@ravenDivinity Oh he didn't actually do that it's the myths that blew it all out of proportion. In truth the nation is a city state kind of thing and was built on a volcano. Mark was able to cause it to erupt and as volcanoes can the layer of lava that erupted over time built a mountain.

Working on getting specific myths and stories right now though. I have a big over arching idea of him going and pledging to an old god of balance/nature who's basic role is to give everything it's rise and fall. Of course humans not liking the falling part stopped worshiping the god and that's why the world is so unstable in Mark's time. He starts with taking back wild lands, and after that he has more specific myths where he is defending certain sites and things as well as those of him in the wilds with those who now follow the old god again. I want this nice dichotomy where to those who aligned with him he is this folk hero who could heal a lame ox with a magic salve and that the nations remember this cold beastmaster that'd arrive under the full moon and behead the king.

It's been harder than expected to get from all my notes to solid writing. Especially when I see how great everyone else has theirs formatted. Mine is always just so plain and ugly...
@ravenDivinitysorry I'm gonna be late. mythology is in the works. Trying to think up some fitting core events. I already know he's gonna die creating a mountain to destroy a nation :D
I should have mine up today. It's just about done. I just have to hack parts off because I went overboard and well... I have mark's entire history from birth to Myth, and very little in the actual Myths.

That and equipment since I'm stuck on what he should keep.
@ravenDivinity Is that map already in NSEW to top bottom right left? Cause if the white area is north I'm set.
@ravenDivinity Sort of. Think like a combination of those and the american folk characters (paul bunyon, davy crocket), and then throw in some magic and fantasy things. As well he's not as... charming as those characters. Half his work is fighting off those who oppose nature's rule. Yes the other half is helping those who live in harmony with nature, but it's hard to get away from his main objective.

the tales probably got warped over time to make him more heroic.
@ravenDivinitylooking at my work now I think the best explanation he is a folk hero of sorts. He's not some great legend with statues of him in great empires, but instead he's a tale told by grandmothers to children when they fear what lives in the woods.
@ravenDivinityIDk the biggest thing I'm working on is a name. Kane is alright, but I normally use that for terramancers. I'm thinking markiel.
@ravenDivinity Well to put it simply was thinking of a kind of mountain man fellow wtih a giant owl (about 3-4ft tall). In his time he was a sort of preserver of balance worked to keep the world safe from human stupidity. A king wants to use a sacred spring or something for war? Better have Boreas (the owl) peck his eyes out. A merchant fleet wants to colonize an island with special creatures I'll sink the ships then.

He didn't really have allies, but because he was there protecting earth he kept most nations in order. No one could start any trouble since he'd shut them down right quick. More popular among the people than the lords he's gone down as a keeper of balance. At the same time no one really condones how he did things, but when kings see war as the best answer he's not that bad.

He is known as Kane Harrir, Nature's Arbiter.
hmm I've got an odd little concept for a beastmaster/druid type guy who'd have been neutral way back when, but is more antihero in that he uses crude methods to do good things.
@Izuriel SteamWell headed can be taken as he is in transit. easily stop him not far from the battlefields.
