"...Like I said, you want justice. Justice for the death of your brother, Takashi." Kuro said in melancholy, boosting his power output to once again match the Fire Dragon Slayer's. The pistol he used shook on it's own, nearing it's breaking point. In the end, Holder Magic just couldn't top Casting Magic in stressing clashes like this. He hesitated for a moment, but sighed as if he was finally relieved of something, "What if I told you Takashi was still alive?"

Luka froze stiff at those words. Kuro didn't even confirm it or anything, but just the idea that Takashi wasn't dead... It reopened an old wound Luka had only just closed.
"The Parisian Metro... I wonder if it'll be like stumbling on another civilisation for the first time, ...or will it be like discovering an ancient tomb?" Lauren spoke her mind calmly, looking out to sea as John fired up the boat's engine and sent them South, towards the Normandy coast. It would take around six hours to get there at this thing's top speed - and by then it would be dark.

Viktor slugged Lauren in the shoulder and sighed, "Keep your hopes up, eh? Optimism is good in a fucked up world like this." He chuckled, looking over at Sam and then to the others.

"...Just trying to be realistic." Lauren quipped back, sparing Vik a more serious glance.
Roughly seven hours later, it was late-sunset. As the boat was beached at the fishing village in Normandy, Viktor was the first to hop down onto the freezing sand. The temperature wad dropping, and fast. The team had to find shelter or they would suffer one of two fates: freezing, or being eaten alive. "I'll take point. Stay quiet. Don't hesitate to use flashlights, but turn them off if you can avoid danger." The English-Russian hybrid calmly told the others, staring up into the post-apocalyptic French town with his AK's flashlight illuminating the way.

Lauren remained by Sammy while it was dangerous - that was her place as her sister and as the one who watched over the squad protectively.

John followed on behind Viktor, flicking his nightvision scope on to see what was ahead. There were howls on the wind though. Mutants were coming - a LOT of them. "Must have heard our mighty rustbucket's engine as we came in. Hurry it up, guys." He advised.
"...What is it that you two want?" Kuro finally said as he backflipped away from Tamotsu's uppercut. As the second, smaller but concentrated roar was released towards him he unleashed a steady stream of magic from one of his pistols, letting the two powers clash violently. It was Kuro's raw supply of magic power versus the piercing flames of a fire dragon. Eventually, Tamotsu's blast would break through because of it's special property - but by then Kuro would be long gone. But for now, he waited, the magic clashing between them.

"...I know what you want..." Kuro sighed sadly. It looked like he was ready to give up, but the power kept flowing unhindered. "Justice. I'm always put in these situations, when I know what I should do, but I don't do it because.. my family is precious to me. I couldn't betray them."

Luka was ready to hit Kuro while he was busy holding Tamotsu's roar back, but she couldn't bring herself to shoot him. Maybe they were getting somewhere...
After a few hours sorting stuff out with the royal guards and whatnot, Ryker & Flare were on their way out of the city. Maka didn't like the idea of using a scapegoat, but given it was a bandit, and Ryker was actually the good guy, there wasn't any harm done really. As the two left the train station, Flare passed a ticket to Ryker. After smashing that bandit leader's face in and turning him in, they were going to Fiore!

"So where might the unlucky man be hiding...?" Flare asked, her cloak's hood up now that she didn't want to be recognised.
"That's so sweet..." The little mouse-bandit squeaked.

Flare sighed happily and linked arms with her partner, finally taking notice of the little guy. "Before anything else though, we should have this one locked away and let the people know you're not an evil bastard. Maka will probably see to that though."
"Zerenis," Lucia called over, kicking away from the Impulse and stopping herself when she made it to the Regen Duel. "You think there's a chance she's alive? It's weird, but.. I can't just say 'she's gone', ...maybe I just can't come to terms with it, you know?" She sighed, shaking her head. The Saviour got blown to pieces right before their eyes, but Lucia felt something in the back of her mind telling her that wasn't where it all ended. Not that she believed her subconscious... People die in war, and that's all Lucia could say on the matter.
With Izumi's helmet off, blood began to run down one side of her face while her sky blue hair spread freely behind her. The low gravity left little droplets of red floating around in the hangar. Miracle didn't seem to be the right word, to say Izumi was still alive despite all this trauma.

