Mystvale: A Modern Fairy Tale RP

Sorry for the delay guys, birthday kinda got a little hectic on me. ;3; People kept wanting me to do things outside the horror aaaaaaahhhhh.

Anyway, hoping to start sometime this week. I'll see where everyone is on their CSes before I make a hard decision, though. No rush. Take your time if you're still working and for those waiting, I'll update the relation sheet that miso provided when I get home today!

Start churning ideas. Talk to each other! Come up with some back stories you don't have to rely on just the stories their tied to.

I'm assuming that there are lots of other teachers at the school (and students) - would I be right in doing so?

Are teacher student relationships as taboo/illegal as in the non-magical world? I only ask as most of us are in our twenties anyway so it's not as though there's a child protection issue...

As with any work related relationship, it'd likely be the 'college' kind of taboo. Usually it concerns the teacher giving the student an unfair advantage in class. You're more inclined to give someone an A if they service you in sexual ways. I'm not sure what the term is but it'd be like giving one student extra credit for sucking your dick. That's no fair and probably illegal.

That's why it's okay for two teachers to you know get it on outside of school but if they aren't married by the time one of em gets a promotion (maybe even then) their relationship is watched pretty heavily and in some cases put an end to.

So, while age is out of the question, there are other factors to concern. But, that's what makes these relationships interesting and exhilirating. ;D

Temperature Manipulation (Heat and Cold Resistance) - An odd power to have and one that requires a bit of creativity to use effectively. Percy can manipulate the air around him to heat up or cool down to both extremes. At the moment, he's not really able to increase it to an inhuman amount due to his lack of immunity to both, though he can withstand the heat and cold much more than a regular human. Any object he touches, he has the ability to heat up or cool down, something he can control and withstand much better. His hands are actually able to withstand insane temperatures, more so than his entire body can, meaning it's much easier if he can just touch something to change its temperature, though they aren't completely immune to the effects of heat or cold.

The epitome of never believing in yourself, Percy doesn't quite have that confidence to back up the kind of mind and intelligence he has. Not that Percy is an astounding genius, he's just got the creative will and know how to do quite a bit of things. What drives him away from that could clearly be called a conscious and crippling self-deprecation. Percy tends to think of himself as mediocre, so when the going gets tough, he sits in the middle and twiddles his thumbs because his ideas are dumb and not worth mentioning.

It could be said his introverted attitude and dislike for attention keep him blended in. Honestly, Percy likes to blend in. Standing out scares him, mainly because expectations scare him and suddenly consistency means getting better and better and better. One upping what you've done previously because that's what people want to see. He's afraid to disappoint, so he keeps himself out of the limelight to avoid those kinds of obligations. That often means people don't really notice him and he doesn't really mind. Books, movies, all of the things boxed in with escapism resonate rather well with Percy and if able to choose, he'll go with watching a movie alone rather than hanging out at a party.

Of course, even despite that attitude, Percy tends to think himself a little too good for certain things and often distances himself enough to get out of doing a lot of things. A lot of the time, he'll take group work and just do it by himself. Who does one trust more? Themselves or the people that can fail him? Obviously, Percy's going to take himself over a group of kids he doesn't trust to screw in a fucking light bulb. But, uh, he'll keep those opinions to himself. Ha. Haha.

@YourSecretWeapon Oh, no it's just that usually the character tab is only for accepted characters. I was just wondering if you might have PM'd it to the GM and he/she accepted it. I do that on occasion when I GM things.

If not, then, people throw it up in the OOC tab to be evaluated before popping it in the other tab. ;o Just to make sure it's what the GM's looking for/there aren't any weird issues in it. I know whenever I join anything involving powers, I have to change a few things because they might be too obscure/strong/or just not a good fit—it just makes it easier on the GM. Plus formatting I'm crazy about formatting ha >> << i know i'm ocd about uniformity in presentation ha *cries* it's awful sometimes + makes me look pretentious and a stickler.
