"Actually, Robin of Sherwood is less a child's tale but a myth brought about by decades of pent up unrest towards authoritarian masters seen to have no claim to their power." Alexis stepped around the open door of the ambulance as she spoke, eyeing up the 'Robin Hood' now that she was up close; there was only so much that could be determined through a rifle scope. She still carried the briefcase with her weapon within, disassembled easily and in a short time. Most of the NAIL agents who knew her had given the briefcase a sideways look, as if fearing the contents with the evidence of its work was laid out for all to see barely a hundred foot away.

"The 'Hood' part of his name was assigned by the authorities who sought to cast him as a mere villain, sadly for them he reclaimed it and turned the name Robin Hood into a badge of honour. Somewhat appropriate in this case... for a vigilante." She looked at the man who might as well have come straight out of a comic book before becoming aware that her little speech might appear to be utterly out of left field, especially as the two had not actually met her in person. She thus stepped forwards to shake Nova's hand.

"Agent Black, a pleasure to meet you in person. I'm Alexis Chandle, your support on this case." She gave a telling, sideways glance at the corpse at the bank's entrance in a 'That's my work' manner. "I'm somewhat interested to here your story as well. All the American super heroes have origin stories, as I remember." She raised an arched eyebrow at 'Robin Hood', as he was still known, before turning back to Nova.

"And then I might suggest we find a bar and toast to a successful mission."
I'm still here. I can get a post up tomorrow; it gives others time to put one together that way.
Bump for timezone relevancy.
This is just a general check to see if anyone has tried/would like to try a RP based upon the Old Kingdom books? (Sabriel, Lirael, Abhorsen and Clariel).

If there was interest I would probably start it shortly after the end of Abhorsen or even start during Sabriel and have the RP running alongside and mingling with the books' plot line.

I wouldn't necessarily demand players to have read the books but they would need to read a synopsis of them and have a good understanding of the concepts therein (Charter and Free Magic, societies on both sides of the Wall etc.)

Thoughts? Questions? Interest?
Sorry for the delay - finally got around to posting something in-character. I have to be in a fairly intelligent state of mind to portray Julius well >.<
@Gurren1

I've left it ambiguous for you. Giving his resistance to standard weaponry it would make sense for his skull to be reasonably well fortified.
Stubborn thing.

Alexis watched the events in front of the bank from her high perch, the scope giving her such clarity it was as if she were there in person with sound relayed to her in static-filled patches via her earpiece. Despite most of his limbs now nearly useless, Flash Bang looked to be getting up again. The arrows 'Robin Hood' had put through the villain's feet and hands to pin him down proved ineffective, the enlarged man ripping them from his flesh and grumbling to his feet. Regular bullets practically bounced off his skin and Alexis could see the beginnings of what she referred to as 'blood rage' in Flash Bang's stature; a rage brought on by pain at the very edge of consciousness that would make the sufferer nigh upon impossible to stop.

She had seen it in battle before. Men and women injured, sometimes fatally, picking up their weapon and charging full tilt screaming hate and death all the while firing with terrifying accuracy at their perceived enemies. Often they would suffer more wounds that would drop anyone else but they would carry on until either their heart or head was taken out. Adjusting her aim she took out Flash Bang's kneecap and then put a round in his chest, avoiding any vital areas. Again, he stood up and prepared to charge.

"This is Agent Chandle. He can't be stopped now without significant casualties, maybe even civilian. I'm dropping him."

She ignored the requests for clarification, sighting onto the villain's forehead and fired. Her mind flashed back to the scores of men and women she had taken out in this fashion, both 'domestic terrorists' (as classified by her superiors) and other dangerous malcontents as well as those during her time in the Middle East. Every time it was the same result, the product of high-pressure training that turned her into a weapon just as much as the one she used; the two combining into a killing machine that never missed its target.

Flash Bang's head was thrown back as the bullet bored through his skull, just above the goggles he wore, and then he collapsed in an ungainly heap.

"Subject terminated. I'll leave the cleanup to you, Agent Ross."
"If they're hunting us then our best bet is to ignore them. They're not actively attacking us so they're more likely scavengers, assuming they intend us as nutrition at all." Julius eyed one of the strange creatures with interest, having never seen anything like them before. They truly were very different to insects he knew of back on Earth and the interest they showed in the three humans was unusual; most insects barely recognised humans as life forms at all while these ones were paying close intention to creatures they may not have ever seen before.

"We should move on but calmly. Scavengers will only attack when they sense weakness in their prey; if we exude strength and confidence then they'll most likely just leave us alone. They're obviously at home in this desert so those mountains will be our best hope to lose them, whether they wish us harm or not."

The long walk from the beach to the mountains was beginning to wear on him again. The terrain was not the easiest to traverse, although relatively flat, with the sand making every step harder than it would normally be. Even his treks in the mountainous Lake District back home in England had been easier than this; the ground gave decent purchase and there was plenty of water even though the terrain was much, much hillier. Those were a couple of years ago and his recent exercise was largely short burst sporting events rather than long distance stamina trials.

"If worst comes to worst we could probably try eating these creatures. Insects back home are full of protein, albeit very unappetising."
@Gurren1

Are we just arresting Flash Bang or is he due to die?
Was anyone else looking to post or shall I go ahead and get one up for momentum's sake?
