight before I decide to annihilate you for wasting my breath on nothing." The witch snapped icily, waving her hand about dismissively as if to pass Vech off.
"Flame based, draconic core on which basis is drawn, forced integration of magical energy. Odd variance of the usual fire witch, but still not much that's really special. Also abysmal compatibility with me." Erika chimed, never dropping her childishly joyous tone, "It was all a formality, but nonetheless I had hoped you'd have the common sense to comply. I knew everything about you before you said a word, that's my 'magic', if you were too dense to notice."

Eye of Providence information matrix updated. Midgard Skin active.

"Look, pal, I really don't wanna have to deal with patronizing attitudes and the like, so you can either chat with me like a decent person, ooooor if you want to start a fight, I'm more than happy to oblige. This body hasn't actually done anything since it was made, so I could use an excuse to make it do something."
Eye of Providence active. Extrinsic existence has entered radius of effect.

Analyze. Complete disclosive sketch of existence obtained. Recorded in mind. Cross-written.

"Nyah, seems that someone wants to play, hm~?"

Such were the words of the witch of Control as she crossed her arms behind her head.

Raising her voice, she aimed to address the approaching presence.

"Name, purpose for presence, type of existence. Ten seconds, go. If you attack instead of talking...well, let's not chat about that."
Aw, it's so cute how you're acting like that will work~
Hey,

Hey LaX,

There's magic signatures in the city, you know.

Erika's doing prep time things.

You probably shouldn't let her do that.

Wouldn't it be fun if we had a witch fight?

Wouldn't it~?
Oh, well then that's fine by me.
...oh god. How am I supposed to fuck around and mess with LaX if you're here?
Hey Grey, how've you been~?
Name: Takao Usami

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Race: Witch

Personality: Such a calm mask, lackadaisical and simple. Friendly and outgoing, silver-tongued, never speaking out of turn, never rude or derisive, always so calm and collected until one peels back the skin.

Odd. Such an odd construct.

All too often, words and thoughts are moved into the void. Burned into nothing. Unmade by their own creator, god of its domain. She had no need for them currently. She cannot allow herself to muse for too long, her mind is a place that not even she can bear to stand within for too long.

She sees the world as an assortment of events that she cannot understand, and to that end she has tried to comprehend it with all her ability. Even with knowing of gods, the Truth eludes her. Philosophy, she has read far too much in such a quest, and it has not been enough. The world irks her, the way it eludes her understanding, and to that end she has decided that it does not deserve to be understood.

So many things were false.

If language wants to "speak the language" of illusion, it must become a seduction. As for "speaking the language" of the real, it would not know how to do it...because language is never real. Whenever it appears to be able to designate things, it actually does so by following unreal, elliptic, and ironic paths. Objectivity and truth are metaphoric in language.

Reality is constrained by a lack of reality. Boring. Boring boring boring. So then, let us have a bit of fun. Let us try to find the real.

Others, others are interesting to her. They are not a part of World, they are their own enclosed world. Her mind, her individual world frightens him, so she enjoys looking into the minds of others. It's so very interesting, seeing how they operate.

As she learns how they operate, she learns how the world operates, and from there she moves towards what she considers his purpose. Understanding her own nature.

But now, now we look back to the odd.

Insane. Yes. She is most definitely mad, despite what her exterior might imply. One could say that the outside she puts up is a different sort of Erika, and the inside is not her true self but just a different valence of her. Regardless, she is not an ordinary being.

All the same though, she is rational. She understands and reacts as if to say that the outside Erika is the true core.

Morality, an odd construct and a decidedly human one, but one that she finds endearing all the same. Perhaps that is why she fears the depths of herself, because she worries that she will truly become a monster.

A strange word, monster, but not one that fits her.

A shell with a contradiction at its center. This. Is. Erika- a monstrous girl with a silver tongue- who will observe and observe and observe, calm and psychotic and strangely caring.

She has to go outside herself and into you, after all, or she'd have to go deeper into her mind.

And her mind is such a frightening place.

Appearance: Standing at a sparse 133 centimeters and weighing a mere 34 kg, Erika is best and simply described as a grade schooler in appearance. When not in a predetermined uniform, she dons a pure white robe similar to that a miko would wear, one that adds a sort of dignity to her otherwise diminutive frame. A childish innocence and dark blue hair of a length reasonable for one who appears to be at the age of a child.

Strengths: Excellent crowd control effects, prodigious magical foundation.

