Things you should keep in mind about my RP...

1) If you need me to post, PM me. My memory is awful.
2) No matter how much I may love the source material, I will not join an RP if the Interest Check, IC, or OOC has too many posts. I am not reading all of that. If you want me to join, PM me a summary.
3) I won't even read source material in the Interest Check or OOC sections if the IP is, like, super convoluted, long, or snobbishly formatted. Keep that shit IC. Give me clear and concise posts or I'm gone. I dont have all day to sort through your five different fonts and your 17 paragraphs of setup.

My game is a l****e s*****r so I'll join :) (also you forgot "wrath", if youre going for the 7 deadly sins)

Name : D'ren

Age : 26

Demon or angel that blessed you: Lust (Samy'aza, if I may name her)

Power: Agnosticism: cannot be directly affected by anything spiritual. IE: conjured fireball from a winged angel, NO. A falling tree because that invisible angel weakened the roots over several days, YES.

Personality : D'ren (full name Daren Connor McDonnell) is anti-social and fancies himself a rebel; though he hates weakness and tries not to show his faults, he is very prone to anger, seduction, and his own arrogance. He is generally a sociopath who wants to control as many people as possible; he manipulates, seduces, and intimidates to get his way.

History : When he was 16, his Irish parents told him their theory about the multiverse, and how there were many versions of him, some that were not prone to his adolescent outbursts, and how they believed that the American and UK governments had used Daren's DNA to create clones in their wars. The next day, they became collateral damage in an explosion planned by the government to take out an IRA cell. Daren changed his name to D'ren to honor his deceased brother, who had a speech impediment, and tried to join the IRA to fight the governments responsible, not to avenge his parents, but to find out more about their multiverse theory. Eventually he moved up the ranks of the IRA and became infamous, earning the nickname The Infamous, and notching 2,950 kills in his belt. Only half of them were enemy personnel; the other half were women and children.

My general plan for D'ren is to have Samy manipulate him (as he manipulates others) into finding the artifact or part of it. Eventually I think he will figure it out and try to manipulate Samy for his own gain, but once he fully believes that angels and demons exist, his ability will either disappear altogether or just change into something else. My main version of The Infamous has a lot of abilities, but this was his first one, which is how he got to where he is in my story ;)
You (@OliviaV) slowly wake up on your back in an unfamiliar, alien environment. By that I mean, you don't ever recall seeing this field before. In fact, you don't remember how you left the last place you were, when you went to sleep...whenever that was. You gradually come to, seeing the bright blue sky, not a cloud in sight, and feeling the moist lush grass beneath your hands. As you look around, attempting to keep calm and not freak out, you realize there is another individual lying in the field, a few meters away. But before you can take in his alien appearance, your hear an ever-so-light whisper. In fact, it's such a small voice, you ignore it at first. But then it becomes impossible to ignore as the voice begins screaming inside your head.

"Get out of my mind!" the personality shouts at you.

Sitting there in the grass, you realize you are possessing someone. You look down to investigate your body, but you can't make out heads or tails of it. Like the other person, this body seems to be of an unknown origin. The flesh has a light glow to it, and the skin cells seem to be much larger, almost like scales. After closer inspection you realize that it is the cells that are emitting the evanescence. Your skin seems pale, but it's difficult to discern the actual color due to the light. You gaze down at your hands; there doesn't seem to be anything amiss about them, aside from the skin. In fact, is this even skin?

You take a deep breath, and notice that breathing seems to be a lot easier in this environment. You might also notice some other things, if your perception is high enough...

You may choose to do anything, @OliviaV. However, before you do anything, roll a d20 for a perception check. If you do not have one, there are several options, including virtual dice on apps and this site (I think).

The voice your head, rather the original occupant, does not want you to be here, and suggests that you immediately vacant their body and mind. Since you do not know how to do that, and the other personality quickly figures this out, they suggest you remain calm, and investigate Anani, who you can easily determine - by the fact that nobody else is here - must be the other person, who seems to be unconscious.

However, if you wish to flee the area, or do nothing, or even something completely random, you may do that as well. No matter what you choose to do after you roll a perception check, you make the decision and allow me to describe the outcome.

This is the OOC thread for TOS: TGT. For short, we'll call it T3, since 1) there are 3 T's in it, 2) it's the third story of the Otherworlds Stories, and 3) we cant call it TOS cuz there is TOS: Malevora and TOS: A Remnant, and TOS: Nothing New Under the Sun, and 4) we can't call it TGT because I may change the title from The Gemini Trials, it's only a working title. This whole game will be in pre-production for the next five years.

