"Hold up, Julius!" Rhiannon called, out of breath, as she came to a stop at corner, hands on her knees as she tried to recover from her chase. The blond boy had been difficult to follow, always disappearing just as she rounded one corner. Now she had eventually caught up to him and he stared at with his head cocked to one side.

"You're out of breath, Rhian." He observed in a concerned tone, walking forwards and crouching down so that he was eye level with her bent over form. "This illness is taking its toll on you. Perhaps you should see a healer?" He suggested but the girl shook her head.

"Doctor Michael is treating me. I've got my medicine if it gets worse, remember?" She said, finally catching her breath and standing up, somewhat shakily. Julius was still frowning, however, as noticed the paleness of her skin.

"Ellyll don't get ill, Rhian. You have a human mother but you inherited all of your father's blood; you might as well be a Pureblood for all the difference it would make. You shouldn't be suffering this. You never did before you left home. Nor did you ever see me before." Rhiannon's head jerked up at these words.

"B-but, Julius! We've been friends for ages!" A sad look was on Julius' face as he shook his head. Nearby voices made both of them look towards the source. When Rhiannon turned back Julius was gone.
Same as Igraine - Happy Birthday Walrus, I hope it was festively good one!
Rhiannon had been lingering near the back of the group from sometime, unnerved by the talk of sparring and fighting; violence of any kind had always upset her even if it was only planned and for practice.

"So I guess everyone's eager to do some sparring then?" She asked quietly, still staying near the back. "I'm going to... absent myself for a while if that's okay. I'm not good with fighting and the like..." The normally bouncy and cheerful girl spoke in a subdued and quiet voice which only those closest would be able to hear. Taking a step back she spotted a familiar flash of blond hair and dashed down the corridor she had seen it in, leaving the others behind.
"Yep, we were discussing our forthcoming date! Or not, who knows?" Rhiannon laughed and then paused for a moment, chewing her lip. "Actually, if anyone did want to go on a date where would they go? I mean, some of us could go to the town nearby but others are more... noticeably not human, right?" As she thought about this point by herself others joined their group again and the topic of clubs came up.

"Ah, if we're going to start up a combat club then I'll be a medic. I've never been good with fighting... I've got my singing to get me out of those situations anyway!" As they entered a hallway a girl with similarly coloured hair to Rhiannon appeared before them.

"Hello! Are you a new student as well? I'm Rhiannon and this if Flint, Alex, Zach and Adruin. There's a few more of us but they're off elsewhere. Who are you?"
Queen Louise

It was nightfall by the time the fugitives left the Academy proper, camping in the charred ruins of North Unity with a picket line around their entire encampment although those expected to fight camped closest to the gate; if any enemy appeared it'd be their pursuers although they would probably give up the chase over night. The Queen was speaking to one of her aides when Gwen arrived to report to her.

"You are referring to those bandits which attacked us on our way to the Academy? Princess Elaeria is somewhat more used to war and raiding than Henry is, especially since we've been at peace longer than Fristha. Do not worry about our safety, we're in the best hands possible. That's as long as the enemy don't catch up with us, of course." The Queen seemed to be thinking of something else, despite the severity of their current predicament. "Walk with me, Gwen." She said, gesturing for them to move away from the others who were taking what rest they could before they moved on again. When they were a fair distance away the Queen looked at her guards who acknowledged the order and stayed where they were, keeping an eye out while staying out of earshot.

"Henry will most likely be angered by my telling you of this but I believe it is in his best interests which I think you and I know he does not look after well." She began, finding a seat in the shell of the building, presumably a tavern by the numerous chairs in varying condition littered around its inside. "You see, Henry is the second son of his family and was meant to be a scholar... or possibly even the High Priest. He certainly had the aptitude for it. As such his family and mine wanted to secure a bond of friendship between him and I so we were mentored together, Henrietta was already my servant then." She paused for a moment, caught in an old memory before shaking her head sadly and then continuing.

"I suppose it was when he was around the age of seven that it first showed. His brother had returned from the war, for a short time anyway, and was teasing Henry about his feminine company and upbringing. Back then he had quite a temper but for some reason that time it triggered a fit. We called the physician immediately, of course, and he was stopped from doing any harm to himself or anyone nearby but it scarred him quite deeply. After that he was always very careful to stay calm... he was never the happy and energetic boy he had once been. His brother, Samuel, was very apt in bringing out his temper though and seemed to enjoy in causing Henry's fits. He suffered through half a dozen, that I know of, before Samuel... disappeared on the battlefield." The Queen glanced back towards the camp, as if looking for the subject of their discussions.

"After that Henry was raised as the firstborn and his father was very strict, forcing him to 'make up lost time' as he called it. I rarely saw him but I heard from the Royal Physician whose son serves House Charlton that Henry's fits had become quite frequent, brought about by severe pressure and stress. Overtime they became less and less frequent as he started to seal away his emotions, bit by bit. When I saw him next he was a different person, so stiff and formal and saying so little. Then he went off to war and it only made him less of who he was. He has loosened a little since then, thanks to the peace, and to you, I believe." Here the Queen smiled slightly at Gwen, envious that despite her long friendship she had not been able to return Henry to his former self. Then her smiled disappeared.