"...Light everywhere..." Her mental voice struggled to say, but she sounded much happier than she was drifting around helplessly in the freezing cold void of space.
"Cronic, leave it to R&D. We'll dedicate a few of our guys to creating one of the uh.. would you call it a.. 'hibernation chamber' or something?" Glitch said as he entered the bridge, looking on at the damaged Wraith Dagger as the Murasame guided it in.

"...Oh... That's... Izumi Zala... Oh dear." Glitch chuckled nervously, visibly trying not to freak out.
With every punch Tamotsu threw, Kuro had used his guns to powerfully pistol whip his fists in response. He wasn't as strong as Tamotsu, but those eyes and his reaction speed were incredible. As the roar shot forward, he charged two shots with his guns and jumped, shooting the ground and letting the roar fly underneath him.

Luka requipped the same bazooka she'd used to blast Zephyr back in the war. This thing only came out when the situation was dire... Figuring Kuro couldn't move in mid-air, she fired the magic rocket at his projected path, but missed as Kuro changed his guns' magic and blasted himself back towards the ground. When he landed, he still didn't show any sign of wanting to fight back.

...Which only served to get on Luka's nerves even more.
"Hey guys.. I'll do anything! I don't wanna rot in some dungeon!" The mouse-bandit squeaked.

Flare nodded to Ryker and grabbed hold of his hand so she could pull herself up. "Though there's nowhere I can think of in Pergrande City that won't treat me like a goddess when we enter. I guess we'll have to hit the road, right?" She asked with a smirk.
"Show some respect you-!" A Shinsengumi officer began, ever so slightly drawing his sword. He was interrupted with a cold, "Shut it" from Hijikata. They let Humaru pass without any more trouble. "Sir!" The officer complained. Hijikata tsk'd a few times and took out another cigarette, lighting it and letting it hang out one side of his mouth, "Deal with it. You don't draw your blade on a guy like that. He's like Sougo, always carrying killing intent with himself. If he wanted to kill any of us us he'd of already done it. You drawing on him would just make it self defence on his part."

"Well... 4th Squad, you're ordered to go back to the headquarters. I'm going to the Terminal to see what Matsudaira has on the attack." Hijikata commanded, swiftly making his way towards the tall metal structure in the center of Edo, running past Humaru on the way.
"Give in~?" Arashi said with a disheartened look, "But I didn't even explode my target yet..." That absolutely freakin' sealed it - she was one of the terrorists! Didn't even try to hide it! "So I'll go and do that right now!" She chanted. The clearly insane China girl then launched up onto the HQ's surrounding wall leaving kicked-up dust where she was standing, and then jumped down into the compound, the sound of a machine gun flaring up as men inside could be heard being cut down by it. ...But all that girl had was an umbrella, not a machine gun! She was going to destroy the Shinsengumi HQ!
"That's a neat trick you have there..." Shiroko said giving Cronic an impressed look, "I suppose embracing the future does have it's perks. But you're a pathetic thing to behold... The embodiment of this corrupt world. Let me guess - without all that technology around and inside of you, you might as well be a corpse?" The lady ninja teased, readying another bunch of kunai between her fingers. Whether they broke into a violent battle or not, her objective was complete and she was free to escape as she willed. Damn all if the cyborg could keep up when that happened...
At the same time these battles took place, a lone helicopter landed in Kabuki District, at the docks where a large airship was being loaded up with supplies. The strange man who looked like Takasugi, but with white hair, disembarked from the chopper and started walking calmly towards the large vessel...
"I found a scapegoat to use, but I kinda forgot about the rest of 'em..." Flare said scratching her neck nervously. "It's great to be back..."

"SCAPEGOAT? WHAT? GOD DAMN IT!" The high-pitched little mouse complained as he struggled to get free. "GET OFFA ME!"

Flare smiled innocently and dropped the mouse into her dress, letting it's head poke out the top. "I don't wanna go to jail, man~!" It squeaked.
