I once found a very interesting Youtube video on the subject, but apparently I never bookmarked it.Hang on, it might take me a minute to find it again...

May have been Vsauce's video "Why don't we all have cancer?" This question reminds me of that.

Anyway, on-topic: I'll answer this question in an equally pseudoscientific and philosophical way tomorrow.

That would be sadism. Specifically deriving pleasure from the suffering of others. Being dominant is more about exercising control over a subject, but there is a respect aspect to it. Otherwise you are just abusing someone and that is never ok.

Aye, Esper, I know the differences all too well. I was only joking
I criticise it a lot, but in comparison to some of the experiences you guys have had, Sex Ed here in the UK is fucking fantastic. It's done a little bit at a time from when you're about 11/12 through to when you're 16 or so, starting with the basics of howmakbabby and ending on some of the deeper emotional stuff, with birth control and STDs in the middle. It was pretty comprehensive; the only area I feel was thoroughly neglected was the topic of rape - though the importance of consent was discussed a lot, there was absolutely nothing on how to deal with rape or sexual abuse, as either the victim or a friend of the victim.

I'm hoping to see it with some friends once I'm (finally) back home again. I'm surprised by how positive the responses have been to it, I was expecting it to be absolutely atrocious.

Sorry, man, I'm used to most peoples reaction on here being more or less one of disgust towards beer or hard liquor. Except, you know, the drinkers.Didn't know you were a drinker?

Oh, believe me, I am.

Wait, aren't you one of those who at one point had posted about how you really don't understand how people like alcohol?

What? No, my attitude towards alcohol is just about the polar opposite of that . If I ever said that it must have been years ago, and even that I think is unlikely as I've enjoyed a drink for a lot longer than that.

Heretic.

No, a woman of taste. Vodka is awful, unless mixed with something else to mask the flavour - and you can't really justify something being good with "you can cover up the shittiness with other things", so vodka is terribad.