"But he suffered another one of those seizures today, I saw it in his face. I do not know what caused it but he will need to be watched for if he has begun to fall victim to his infirmity again." Standing up, the Queen began to walk back towards her guards. "I'm trusting him to you, Lady Ashburn. He's an important childhood friend of mine."
Rhiannon was yanked aside by Flint as he confronted her about the earlier situation. She bit her lower lip, glancing around.

"Doctor Michael told me not to tell anyone but... since you already know a bit I guess it's okay?" She was clearly making the statement for her own benefit before she continued. "I was born with this but Doctor Michael said it gets worse the more people who know about it, because it's a special Ellyll curse. Not even my parents know about it; only you, Julius and Doctor Michael. If I go to a hospital they can't cure it and more people would know, only making it worse... plus I have the body of an Ellyll which is a bit different to humans'. But don't worry, I have some medicine from Doctor Michael which helps. That's why I needed to go to the dorm, to get it. I'm not supposed to carry it around with me in case someone notices." She shrugged. "Are we okay now? Don't worry, I'll be fine now I've taken it." She grinned and grabbed him by the wrist.

"We've fallen behind now so come on, bach."
Rhiannon returned to the stairwell but found Flint was not there. After peering out a window into the courtyard she could see that most of the others were still there so began to head down but when she got there the group was dispersing. Seeing Alex heading off she went to join him as Adruin also did.

"Alrighty I'm back!" She announced. "So, what're we up to now? Exploring or lessons or something else?"

Her medicine had helped considerably, her chest still hurt more than it usually did when she was back at home but at least now she felt comforted in that she had help in recovering.
"You haven't been taking your medication, little miss."

Rhiannon looked up at the familiar voice to see Doctor Michael sitting at the desk in her room, writing on a piece of paper. He always appeared when she needed advice regarding her condition; she trusted him more than any other doctor she had seen with her parents. Having first met him when she was very young, he had promised to always look over her when he could. He had told her to keep her illness a secret, even from her parents, since it would only make them worry and as an Ellyll she'd be immune to it.

"It's only been so bad today, Doctor." She said as she struggled up and then over to her unpacked travel case. Inside was a small tub of pills he had given her before she came here, instructing her to take two when her chest felt especially bad. "I started coming the moment my chest started hurting again." She said, taking two of the pills with a glass of water from the bathroom. She liked the taste of the pills; they had a sweet tasted compared to other tablets like paracetamol.

"Good girl. Well, I'm working here at the school so if you need any help I'm always around. And remember, don't tell anyone, except Flint, about your illness. It would only make them worry." Rhiannon frowned, trying to think if she had seen him at the school at any point although the Doctor had told her he would be coming here.

"How did you know he saw me?" She asked suspiciously but the Doctor merely laughed.

"I have magic too, little miss. I shall see you later." And with that he disappeared leaving Rhiannon a little bewildered.

"I better go back and meet the others." She muttered, leaving her room and heading back to the assigned meeting place with a clean handkerchief in her pocket.
"Alrighty, we'll be back before long. Tara." Rhiannon headed after Flint and they headed into the castle proper. They headed towards a spiral staircase which led to a gallery running along the face of the castle where Hunter joined them. "Yeah, of course." Rhiannon replied to her request although she noticed the girl lingered a little bit further behind, perhaps unsure of how to start talking to them since they already had an established relationship. Normally Rhiannon would make efforts to integrate Hunter but she was more concerned with her own situation at that moment in time.

Halfway up the stair she felt the rise in her chest and leaned stopped almost making Flint bump into her as she bent double and coughed into a folder handkerchief she had barely brought out from her skirt in time. It turned red with the blood she had coughed out before another bout hit her, forcing the Welsh girl to kneel down on the step as her body was racked by the strain. Eventually it subsided and she folded the handkerchief over to hide the stain and tucked it into her pocket again, although she knew Flint had seen but Hunter was still too far back to have notice anything except a standard coughing fit.

"Don't tell anyone, please?" She told Flint quietly before turning and continuing on their way. She didn't want to go into detail yet about her condition and such a public place was not the location to do it in. Soon they reached the top of the stairwell. "Well, the girl's dorms are this way. Let's say meet back here and then return to the courtyard?" She hurried off without waiting for confirmation and entered her room, closing the door firmly behind her before collapsing again in another fit of blood-filled coughing that left her weak on the floor.
"Hey there, we spoke a second ago." Rhiannon greeted the new girl. The others would have no idea what she meant but it would give the girl some comfort that she had been invited over. "We've all been introducing ourselves and showing off our powers, if you wanted to join in. I think Alex was about to do something..." She felt strangely exhausted from her efforts and the pain in her chest was returning so when Flint mentioning needing to change she leaped on the chance.

"Actually I need to get something from my room too. The dorm towers come off the same corridor so we could go part way together?"

Her medication was in her room although she wasn't mean to use it except in severe circumstances but seeing as she was on her second bout of sufferance today she should probably take some to get through the rest of the day safely.
