Jacqueline took her flute and began making small talk with unmentionable nobles. For some reason she couldn't bring herself to associate with the others. Then again, she rarely went to social gatherings where talking with people her age was a requirement.

"Come now, Sir Knight, you must get better control over Midas." Princess Lorelai kept her eyes forward but was smiling ear to ear. While Midas came through the forest like a wrecking ball, Freya was dodge the worst things, as though protecting the princess. The creak was now in view, just past a small cliff.

Tanya snorted when Lin mentioned a significant other. "Significant other? Sooo... Johnny Depp?" She laughed more at her completely generic answer. Tanya's laughed gave way to giggles and faded until she was left with a content smile that left her looking at her shoes. "Yeah. And I'm happy here."

Jacqueline was able to part from her family long enough to glide over to the table where hor d'ourves were being served. She picked up a flute of champagne and took a sip as she looked at the crowd. Some people she recognized, others she did not. She saw a girl chatting rather flirtatiously with a man. Jacqueline knew that she should find the girl to be shameless but deep down she felt envy.

Lorelai egged Freya on to move faster. The mare was no war horse but she could hold her own. Lori was right when she said she had a good memory of the forest as she executed turns and jumps around trees and rocks. "Do keep up Sir Knight." She put a tad bit more emphasis into the last two words as she ducked under branches.

When Midas was within reach, Lori reached over, patting him on the neck. "Competitive is he? How about a race? We'll go down to the creek first one there wins. I am quite confident in my memory of it from here." Lorelai straighten her posture. "On your marks. Ready. Go!" She snapped the reigns and Freya gave and excited whinny before charging into the forest.

Lorelai laughed. "I respect them as well, but for different reasons. I respect you in a different way." She paused, pressing her lips in a line. "It's hard to explain. Maybe it's because I've known you for so long? We've grown up together. I didn't get to see my brother often since he was king in training and then he got married and now I have the Queen as a friend as well. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that I respect you because you were not some distant figure. I respect you for being my friend when I had very few." She was quiet for a while longer then laughed. "I'm probably not making any sense." She edged her horse onward, getting Freya to go a little faster.
