Those people who actually post their status in status updates are a part of a very small minority. One that I'm not a part of.

Solitude was a planet far from human controlled space for a long time. After the events that transpired on the Sprawl, more colonization projects were initiated by Earthgov in an attempt to create havens for humanity, just in case the ultimate Necromorph outbreak ended life on Earth, or even the entire Solar System. It was at this point that Solitude was now a major location of interest for humanity. Colonization attempts were initiated across space, as far as humanity could reasonably go. Solitude was founded ever so slightly beyond that boundary, and it was isolated from direct travel to Earth as a result. To get here, people would have to travel to the slightly closer, smaller colony of Yuran.

After the first 20 years, the results were unbelievably astounding. The planet reached a population of 800 million, 70% of which were Unitologist immigrants, and another 7% were born in Unitologist families. For the most part, the Unitologists kept completely to themselves. A small continent slightly smaller than Australia even formed an absolute government and forbade all Unitologist Activity, Unitology related items, and even people with any form of history with the Church of Unitology. But this all occurred near the end of Solitude's history of peacefulness...

Unitologists got back into the groove of things, and they kept their little projects under the radar. Several Markers were rebuilt with data collected from an unknown source. This data was also shared with different churches in different locations, and before long, history was destined to repeat itself. Upon the first instance of Necromorph infection, Yuran was hoarded with both Earthgov personnel in charge of halting all migration from Solitude, and people from Solitude whose migration attempts were met with brutal execution in order to stop any potential spreading across worlds. Of course, whether this was successful or not is unknown to the people who still reside on Solitude. News coverage was stopped shortly before the outbreak reached the global scale, and from then on it was complete chaos. Almost no survivors reside in what used to be major Urban population centers, and spotting the dead can be difficult in the dense forests of implanted trees from Earth itself. Rural small towns also exist across the planet, and many may still be functioning communities for the time, offering food, safety, and maybe even a permanent home to weary passerby.

This story takes place on Ptolemia, the second smallest of four continents on the planet.

Locations are intentionally unmarked.
Nine major cities are on this continent:

Did everyone get that glitch that went through Wash and his A.I. or just them?

You mean the one that happened with Wash from the show? No, that didn't happen to everyone. Epsilon "committed suicide" in Wash's head in the show. If you're talking about the Wash from here, then I'd say not as well. It was a memory thing, and Epsilon is the AI embodiment of the Alpha's memory.
West saw Washington heading toward the canteen area as he walked in. "I recognize that fella... He's the one who got his gut utterly demolished by the first robot we saw. He seened like a decent guy." West said to no one in particular, but Delta responded anyways.

"It's a brilliant idea for you to try to get to know your team." Delta reinforced.

"Yeah, I thought so too..." West responded. "But at least one on our team doesn't feel the same."

"Something happen?"

"Just nearly had an altercation with Arizona, just because he doesn't like people. Supposedly."

"Sounds like a rather interesting character."

"Yeah. That's one way of putting it." West muttered and looked down and off to the side. His helmet was still on, but he didn't notice. The guy never payed attention to that and tended to forget since he was just so accustomed to having it on. "Hey, man. What's up? I'm West Virginia. You can call me West." He said to Washington and offered a handshake as he stood behind him, waiting to be served. He tried to sum the guy up. People like Washington tended to not be much, but when you take into consideration that he was just here, a supersoldier in a project dedicated to supersoldiers, he had to say that the guy seemed like he could handle himself. Of course, Garret could too. And he always liked using the fact that he is a sniper to make people assume that he couldn't handle himself in hand to hand combat, when the reality was that he'd never been "outmarksmanned" or beaten mano a mano.
West sighed as he walked away from Arizona. "Man, Arizona..." He muttered to himself. "Dry and unforgiving. Both the state and the person." He shook his head. Hopefully he could go get his team. And not for Garret's sake, but for his own sake. In West's experience, people like that are the first to go. "I just want my armor ability..." West truly was more concerned about his new "superpower" than his new partner. Just as he was thing this, however, the intercom blared just as he walked past it, making him grab the side of his head.

"Agent W-"

"Gee Whizz, people!"

"-est. Please report to the Medical bay for your procedure.

"Booyah!" Hood dashed down the hall, eager to get his upgrade. When he arrived at the medical bay, he simply greeted the doctors with a nod. When he was offered the waiver, he quickly skimmed over it and gave it the A-okay. With his signature. He took his set of pills, just as all the agents before him, and fell unconscious.

Upon his awakening, a green figure stood in front of him. And now, this would have probably been another freelancer, but a few things were off. The guy was floating, for one. He was also glowing and green and, above all, no bigger than West's forearm. "Hello, Agent West Virginia. I am Delta, your new AI and partner."

"Woah. Fa rizzle?"

"Yes. And I must tell you a few things. First off, you and I are now partners. Second, I am not to interact with any other agent's AI at any time. Third, your vision enhancement ability is now activiated. This grants you X-Ray vision, thermal vision, night vision, telescopic vision, and tracking vision."

"Wowzers."

"Now that those are out of the way, shall we carry on with some training?"

"Right after mealtime, Delta-bud. Now I'm hungry." West got up and went to the cafeteria to grab some grunb.
I think this thing is done now...

I mean I am assuming we are all scheduled for surgery and since nobody was calling in I decided to go. That alright?

Yeah, it's okay. I wasn't upset or anything. I was just saying that I wasn't aware we could do that is all.
I wasn't aware we could call ourselves in for the surgery.
West's eye twitched underneath of his helmet. Of course this guy was going to be like this, what else did he expect? "You know what? Maybe you don't like people. But I've tried being nice to you despite your horrid attitude. I gave you the chance to not talk to me, but because of something in your little ego or something, you had to turn keep talking anyways and be such a-" West stopped himself and took a deep breath. This was the last thing he wanted. "You know what? Just here this. I get you don't like people. Heck, I even respect it. People have seen things, Lord knows I have. When Reach was glassed, I was both lucky... and unlucky. But you know what? No matter how isolated or jerkish you want to be, I will not let you walk over me. Especially if the mere fact that I'm a sniper has anything to do with it. So I'm going to go now, since I pretty much know you want to be alone."

And West turned to walk away. But then he stopped several steps away and turned his head back to Arizona. "But remember one thing. We're a team now. And there is more to being a team than just being on the same side."

He slowly turned his head an proceeded back to the mess hall.
West cocked his head in utter disbelief. "Woah, man. Okay, look." West was talking with hand motions now. "I genuinely want to get to the bottom of... Whatever problem you have with me. Whether you want to think it or not, I am not the Lone Wolf kind of guy. Yes, even though I do tend to be alone during combat. It's just a sniper's job." He was trying to convey to Arizona that he wasn't at all the kind of guy to be hostile towards. Heck, Garret didn't ever dislike anyone unless they unreasonably started beef with him, and if West didn't mediate now, that's where this relationship was going.

"I don't want you to hate me before you get to know me." West stated as he walked toward Arizona. "Let's start with a friendly formal greeting." He held out his hand when he got to Arizona. "I'm West Virginia, but you can call ne West."
