I propose my alternative solution: Bullets. Lots and lots of bullets.

Seconded.
"WRECKED!" Gren finished off the rest of the robots using his unique chainsaw blade. Kuhaku would have to remember that attack and he filed that bit of information away in his mind. Though, he was curious as to what Gren named his weapon. Smiling, Kuhaku stood straight and leaned the shaft of his Great Axe against his shoulder. Looking carefully at the wreckage at his feet, he made his way over to Gren. Occasionally kicking at the metal scrap to double-check if all the robots were indeed 'terminated'. Once sure that all of the rust-buckets were taken care of, he stood grinning in front of Gren and raised a hand.

"Whoo! That was a one-two knockout punch! We actually did it! Perfect teamwork, high-five partner!" he cheered, eyes bright and still glowing blue. Then, he froze.

With his Semblance still active, he quickly lowered his hand and whirled around, detecting something with his heightened senses. His ears were picking up voices. Ears furiously twitching, he raised his head and sniffed at the air. He smelled something...living, not like the robots they had just finished off. More enemies or were they allies? Frowning, the scent in the air lingered of metal and oil, tampering with his nose. Kuhaku cast Gren an anxious sideways glance as he put away his God Eater.

"Kuhaku, I hear something this way. It may be others, or perhaps the location of our artifact. Let us trend carefully nonetheless." Gren said as he walked towards the noise.

Ears perking, he nodded and jogged up to Gren's side. "I'll keep my Semblance active for now just in case we may run into more enemies." As he continued to walk alongside Gren, his Axe broke down and disassembled itself back into his sword and shield. Sheathing his sword into his shield and slinging his shield onto his back, he reached up with his gloved hands and pulled the hood of his cowl over his head. With his face darkened by his hood, his eyes gleaming underneath them still, he turned to face Gren. "I'm going to scout ahead since I'm lighter, faster, and quieter than you. I'll try and report back if I can, if I find something. I'll be within the shadows. Oh, and Gren?"

He stopped walking, but his glowing blue eyes continued to follow Gren, "Do you mind if we talk about something after this test is over? There's something that's bugging me..." leaving Gren those words, he swiftly sped past him and vanished into the darkness, disappearing from sight as he sought out the source of the voices...

Friggin writers block...

Well, since you're heading in the direction of Gren and Kuhaku, it should be easy to find them from all the noise that they're making. Kuhaku did just let out a roar and made a big bang with his axe.

Maybe make some kind of post related to that?
Kuhaku turned his focus from the advancing robots over to Gren and slightly tilted his head in curiosity. His Semblance didn't seem to affect Gren noticeably or at all, even. Strange. Was there something wrong with Kuhaku? He frowned as he mulled over what could've gone wrong but then refocused on the ever-nearing robots. As Gren tore through a straggler, he gave Kuhaku the answer he needed, "I'm ready when you are!"

Grinning, Kuhaku took his sword and began to smack the front of his shield with it, the metal clanging and clanking loudly as he did. As he made his racket, the eight or so robots were now completely focused on solely Kuhaku, either ignoring Gren or having completely forgot about him. "These robots aren't too bright, it seems" he thought. With the robots advancing ever-slowly towards him, Kuhaku stopped his banging and punched downward with his shield, digging its edge into the ground. He then released his shield to remain in the ground and hid behind it. Swapping his sword into his left hand, he reached into his pocket with his right and pulled out..

A blue vial of Dust.

Smirking, he stabbed his sword into the ground and inserted the dust vial into a small hollow in its spine. Immediately accepting the ammunition, the sword's spine separated and slid back and then returned forward to its original position. Chambering the dust vial within itself. Removing the sword, Kuhaku's glowing blue eyes peered over the top of his shield just in time for a robot to swing at him. Ducking, he quickly grabbed his shield and removed it from the ground to raise it in time to block the attack. The metal fist bouncing off the face of the shield with another metal clanging. Kuhaku braced himself and kept his shield up as the robots were upon him, close enough to swing their mechanical arms at him. "I've only got a few of those rounds, better use them sparingly..." he thought as he withstood the robots' attacks.

Standing his ground, he waited until all of them surrounded him to within a few feet. Their fists and his shield clashing loudly and even sparking a few times. Eyes peering from left to right and back from over the top of his shield, he had the robots' full attention and they were finally close enough. Their individual swings not enough to budge Kuhaku, they all raised their arms at the same time in the hopes that a concentrated attack would bring him down. Giving Kuhaku the perfect moment for his counter. Quickly rearing his shield back, he swung his left arm wide and hard. Smashing his shield across the bodies of the robots and throwing their attack off balance, giving him the few seconds he needed for his next move.

