Is it just me or did there used to be way more original RPs on this platform? Seems like nowadays everything is some fandom or pre-established universe RP

I just want to let everyone know I am currently 17 and have been using this platform to RP for about 5 years now, so you may or may not have RPed with a 12 year old at one point and not even known it

Name: Ted "Bear" Sanders
Starter Pokemon: Poochyena
Why you want that starter: Apart from the fact that I absolutely love Mightyena, I think that the poor pooch doesn't get nearly enough love. The fact that he's at the beginning of the game gets him classed with pokemon like Zigzagoon, where in reality he's greatly designed unlike some other "gems" we've had (cough cough Rattata). Also, his pure dark typing is definitely a change from the normal (pun intended), because at the beginning of the game they're always rat normal types.
Appearance:
Age: 15.
Backstory: Bear grew up in the Kanto region. His mother's name was Anne, and his father was a man named Esuine. His house could have almost been considered a broken home, as Esuine was always off somewhere in the region traveling. When asked what Esuine was doing always traveling, he said he was "chasing after a certain pokemon." His mom was wary, and she suspected Esuine was having an affair. For the few times his father did come home, his household was always ridden with fights. His mother would always insist he was off cheating with some Goldenrod trash. Esuine always insisted he was nearly afoot catching the legendary pokemon Suicune. His mother would have divorced him right then and there, if she had the money. After about a year of this, Esuine came home one night, he was angry, real angry. Apperantly someone had caught his Suicune before he could capture it himself. He went in a wild rage after a couple beers, and attacked his mother. That's when his mother decided to call it quits, and woke Bear up in the middle of the night. They took a boat to the Sinnoh region and settled in Sandgem town.
Bear has always been weary of Pokemon after he saw how his father went of the deep end because of a certain Pokemon, so he never got one when he turned 13. Two years later, he decided he may as well get one now.

The floorboards creaked as Leo rolled over the hard and unforgiving wood-paneled floor that he called his resting pace. Sunlight flushed in through the lone carriage window, rousing Leo. He toyed with the idea of just staying in bed for a bit longer, but that would mean losing breakfast. Unwilllingly, he groggily picked himself up and stretched his stiff body as he yawned. Most people's carriages had a bed, some sort of decoration, just something or other to make it homey. To Leo, homey meant bales of hay and animals. For the most part, at the moment, most of his darling animals were still resting or just getting up. He walked past a lion stretching out his hind paws and open the door of his carriage, and took a step out into the open. His face met sunbaked air, and he smiled, if only just a little. It was a pretty day. As he began making his way to the breakfast tables, he kept his head down, his eyes averted. This was in order to avoid some conversations he'd rather not have. As he approached the breakfast table he saw Drina with her bowls of soup talking to Azga. Leo had to admit, Azga looked downright amazing. He had heard of the wild orgies that Azga hosted, but he was not one for them. He had been invited to one of them once, but he never was one for what was supposed to be the wild allure of sex, and sadly, he declined. As he picked up his bowl of soup, he nodded to Drina, and quickly cast his eyes down and turned away. He sat down with his bowl of soup next to West - who was shuffling his deck of cards like he did every day. "Morning everyone," said West. "Morning," said Leo, keeping his eyes glued to his soup.
