I think your discussion of your thread would be best handled on a thread related to it.

I'm sorry, but this whole little tirade doesn't sit well with me. The poster has not only started a campaign against a number of users (or at least threatens to) but is now telling people not to join the Roleplay.

I think I threw this your way the other day in the IRC, but you'd be more than welcome to join my thread. We've been doing this thread off and on for 8 years or so, so there is a very rich lore to it that makes it very intriguing. You would take the role of a trainer (most likely on their Rites) with a companion creature. However, often your companion won't fight alone as trainers have access to magic and weapons to fight directly alongside.

Here.

Thank you to the both of you. You two are very kind and patient with what I bet are pretty tiresome questions. :)

No problem at all. We were all new once and the conventions from site to site can differ a lot. It is good that you ask to avoid incurring the wrath of a GM who may not be as forgiving of any kind of faux pas you'd make by not knowing these things.

Okay, that makes sense. And is there some kind of accepted/denied system?

Most thread owners will let you know if a bio meets the requirements by posting "[Name] is accepted or denied" somewhere after the bio - you can see my thread as an example for what I do.

Thank you for the offer! I do have a question: I'm a little confused because in my snooping, there is an OOC and IC section. I understand those, however sometimes people post forms in OOC and sometimes they post them straight up in the IC such as with your RP? I'm unsure of what the rules are for that.

The general convention is you post things such as your bios in the OOC section, as well as post questions about the thread (or just generally discuss with the people participating in the thread). The IC should be reserved solely for actions your character(s) is/are taking. Before posting in the IC nearly all thread owners will likely require some kind of completed character sheet.

Hello, yes, 911--Waaaait a minute there, I'm not from America. I'm not paying for overseas costs. Not again. But thank you, I would love to make a first attempt in your RP. Hopefully I'm not too embarrassing - famous last words! But the kid's table is much more comfortable. Poppers abound; the apple juice flows. It's a grand affair. And thank you, Innue! I'll try but it's all quite daunting.

As well, you could join mine (my signature and such), as it is flexible enough that most anyone can be involved, but should push your limits with the people that have so far chosen to involve themselves. It's also a generally good way to learn solid combat roleplay principles, as there is a decent amount of that as well.

I also sit in the Chat (IRC) and excessive amount of time if you wish to pose questions there.
Considering you actually made a fairly witty thread for this, you probably give yourself a bit too little credit.

I learned the best way to improve at something like this is to do generally aim high. You'll be surprised at what you can do. Joining a thread that may seem daunting can be the best way to achieve the improvement you want.

This is how I learned to roleplay in another place. I didn't really have an option to do material that was subpar because I was part of something that it wouldn't be acceptable on. You'll be surprised what your true upper limits might be.

Can we complain about ourselves and our terrible habits? I think I’m going to do that.I’m really sick and tired of being in this sort of role-playing purgatory where my creative passion lingers in a dead zone. I’ve never been a better writer than I am now and here I am not actively feeling the same bite I did back a few years ago (let’s say 2007 to like 2010). I mean I’ve tried all the tricks in the book to be inspired consistently and Pach full well knows my inspiration has been flaky in recent years. But every single time it disappears it is for this short ass time. I mean I think 2013 was the most active I’ve been in years for role-playing prose.I’m also sick and tired of me subconsciously sabotaging and destroying my own role-plays by either activity, arguing, or what-have-you. I love GMing, and as much as I prefer to be a player sometimes it’s not viable. Why can’t I keep anything afloat after I finished the one role-play (saga) I finished a few years ago? It’s like I finally completed a role-play without excessive time-skips and what happens after? Everything fails. Speaking of, I have an apologetic PM to send to two people.I’m also not sick of “anime” (could you guys find a more trite thing to generalize and complain about, really?) role-plays, I’m sick of one’s that are inconsistent or ridden with plotholes as well as quality drops. As for less self-focused points: I’m don’t like the way drama always rears its head and ends up killing a role-play through reputation or just squeezing the OOC to an awkward point. But yeah, most of this was in casual role-plays. I had once a guy argue with me that my race restrictions were not appreciated by the “furry community” because I wouldn’t let him write a gary stuish fire-bending dragon in a post-apocalyptic low magic universe! The nerve of me!I’d also like people to stick to role-plays for longer than a month on end, I know this is a very minority issue as there are months/years old projects in all three of the main role-playing sections. But some of the nice casual role-plays I liked vanished too fast for my own taste.I’m sick of writing CS’s, but I understand why I need to.

I shared the CS frustration which is why I started not requiring CS's in a strict sense. I let people start roleplaying without completing their CS under the rule that the section had to be completed and approved before it influences the roleplay. For example, combat requires you to have your powers/abilities done. So on so forth.
