Nah, Robben's foot was on the ground, the defender stepped on his toe, pinning that foot to the ground after he'd already committed to going left and had only that foot on the ground. Maybe - maybe - he could have just caught himself if he'd tried hard, but I don't think he faked being tripped.

It was totally a bullshit call, the trouble is, Mexico walked right into it. *Everybody flops in that situation*. Everybody. Stepping into him and making it a close call was just a panic-button response, and you're always gonna lose one or two of those.

The same guy could have gone down from bad tackles prior to that and didn't - that's the thing, he didn't flop in that situation before. That's why I'm inclined to believe he didn't then.

I only started watching at 60 mins, so I can't comment, but that did seem to be their strategy... as I said earlier, from what I saw, the Netherlands were playing better. Although I've literally just seen the Mexico goal and holy snap, what a goal >_>.

Eh, for me (having seen them all in the highlights) that was the most blatantly a foul. The others were all a little uncertain, and so, rightly, the ref didn't give the penalty. Agree to disagree, no point arguing it now.
