Also, about this 'life' game, I wonder why sometimes you get randomly-generated penalties at the start of the game. Why you do this, devs?

One thing has always puzzled me in SU. When they fight the Gem monsters, they say they are corrupted. What corrupts them? We have seen at least with the Centipeetle that it used to look like the Gems we've seen so far. (Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, Lapis, Peridot, Jasper, Rose)

Attacked the Crystal Gems because they found a mirror that could show events from the past and didn't know that the thing on the back was a person, broke Greg's leg, attacked Lion and the Crystal Gems...again, tried to drown Steven and Connie, told Homeworld about the existance of Crystal Gems, and willingly fused with Jasper. Even though it was to trap her, she could've said no. They were next to an ocean, and it would've been Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, Lion, (Steven seemed pretty tired) and possibly Lapis versus Jasper. There was no real reason to fuse with Jasper to win.
Is there anything she has done that is redeemable?
Lapis.
Pearl is honestly my 2nd least favorite Gem. It has been shown that she doesn't think of Steven as himself, but as Rose, multiple times, which I don't like. I wouldn't like people thinking of me not as myself but as my mother's child. Also, she does a lot of things against the wishes of those it directly effects (Like trying to take Steven into space even though there is a 100% chance of Steven either dying in the explosion of run-down ship or suffocating in space if he survives that, his dad didn't want him to do it, he didn't want to do it, and Pearl took him anyway)
