The Orphans of Military Base Nexus

WELCOME TO NEXUS MILITARY BASE

Story...

The year is 2050, the world is enduring a time of great resource shortages. In the year of 2032, the world divided in to two seperate conglomerates. The Free People of Aidira, a loosly connected empire consisting of North and South America and Greenland, led by a council of elders from each part of Aidira, these people live to fight for their right of freedom instead of being under the matriach rule of The Empire of Ragalla. This Empire originated from Russia and quickly expanded to Asia, Europe and Africa. The Empire took control of the most of the worlds coal, natural gas and nuclear power in only 15 years. This Empire, led by High General Ludomir Pichugin, is on a campaign to destroy the The Free People of Aidira, then can they claim world domination.

But there has been one country that has been able to keep its independence from both the Empire and the Free People.

Australia.
Australia remains independet but has to constitently gaurd its borders, due to neverending attacks from the Empire. With this in mind the government has declared that mandatory terms of military service must be conducted in order to keep its borders secure.

Plot:

Abandonded at birth, due to the high tax rate of newborn children, you have been taken in by the Australian Military to be part of their new experimental program, NEXUS. This program takes newborn children and starts turning them into the ultimate fighting machine. The program started in 2032, taking select children from orphanages and hospitals, and then taking them to the NEXUS facility located in Melbourne, Victoria. They started testing on the children using different methods and drugs. One day a scientist cracked the human DNA in one of the childs, this discovery made a breakthrough and gave the young children powers that were once fictional. You are one of these children, training for the day that you are sent to the frontlines to push back the invasion of the Empire and keep your country and home safe.

Rules

• No god modding and arguing with the GM. I want this to be creative and fun for everyone.
• This is not a game where everyone wins, people die in war. prepare for your cahracter to die or not. This means that your character can't have invincibility. But due to the experiments you can't die that easily.
• Powers have to be realsitic so that means you cant just conjure fire from your hands or fly around. What I mean by this is that you can burn your enemies alive but you need a flame to manipulate before doing that.
• As for your characters make them as interesting as you want, but no talk about how you were brought into the program, you're an orphan you don't have a past family. The only family you have is the rest of the children at the program

Liam Yugure - Emerald Forest - Tuesday mid morning

Liam walked the forest, he knew he was behind the rest of the students, so he moved with purpose, but he hoped he would meet someone along the way. He was annoyed at the loss he was at, he figured that if he didn't get a crystal soon, he'll be kicked out.
"ARGH, this is so annoying. Why didn't those pads launch me further. I swear..." he said to himself before he heard a large amount of beowulfs. He turned and he saw four average sized beowulfs and two large ones. His chaingun was already in his hands, he smirked and loaded a fire crystal into his chamber.
"Come and get some, before i get bored." The four small beowulfs all attacked at once, Liam activated his semblance, the beowulfs bounced back only to get up to a line of fire from Liams chiangun. The two larger beowulfs attack. Liam grabs the other handle of his weapon and readies himself to use his sword. The first comes from the left, Liam strikes upwards slicing the beowulfs chest and face, leaving it dead in the grass. The second tries sweeping Liams feet, he throws his blade into the ground and jumps, the beowulfs hand chatches the blade, slicing its hand open. Liam grabs the beowulf by the head and slams it into the ground. He picks up Pis'mo and brings the blade down into the second beowulfs skull.
"Too easy..." he said to himself again walking deeper into the forest.
"Time to keep moving i guess."

Liam woke suddenly, his left hand grabbed his chest, his heart was racing, his chest burning, he was breathing heavily until he saw Renji, he focused his vision for a second and listened to what Renji was saying.
"Thankyou Renji, I understand why you did what you did. But right initiation day, yeah maybe we will end up on the same team. Best of luck." He replied, still calming down after what happened. He saw Morgan reaching out to him and he gladly accepted, he stumbled a bit but gained his footwork as he was helped to the bathroom. By the time the pair go there Liam was pretty much walking on his own.
"Thankyou Morgan for the assistance, I'll see you around and maybe we'll be put on the same team." Liam walked over to the showers and washed himself. After his brief shower he dressed and readied himself. He placed his armour pieces on, making sure they were tight and secure. After that he heard the announcement telling all students to head to the cliff, he grabbed Pis'mo and followed the crowd.

Liam Looked at the launch pads and the first thing that ran through his mind was How do I land? He moved to a platform and readied himself, Chaingun in hand and tie flapping in the wind. He listened to what the two professors were telling them.The first person we make eye contact with huh? Then a crystal shard, then a horde of Grimm? Sounds like a little bit of fun... He noticed students being launched already, he crouched down and felt the launch pad power up, then launch him. He wasn't going as far as some of the others due to his weapon, but just before he hit the tree he held the chaingun out in front of him and carved a hole so he didn't collide with the tree. He then activated his semblance just before exiting the hole. The dome stopped him in his tracks, as he hit the side of the dome with a thud. he climbed down, a little sore but unscathed.
"Now time to find a team mate..."

Liam tossed and turned in his sleep, the reoccurring nightmare of his first time encountering Grimm, played back in his mind over and over again. It starts with him walking the forests alone. Grimm appear out of nowhere, Liam grabs the chaingun of his back, carnage everywhere, it seems like the Grimm don't stop coming. eventually Liam is almost overun, he runs cutting his way through the Grimm, one by one the grimm fall. Eventually they stop, Liam smiles at his work and starts walking again, thats when an Ursa appears from the treeline catching Liam offgaurd, the Ursa swipes and catches his chest creating the three large scars across his chest, blood poured, left lying in the snow, until someone fully cloaked came along and took him away from the scene. He stirs in his sleep he can feel his scars burn, he can't wake up. His mind is telling him to move but he can't, the nightmare holds him.
Someone please, wake me from this... his mind was awake but nothing he did worked. His chest burned, the dream again replayed itself.

After downing a few more shots Liam rememberex that he was still at school and tomorrow probably needed a much needed rest. After hr downed his next shot he slammed the glass down.

"Thankyou for the drinks good friend. But im gonna hit the hay and get some rest for tomorrow." he waved goodbye and walked to the bathroom to change into his tracksuit pants. He stared at the scars across his chest and sighed. He walked out, shirtless, and couldn't help but notice a small group of girls stare. He flexed a little and gave a slight chuckle.
This training definitely paid off...
He set up his sleeping arrangements in an darker area where there weren't many people and lied down staring at the ceiling wondering what was to come.