Weaknesses: Low offensive potential, limited to "one form" of magic.

Powers:

-Expanded Perception. The capability to use the "mind's eye" to view what could not normally be perceived. Discounts presence concealments, obscurants and the like, as well as making the user have a wider range of perception than they would otherwise. Primarily used to perceive projectiles in time to stop them, and the like, as it's hard to notice an arrow flying at you if you don't have some sort of advance warning.

-Magical Compendium. The magic of "stillness," "stagnation," or simply "not changing." Her magic takes the form of a pale black glow which is "cast" onto anything she desires, physically, spiritually, conceptually, and so on, inundating them with her magical energy and filling their being with this principle. Casting is instantaneous in term of her will. Anything affected by her magic is slowed down in its processes/motions, for instance slowing a projectile's motion through the air, or slowing the air's movement out of the way of the projectile. It is also possible to completely stop something, rather than slowing it down. Unless used on living beings, the magic cost is absurdly low. It has the potential to be cast onto living things, for instance being used to paralyze an enemy, but is difficult to use on living beings unless she has said being's permission. If the being doesn't grant permission, the difficulty of casting scales with the strength of the being. For paying a fixed magic cost on top of the usual casting cost, it becomes possible to make the effect it has on something "permanent," not changing regardless of counter-magics, time passage, and other conditions. However, this permanence effect has a cooldown time, making its use scarce (once per life, for the purposes of this. Resets after each "death"). At its core, this magic is a support ability to hold back and hinder enemies, which works just as well against multiple foes as it does against one.

Equipment: None

History: Born into magecraft, forged and tempered with magecraft, the essence of Erika is rooted in the essence of magic itself.

Though she attended schooling and wore the guise of human, this came secondary to her instruction in the art of her family. Her gift was nurtured and perfected at a young age.

The problem with nurturing the power without ensuring the stability of the mind though, is that the mind can go mad.

So she wondered. She wondered what would occur if she broke the unsaid rules.

Suppose...suppose I were to kill them all.

So she did. Such is all that needs to be said. She was stronger, so she won.

And of course she felt bad, so she thought he could bring them back, could conquer and control life and death in full. But that couldn't happen, no, that was against the rules.

So...so then, she wanted to find a way to make the world better.

"You have power but are disgusted with the world. Do you change the world, or yourself?"

The world. Always the world.

So she would observe and break everything that was. She'll do it all for them, all for you, so the world can improve. Before you can fix a watch, you must pry off the back. Before you can fix the world, you must purge it completely.

She's such a kind person.
Erika stood on the outskirts of Death City, Soul Protect dispelled and leaving the presence of magic heavy in the air.

If they came to her, she would fight, but otherwise she was content to keep to standing behind the veil. Watching them act through her mind's eye, gathering information for later in the game.

Because, all things considered...

-Erika was weak.

Not weak in the sense of winning or losing a fight, that is. She was rather confident there were few on Heaven or Earth who could challenge her, and none who could outright best her. But, if she attempts to simply use raw power, the resulting spells will be no better than average. Utilizing genius intuition and responsiveness, her spell executions, while not so much as powerful, are frighteningly "quick." Her efficiency is comparable to "a car that can run one thousand kilometers on a single liter of gasoline," but all the same in raw magical power she does not stand at the level of the "strongest" witches. The only spell she has in her arsenal which allows her to reach the plane known as "godly" is an arrow bearing the concept of death, and even that has its weaknesses, not to mention being an attack best called a Last Resort.

This was almost never a true issue. Her spells of the first and second layer were designed to achieve the greatest effect with the least amount of magical exertion.

However, it would be a momentary issue for the consideration at hand, because...

"Weeeell, guess the hunting'll be starting up pretty soon. So, just in case they come knocking on my doorstep..."

-She would be casting the second of her third layer spells. A spell that bore a fixed cost, but the cost for which was a full third of her entire magical capacity.

"Goshintai, release the restraint of Amaterasu's Blessing."

Preparations would need to be made for later in the game, after all.
"Funyaa..."

She stood where she had moments earlier.

The Eye of Truth was passively active, as always.

"Ah well, let's watch the party begin. The banquet of insanity to send the world crashing down."

Devil's Projection instantiated. Object: Simple steel blade.

Projected.

The blade formed in her hand, and was promptly swung down, cracking the ground it struck slightly before it was willed out of existence by its creator.

"And I'd better not miss a damn minute."
