I actually am deciding to humor you guys (mostly because there's a lack of street fighting games and I don't make GMPCs when I GM), but it's good to make sure every reason and setting detail is written down and relatively thought out.

The character was designed with the age in mind. I wanted an older, grizzled character, and the age suits him. Even if I played someone similar but youthful, I'd still go early twenties at the youngest, because I don't want to be confined to a high school. Seriously, high school sucked. You're attributing 8-10 hours of the in-game day to sitting in classes/club activities that the game isn't really focused on.

Look, all I'm saying is that if you want to make reasons why I can't use my character, you should apply them to characters who have already joined. Like saying that this is a low-tier high school gang, but allowing knives and breaking bones, and for the Dragons to murder people in Killian's backstory.

Of course, if you want to make the game less realistic, there's even less reason for me not to play an old guy. Old guys are cool.

Except you have a player carrying one all the time, implying it's something to be brought out quickly. If it's last resort or reserved for big, important stuff, you'd keep that at home, probably in a shoe box under your bed.
On top of that, at least one character had like three family members murdered by the gang. That is some serious shit to deal with, the kind that police and adults totally get involved with

This is also contradictory. You don't want to kill, but you do want to use knives, despite knives being pretty lethal.

I never said he was intent on joining the current gang. Rather, they have mutually aligned goals.
Second, I'm not having you change ideas for convenience, I'm asking you to fill out and explain various plot points and restrictions so that they make sense.

The GM used info in his opening post that's really contradictory to what he's saying now. Furthermore, several PCs are straight up carrying knives around (at school, no less), which escalates the general seriousness of the situation. There's no reason not to include older characters unless you've got a seriously good reason. Even high school punks bother elders all the time.
