It is flat. The facility is enormously large so that it would be considerably unlikely for a resident to actually find one of the walls or the ceiling. The residents don't know, or at least shouldn't know, that they're confined.
Yes. Also yes.
They have some basic traveling opportunities, a beach, forest to camp in and an artificial ski hill (feel free to suggest any others :p) but nothing that could really be considered foreign. When they arrive at care they remember nothing of the world so the Guides are meant to repeatedly remind residents that this is the only place that exists, theres no where else to go. So, brainwashing effectively.
There would be a few elderly residents but not many. Exceptional people are very rare and CARE residents aren't allowed to reproduce except under very specific circumstances (IE. studying exceptionality's affect on pregnancy etc.) There are other facilities around the world similar to CARE, though CARE is the largest and oldest, and as such new captures are spread pretty thin.
Man that required some thinking haha, I hope it all makes sense! If not let me know and I'll try and clarify... "Clear as mud" as they say and all. :P
Welcome to CARE - the Compassionate Assisted Residence for the Exceptional. All of our residents here are, obviously, Exceptional. Which means they have been gifted with magnificent abilities beyond that of the typical persons. Some can fly, others amazing speed or strength and all else imaginable. They are: Exceptional. These people started cropping up by pure happenstance some 100 years ago and as of yet our greatest minds still can't figure why they came to be. What we do know however is that despite the magnificent nature of their abilities, they are also incredibly dangerous. To both others and themselves. And so, 78 years ago CARE was built. CARE is as wonderful as its residents. It effectively a small hamlet fit to hold approximately 150 residents (currently at half capacity) complete with everything a person could want or need. A 5000ft wall and ceiling encompass, allowing for the added benefit of complete security.
Luckily due to our top-of-the-line atmosphere simulator the residents are none the wiser. A beautiful landscape and clear blue skies everyday. It's truly like heaven. CARE receives new residents on quarterly basis, who during the in between are kept in family-sized facilities. It is there they have their minds 'cleared' and their needs, wants and abilities assessed for the ideal fresh start on arrival. They have no memories of the lives before so, it is up to us to ensure that their new ones here at CARE are full of nothing but security, love and of course, care.
This is where you come in. As a new member of our already outstanding faculty, I expect nothing but the absolute best in fulfilling your role here.
Oh, and one more thing: Everything you see, hear, touch or even smell here is 100% confidential. Remember that, and I hope you enjoy your time with us.
So, in my one day of being here, I've seen a trend of superpowers vs the system type roleplays and though that instead play the guys with the powers, it'd be interesting to play the parts of the 'system' so to speak. Kind of like playing the 'bad guys' as it were.
Thus, I came up with CARE. Its a community built and designed to be as Utopic as possible, but in many ways its also a prison to institutionalize and keep stock of all the super-powered people. In the rest of the world being Exceptional is effectively illegal. Anyone found to have some sort of power is arrested, has their mind wiped and is sorted into a occupation and lifestyle based off their personality. Most Exceptionals are brought in as children or even babies, though some manage to stay hidden until adulthood.
CARE primarily just houses the residents and governs their lives, however its also the key point of research for exceptionality. Conducting all manner of experiments--to the harmless and benign to the downright gruesome. Despite how awful things it get, its believed to be for the greater good. The ends justify the means type of thing. Ultimately the goal of the research is to either 1. make exceptionality attainable for all or 2. make those who are exceptional normal/cure the exceptionals.
We'd be playing as the staff in charge of the operation. However their will be some slots open to play an exceptional to allow for direct interaction. For the most part the staff truly believe they are doing the right things, however when the residents begin to revolt things start to go sour, fast.
Most of these are moreso guidelines than hard rules. If theres anything you think is unfair, please let me know~! 1. Obligatory no godmodding or power-playing. 2. Please be active. Let us know if you'll be away. I will conduct votes to remove players who ghost for an extended period. 3. I value diversity, so all characters will be approval-based to minimize the 'cloning effect'. 4. I will be very picky about Exceptional Characters. 5. Roleplay will start when we have at least one character for each starred role, but more will be added as things go. (New hires lol) 6. Residents call their respective Guide "Mom" regardless of gender. So yes, you can play a male guide. 7. I am not the end all be all. I'm all about fairness so most things will be on a vote.

I've purposely left no Personality section, as I prefer them to be revealed during play. Please let me know if this is an issue~! Name: Role: Age: Gender:
/
Background:
Name: Dahlia Brady Gender: Female House: Slytherin Pet: Wand: Holly wood with a Unicorn hair core 14 ½" and Surprisingly Swishy flexibility Patronus: Weasel Appearance: Parentage: Muggleborn Other: Dahlia is headstrong and confident to a fault, she generally tries to be nice to people but at the end of the day she's number 1. She always felt a little different than her peers and her family to some degree so when Dahlia received her Hogwarts letter it almost wasn't even a surprise. What was a surprise however, was that her twin sister Mharla didn't. The only time the two ever really spent apart was when they went to bathroom and when they slept, suffice to say Dahlia is a little less than confident than having to spend a whole school year without her.