So if you want to join but havent seen the Check, here it is: roleplayerguild.com/topics/160881-the-..

I could make it a hyperlink but I'm lazy.

You need to talk to me before jumping into the IC portion. I will be assigning you characters, unlike D&D and other tabletop RPGs where you make your own. There is a reason for this. You wont know the reason until the end so dont bother trying to figure it out. In fact, dont try to figure out anything. This is experimental and I'm only 20% sure it's a good idea, but 100% sure it's a good story.

Got your notebook and dice? Good. Let's begin...

Oh, below I have put an example post of mine; it's just the OP for the IC thread. So if there are any questions, please ask them here, not in the IC thread.

I'm 31 years old and this story...well, there are multiple stories merged into one, but they're all over 15 years old. So explaining everything in one post is not an option. But keep reading (and for the love of God, ask questions), because this is not your generic "You wake up in..." story or game.

You might be wondering why there are so many genre tags. (there were originally 12 before I had to change it) Well, all of those genres are in my RPG in some fashion. I'm gonna try to keep this short and simple, so if you are even mildly interested, just PM me for the unabridged 3-book series-long description. Nah, I'm kidding, it wont be that bad.

YOU - the player - your consciousness, memories, experiences UP UNTIL THIS POINT - are transported to another dimension/universe/world/realm/plane of existence, whatever you wanna call it. Except you are in the body of another character. You can hear and feel the other character's mind and personality, but you control the body. So if you meet a short bearded man with a pickaxe, and he looks like a dwarf, you might assume he's a dwarf, if you've played any DnD or watched any fantasy movies in real life. However, if that dwarf type creature is actually something else, the person sitting passenger with you (IE me), may choose to correct your assumption, or he/she may let you believe what you wanna believe.

The worlds: the RPG is called The Otherworlds Stories because there are more than one world. The first world you will enter will be ----REDACTED, TOP SECRET---- where you will have to rely heavily on your diplomatic skills and perception of people and surroundings rather than combat, since everyone there will be way more ----YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW----

The second world is a ----REDACTED, TOP SECRET---- where there is no ______, ______, or _____. You may think this - or perhaps even both of these worlds - are boring since apparently you cannot _____, but rest assured, the conspiracies and mysteries will have you guessing until the end.

Then there is the more mundane world, except it's ----REDACTED, TOP SECRET----, but all of these different stories and worlds are inter-connected. The key is trying to find out how, and of course surviving.

There are rules.
1) You know in the game, what you know in real life. Up until you join the game.
2) Have a notebook, physical or computeral - you are gonna wanna write or type things out to keep in mind for later. You really dont want to have to sift through hundreds of pages of RP to find the name of that NPC that was mentioned once...
3) I currently run a d20 tabletop RPG of this (like DnD), but I assume there is no dice mechanic on this site, so, if would either have a d20 on hand or download an app, that would be great. I could roll for you but why? Yes, you can cheat, for a little while, but it wont really help all that much. Trust me.
4) Passion. Creativity. Ingenuity. Reliability. Have these. Please. I will remove you from the game if you are absent for more than two weeks without notice, or if I feel like you're not that interested. Which makes no sense since this game is online and you can choose to RP anything, but it's been known to happen.
5) There is a type of leveling/XP in one of the stories. If you bring someone into the fold and they play long-term, you will gain XP and level up quicker. If they leave after you level or show no interest, or I just think they came to help you out, I will reduce you one level. I giveth away, and I taketh away.
6) This game has an overall story arc. But feel free to suggest creative ideas. I will only disallow them if they in some way go against the overall arc of the story. If you want to affect the arc, remember you are in another person's body seeing things as they would, and acting contrary to how they would act, so...that's kind of an unrealistic expectation, and you will understand why once you've been playing awhile.
7) Charisma, diplomacy, persuasion, perception, insight, etc. > combat ability.
8) There will be no more than 8 main player-characters. If anymore join, they will be ancillary. They will be the Jack Patillos of the game. XD for Achievement Hunter fans.

So let me know if you're interested. PM's preferred.

EDITION: So I see there is a dice mechanic, but I dont really understand it, so...maybe we'll use it, maybe not.

EDITION 2: I realize starting this game may seem complicated, but it's not. The only part that may seem complicated is the Dungeons and Dragons level of background, lore, and characters, but only I have to worry about that, unless someone wants to co-GM.
IS this an RP, or...?
I realize my plot may seem complicated, but it really isnt...
hmm. ok...
A place where people put their city, state, and country so they can meet in real life?

And thanks. :)
