Thanks very much for the acceptance, by the way. Trying to work on a post right now. I have more free time than I should.
Name: Masaru Takahara Age: Mid-20s (?) Gender: Male Appearance: Canon, AU, or OC?: Cannon Universe of Origin: Live A Live Personality: To say Masaru is obsessed with STRENGTH would be the understatement of the century. The man thinks of STRENGTH in all its forms, physical and mental, as the be-all and end-all of his existence. Consequently, he comes across as somewhat absurdly macho to a lot of people (but not in a loud way), demanding that things be done in a STRONG and POWERFUL manner, and naturally, is quite short-tempered, slightly abrasive to people he doesn't trust, and takes things a tad too seriously (which makes regular conversation a little difficult at times). That being said, he is also an honourable fellow who would never go full-power against someone weaker than himself, or kick an opponent when they're down; he views such things as cowardly and thus, a sign of weakness. He is, at heart, a good man who values strength through knowledge and experience just as much as physical strength, if not more so. Abilities/Weapons: Combining raw strength and techniques borrowed from the six masters, Masaru is a formidable hand-to-hand combatant, at inexplicably superhuman levels. For example, he is able to rush at blindingly fast speeds for brief moments (Tsuda, Abise-Geri), punch and do lariats with enough force to create small tornadoes (Aloha Clap, Max Bomber) and strike the ground hard enough to shake the earth and stun enemies without breaking his own fist (Earth-Rending Fury); though even without these abilities, he is a very skilled and diverse mixed martial artist. In addition, he has remarkable skills of observation, memory and tactical analysis, through which he can borrow even more hand-to-hand fighting techniques. Even he isn't sure how he can do all of this, though he's speculated it might be Ki Manipulation. Not that he really cares. Backstory: Like many boys, Masaru wanted to be the absolute, unquestioned strongest fighter on Earth; not just in body, but in heart and mind. But while most boys eventually abandon such macho aspirations to instead become doctors, engineers or, heavens forbid, politicians, Masaru chose to see his dream to its realisation, even after he got laughed out of the gym a few times for his lofty goals. Spending a considerable sum of money, he travelled the world, learning the best there is from fighting six martial arts masters and combining it with his own self-taught style, until he reached his peak by defeating the infamous Odie Oldbright, who had previously murdered those same six masters in cold blood to prove his own strength. This is where things get strange. After defeating Odie, he was spirited away to a realm outside of space and time, ruled over by the time-travelling Demon King Odio; Odie's true form. With the help of a Caveman, a Kung-Fu Instructor, a Ninja, a Cowboy, a Teenage Psychic and a Robot, he was able to defeat Odio and return to his own time, whereupon he chose to keep quiet about the whole ordeal. That is, until he found out about multiversal travel following another mystery teleportation accident. Having declared himself the strongest fighter on Earth, he then decided that wasn't good enough and instead sought to be the strongest in the entire Multiverse. A tall order, but one he hopes to realise in the same sort of manner as before; by seeking out skilled opponents and challenging them. Plus, this time he has more money thanks to his earlier exploits. He's pretty popular in Canada, for some reason. Faction: Factionless Theme Song: Ultimate Strength ~ Victory Road
We should also recruit more players. When Vita gets back, he should add [Accepting] or [Recruiting] or [Needs players], etc. It might also be wise to PM any friends who might be interested.
Would it help if I advertised the RP in my sig? I think the people in this other RP I'm in could be quite interested. They're the active type, you see.
"Well, if we're goin' by the assumption that these dumbasses came from town..." Rimau said, choosing to politely ignore the topic of mountains any further before it became distracting. "...They prob'ly used this road right 'ere." Rimau stepped outside, into the purely natural, gritty air of the outdoors, and 'sweeped' his pointed hand along the road towards the mountains. "...I mean, sure, they mighta been the show-off type an' scaled some walls, but roads tend to be the only viable way up mountains. F'good reason." Rimau proceeded to take a few strides down the cobbled road, in the direction of the mountain gate, and turned back to Mysaren, who he assumed was still inside. "...Unless y'got any other plans, I suggest we get goin'. Uh, no pressure, though. Those dumbasses are prob'ly makin' a mess o' their britches just thinkin' about retribution right now, heheh." With that, Rimau grabbed the sides of his goggles and slid them over his eyes; the sign that he was now in 'work' mode. Which reminded him; 'must remember to take that medicine when we get there. Last thing I need is a repeat o' the last Plat'num troll hunt... geez, maybe I'm gettin' too old f'this. ...Naaaah.' He finalised that line of thought with another devilish grin.
Ah, I'm sure I could handle this. Took me a while, but here is my CS. Be sure to let me know if I messed up anywhere: Name: Masaru Takahara Age: Mid-20s (?) Rimau's expression turned a little uneasy when Mysaren started talking about the transportation, or lack thereof. Don't get him wrong, Rimau was not lazy at all, no matter what the macho sword-swinging types said. It was just the weather he was worried about. It might make him act erratically, a thought that was enough to distract him from Mysaren's comment on his little joke. Or maybe it instead distracted her from his uneasiness. "Alright, well... walkin' it is, I s'pose." He conceded, rubbed the back of his neck. Sure, she mentioned she could find something else, but what were the chances? Horses didn't really like the old lizard, anyway, they always got worked up around him for some reason. Three-hundred-and-three years old and he still hadn't figured out why. "I should confess, I ain't too big on mountains an' such." He said with added honesty. "Too cold. An' us Zizz, we get real pissy when it ain't warm an' dry. It ain't nothin' personal if I start criticisin' life itself, heheh. Sooner we get t'where these dumbasses are, th'better, wouldn'tya say?" He finalised, restoring his previous optimism. Rightly so, of course. Between him and this lady, he was sure that these dumbasses would stand no chance. Even if she wasn't that good. Placing his now-empty Pipe back in its place on his belt, Rimau walked across the wooden floor, now a bit clearer, and poked his long neck out the window. He coughed slightly, since it felt like he stuck his head into a bowl of dirt and tumbling rocks once it was out the window. Even though the city looked quite clean compared to the Tavern... another weird thing. It also seemed a lot brighter outside when inside, but when actually outside Rimau noticed it was overcast for the first time. "Well, I'm guessin' that's the mountain range..." He said, pointing at said mountains visible to east, just over the town walls, and waving for Mysaren to observe with his other hand. "...Considerin' it's the only damn mountain range in sight an' all. Whad'you think?"
If I may ask, how has this RP been doing lately? I like the whole multiverse concept very much, but it seems like the sort of RP that'd be difficult to join after it's been active for two months. For some reason. And that's assuming you're even taking more people. That said, I am still interested.
@Sessamaru I know I already asked, but just to double-check; when we have characters travelling, is it absolutely necessary we describe the whole thing? Can't we skip a little bit, at least? Not trying to be awkward, I just don't think I'd be able to maintain my attention span long enough to do such a thing. Also, conservation of detail and whatnot.
Forgive if I take forever to get an IC post, I tend to get easily distracted.
Alright, I've finally made my post, now I can have some toast. Yes, I planned that rhyme ahead of time. And toast is not restricted to mornings any more than a ghost is restricted to evenings.
