James' eyes narrowed. "Dog-crested knights, and hounds of war?" he asked.
"Hmm... Perhaps he speaks of the Hawthornes. Hard-headed mongrels near the edge of society, fighting in near any war that calls them." he said, looking back into the fire. "I wouldn't be surprised if one or another went daft from a few too many blows to the helm. Was this knight also a member of the family?"
"I'm not thirsty." James responded, wringing the water from his hair. He knelt down by the fire, holding Anya next to him. At this rate, even she would be warm. The crackling flames created an odd sense of comfort for James. The smokey, burning scent filling his nostrils forced his mind to wander back to his home. If he let it, he could almost still hear the clashing of steel against steel, and the thunder of hooves on mud and bone.

"If you want our 'story', we're travelers." James said, snapping back to reality. He eyed the new woman up and down. James assumed it must have been Elric's midget-wife. "I've been searching for something important. For personal reasons. Call it a quest, if you want."
I like how Tirarian's emergency defense weapon is a hand grenade.

Guys, Grushtov is all yours to control. You may do as you like with him, but don't make yourselves too OP. Ol' Grushtov won't probably go down yet with a single knife to the face. Remember, he's insane and bloodthirsty.

I will do nothing. I haven't got much of a reason to go out and fight him.

Huh, I thought the last call for the jolly hippogriff would be a bit later, hence the assumption. Yeah, time progression is very difficult to pull off but so far we have it - even if it is merely a day-night cycle.

Honestly even that isn't all that important. It's better to just advance time as everyone feels is convenient.

Argh, if I knew all manner of hell was to be released then I wouldn't have started the collab. Sorry, metro and Feig! I'm going to assume that the trio dont hear the chaos from the pub since they're at home.Bing, dearest, I would love you forever if you kept the whole 'time' progression alive. I think its late night or early morning.

It's probably like 20:00 since most people are headed to be IC. Also, time progression is kinda subjective; it should be based on what's happened. So far we've talked for what'd be about an hour or two at most IC.
"Good, good. Let's hurry with the fire, then." James said. "My daughter is cold and wet; I want to dry her off now. A warm fire is the best way to do so. The sooner we make a fire, the better."

He looked down to give Anya a smile, and said "Once we get the fire roaring, we can cuddle there tonight. It'll be much more comfy than a crate."
"You'll see." James smiled, following quickly behind Elric.
"Fortune's smiled upon us, Anya. We're going to do a lot better than normal tonight. Probably." he explained.

"Do you have a fireplace?" he asked Elric, hoping they'd enter his home soon.
James considered the offer, and slowly climbed out of the crate, picking his daughter up in a princess carry as he rose to his full height.

"I appreciate the generosity." he said solemnly, staring intently at Elric. "Do lead the way. Anya's going to get soaked at this rate."
"There are things that keep me warmer than a roof and fireplace, stranger." James responded, pulling Anya ever closer to him.

"What brings you to this neck of the.... alley?" he asked. "If you want to share the crate, forget it. We're cramped as is."
