No problem. Good luck in your other RPs.

I'll try and have the first IC post up tonight. If not it'll be tomorrow.
In keeping with the others probably even younger. The protagonists in Garth Nix's books were adolescents, between the ages of 15 and 18 would be the best range to go for.

If you're having trouble getting your head around the lore and the setting it might not be easy for you to participate in the RP without a deal of frustration on your part as the others have a better understanding of it.
@Fukazza

Well, the only issue is I was intending for the characters to all be fairly similar (in age etc.) as well as being all human rather than deliving into the realms of Free Magic creatures and the Dead since they can only be the enemy, really.

Your character would need to be in a similar vein to the others i.e. human and in the appropriate age range.
@Fukazza

It'd have to be either a creature of Free Magic (in which case it'd have to be a bound one or else everyone would be constantly trying to kill it) or one of the Dead (in which case the Abhorsen would definitely be trying to kill it).

The concepts of angels/demons doesn't really exist in The Old Kingdom series.
@Fukazza

The main issue is still that he is a Chimera and they don't exist in The Old Kingdom world (at least, in the lore we know of).
@Fukazza

That could work but I'd prefer everyone's characters to be relatively independent with no pre-existing bonds or connections so that they're all on an even-footing from the start.
@Fukazza

I'm afraid that wouldn't quite be in keeping with the lore.

Although what would be is a Charter mage who specialises in Charter skins. It would be uncomfortable and one couldn't wear a Charter skin for too long but it allows the wearer to gain traits associated to that animal (for example being a fast swimmer as an otter, becoming smaller using a rat's appearance or being able to dig as a mole).
@Minimum

A little more detail on the appearance would be good, otherwise you're set!

Oh, also I think it'd be more likely for him to have been corrupted by a free magic creature or a specific item than a cave full of it.

You could have him growing attached to a weapon or something that's corrupting his Charter mark?
@Gisk

I'll be NPCing him when he does appear.
Depending on when I get back tomorrow, I should have the first one up after work!
