So, should I make any changes to the app? Accepted/denied? Not sure if I'm allowed to post it in the Characters tab yet; that's usually an off-limits place until I'm accepted.

App is two posts above me. Or here.

I plan on introducing characters as the RP goes on, but there won't be any super-duper heroes from this faction. Mostly, there will be scholars, mayors, militia, and scholar-warriors.
I'm waiting for Vesuvius to post again myself. I honestly want to see how Vitoria and Gabby get along. Something tells me it's either going to be hilarious or really awkward. (Both?)

Hey, any chance I could get some perspective to the value of the currencies?

Like, what's the general price range of:
A loaf of bread
A tunic
A varyan steel sword
A mithril sword
A horse
100 acres of farmland

...This is a good question. I'm keen on knowing, too, especially given my character being a haggler. This might come up during RP.
Edited Olan's sheet. His opinions are complete. Gonna read and probably work on a post shortly.
He's using "Copy" in the sense that it's used in radio communications. "Understood" is what he said, basically.
I'm going to edit my character sheet so there are actual opinions on other characters, and then I'll make a post myself. Prioritizing work on this thread at the moment.
Didn't you mention making a character sheet for the Dragon? That's okay, if you're not sure who you want to play. There's lots of options to choose from.

Definitely on my to-do list. He'll probably be an NPC, but he won't be completely unable to be reasoned with. Smaug could be talked to, even if he was an evil bastard; this dragon will be able to be negotiated with as well. There just may not be pleasant negotiations.

I'll see about finishing that piece and a piece on the Ghostwood tonight. I'll think about other adventure sites as well, or maybe villages / towns to visit.
Eh. There's nothing wrong with a cast that has more female than male leads in it.

I think I'd like to play NPCs and the like, the more I think about it. You know: someone that sets some scenes, maybe arranges random events, etc. Not a "GM," as I don't want to be in control or anything, but someone that mainly participates by making things the other players can react to and such.

If I were to make a character, I'm not sure what I'd want to make.

One more suggestion: I think this should be a subcontinent to a larger continent, like India and Europe are to Eurasia (yes, I know: Europe is often considered a separate continent despite being part of the same landmass). Alternatively, think of Italy and Spain: big chunks of land jutting out into the ocean. Thus, there's a big wide world where SOMETHING is out there, but we don't have to specify what. It's with places in that big wide world that the people of this continent might trade with, or where invaders may come from, etc.

(Said rest-of-the-world could also be a good place for future RP.)
Well, one way to work with both high adventure themes and global threats? Do it Lord of the Rings style.

Party forms for adventure > is threatened by agents of Big Bad > ends up on a quest to stop the Big Bad > eventually there are big armies and stuff and oh God is that a giant elephant?

This would let the roleplay have both high adventure themes and, y'know, war. It would focus on individuals and their quest. Battles and such would be a backdrop, almost.

Also, I think it would be good if people were to keep their minds open as to what the result of the plot could be. Evil could lose, or the perceived evil could end up freeing itself from the actual evil (THE HEART, maybe), or the perceived evil could win and thus lead to a different sort of story altogether (one of resistance, for example). Smaller things should be left open, too. Player characters can die. Nations can crumble. Etc, etc.

Sorry if this is a rambling post. But yeah, basically: the rough idea of the plot should be known, but the exact outcomes and the road taken there... not so much.
Concerning that battlefield: it's not an army, not a nation, or anything of the sort. It's an adventure site, so to speak - a place haunted with undead that occasionally wander off and murder people, but not a unified force. Necromancers, monsters and bandits would be the threats in that territory.

But I was originally going to make that when I figured the plot would be more high adventure themed. It's leaning toward a national focus on things (despite not being a nation roleplay), so I'm not sure if that's the right thing to make.
So, doing some thinking on the plot for myself...

I think having Enoch as a Big Bad state makes sense. They've been designed with Big Bad state in mind. However, they shouldn't be the immediately pursued threat; Enoch is "coming," so to speak, but isn't quite on the continent yet.

Having Enoch's arrival come later allows for a party of adventurers / heroes / what-have-you to form before the threat actually arrives. Then, when it arrives, there's various ways to prepare to face Enoch - but it's something that should take a LOT of effort to bring to a halt.

I'll also add that the Commonwealth is going to try and avoid any wars unless forced or convinced. War can be good for business, but war against a much stronger foe? Not so much. They'd rather sit behind the safety of their walls than march an army out to meet the Cabals in battle.

We have Khazad-dum 2.0, Fantasy Fairyland, Little Lovely Hamlet, Pink Valhalla and the Mecha-Mountains

This quote made my day. I hope, however, that the Commonwealth doesn't just come across as LotR style dwarves; they were an inspiration, but so was Italy and Scandinavia... and I suppose dwarven politics as portrayed in Dragon Age: Origins and the Warcraft universe. (Yeah, people like making dwarves have the meanest politics.)