Sheathing his sword into his shield, he removed the combined weapon from his left arm and grabbed the handle of the blade. Swinging it behind him, the weapon rapidly disassembled and reassembled itself into his Great Axe. Announcing the finish of its assembly with a hiss of air, Kuhaku grinned at the robots who were beginning to reorient themselves. Axe reared back, he tightened his grip as he slowly lifted a single finger. With an audible cha-chunk, the Axe had loaded the vial of dust from before. The robots looked at each other, confused for what was coming next. Kuhaku yelled out to Gren.

"Coming your way!" and his finger pulled the hidden trigger within the handle of the Axe.

With one loud thunderous BOOM, the vial of dust from within the axe was discharged. The head of the Axe erupted in blue flames and propelled Kuhaku's swing in a powerful, wide arc [BLAST SWING]. The large axe-head smashed through the robots all at once, cleaving their torsos in two. With the extreme force and momentum from the explosive swing, their bodies were sent flying back towards Gren though heavily damaged and some in near pieces. As they flew in midair towards Gren, Kuhaku's eyes gleamed from the metallic wreckage of their parts, still wearing his signature toothy, white grin. The blue flames on his axe dying out, a small metal slide near the hilt shot back and ejected the spent vial of dust, returning forward with an empty chamber. The empty dust vial clinking and clattering across the ground.
"Alright... First, let's set up the field!" said Gren. As he charged into the robot horde and incited chaos amongst them, Kuhaku bided his time and continued to focus. As his black stripes completely spread across his ears and down his tail, his hazel eyes also began to change. The bronze/copper in his irises mixed and melded with the blue until they faded away and only an intensely bright, glowing sky-blue remained. Baring his teeth at the machines, his sharp canines white and menacing, he inhaled deeply one final time.

"Now Kuhaku!" Gren yelled as he looked at him.

Locking eyes with Gren's from across the battlefield, he puffed out his slender chest and spread his arms open wide in a challenging stance. Then using his diaphragm, he bellowed out a continuous roar that boomed, thundered, and echoed throughout the area. Releasing all of the air from his lungs and projecting his voice for all to hear. Creating slight tremors in the airwaves and ground as he sustained his noble cry for a few, long seconds [TIGER'S ROAR]. Expression twisted into one of combative rage, sharp fangs exposed from his open mouth, his glowing, sky-blue eyes with his black pupils narrowed into a sharp slit, it was in this moment that Kuhaku's Faunus blood truly showed.

As his roar ended, he closed his eyes tightly and pinned his ears against his head. Hyperventilating, he struggled to regain the breath that he sacrificed for his Semblance. His grip slackened on his weapons and he dropped to one knee. Blinking away stinging tears and slowly perking up his ears, he looked up at the robots whose attention he definitely grabbed. Vision fading in and out, ears still ringing, Kuhaku tightened his grip on Perun and Kladenets as every muscle in his body tensed and hardened. Vision and hearing now stable, he grinned darkly at the robots as his Semblance began to take effect.

The darkness of the room had completely gone and his eyesight had dramatically sharpened in detail and clarity [VISION MANIPULATION]. He could hear each individual robot's mechanics click, tick and whir [AUDITORY MANIPULATION]. Standing back up and straightening his stance, he could feel his body relax and move fluidly [EQUILIBRIOCEPTION MANIPULATION] yet at the same time his body felt hardy and strong [NOCICEPTION MANIPULATION]. Odd, the effects of the Semblance took some time before they kicked in. Kuhaku had a feeling that he wouldn't be able to use his Roar again any time soon.

Clearing his throat, he called out to Gren, "Gren! My Semblance should start taking some effect now, you should have more acute vision and hearing, quicker reaction time with increased speed, and reduction in your perception of pain should you take any damage! Now we should be on even terms with these metal-heads! You hang back for a moment, and I'll try to draw them closer to me! When you see me use my Great Axe, we'll hit them all from both sides and take out as many as we can! The ones we don't, we'll at least disable from our joint pincer attack and can finish them off when they're in pieces on the ground! Sound good to you?"
Well, if Irish determines the leader, I'm okay with that. But if it comes down to us picking our own, I gladly volunteer.

-Insert The Hunger Games reference here-
-Shrugs- I'm fine with voting for our own leaders.
