Try different methods other than soap and water. Took me three weeks of two hour polishing a week to get my uniform up to Core Drill standard. A tad of elbow grease and some determination goes a long way. Though, I doubt anyone's bothered about drill team standard uniform.Hence why I spoke

I'd clean my IBA more, but I turned it into CIF already. I got my PCs which were getting rather nasty cleaned by soaking them in 5 dollars of detergent.

Did the same on my uniform and got it clean. Though it isn't all that economical.

._. #topicchange. it is CLOTHING. I believe the human who serves the country itself is more significant than that.

People don't see your last name when they look at the uniform, they look at the 'US Army' nametape. I've gone an entire day without my last name and no one said anything, someone else when a few minutes without their US Army and shit quickly hit the fan.
I'm a sucker for Fallout.

I'm going to be honest and tell you your uniform is mildly awful. Take better fucking care of it. It's not hard...

Mine?

The ACUs aren't dirty, faded maybe. The IBA is what looked the worst.

I tried to scrub it when I got it, I spent a few hours on the bastard and it wouldn't fucking clean. It looked allot better though.

Or the longterm political ramifications of "everyone will hate you forever."

Whats ironic is that the Russians developed their own system, which would launch nuclear missiles into low orbit, and at a moments notice would re-enter and land on a target. The system had no range, initial launch would yield no possible targets, and it would have been able to avoid detection when it came back into Earth to strike.

The US Orion project and the Russian Fractional Orbital Bombardment System came around at the same time, the Americans didn't let the project live long, while the Russians kept their own on until 1983 with the number of treaties that were signed, prohibiting space weapons.

The Russians had the first orbital missile regimen on alert by 1969, however they suffered a high fail rate of 20-25% during tests and only 16 or so missiles were ever built.

They (Russia) wouldn't have had any political ground if the Orion-class had been launched, it would have been a justified US response to the Russian program. Though paper ended it in the 1980s.

Oh,

Apologies then.

That's because they are the deployment uniform and I'm wearing them because I am deployed, for the second time to Afghanistan.

Is it for all active duty only? Because my National Guard unit deploys in ACUs and I was kind of hoping at some time to get my hands on a set that I wouldn't have to pay out pocket for, then again, I'd rather do that than get deployed to get it.

Multicam is nice, had to go out of my way to get that shirt. The pants however, are custom. And play nice guys, the E-5 in the room commands it.

You should get some German Flecktarn, its such a lovely camo.

Also E-5? The picture shows Specialist, unless hes been promoted, of which, I feel even more like a jackass.

Not really. The US would have effectively annihilated itself launching the Orion. (Add in the fact it's main weapons were also it's main fuel :p). The moment the Orion began launching the USSR would have launched to eliminate it, and would have succeeded, though the US would have launched in reaction to the Soviets launching in reaction to the US's original launching. We'd have had the whole nuclear exchange. End of the world Australians conquer the Earth :p

The status of the Soviet nuclear arsenal in the 1960s and 1970s was horrible, mostly short-range tactical nuclear missiles, bombs and a small number of primitive ICBMs. Meanwhile, the combined NATO and US nuclear missile arsenal was on the verge of being OP'd. Hundreds of highly sophisticated, ICBMs followed by tactical nuclear missiles and bombs to be used during a ground campaign.

A nuclear exchange in this time would cost around 19-20 million American lives, while wiping out most of the Soviet Union's population.

Its a crazy thing really, most of the Cold War NATO could have won, though it would have not been so pretty in the end.
Canada is a nice place from what I hear.

You're not wearing a combat shirt, you're wearing an ACU top. You're bottoms are also ACU, not Multicam. Don't tread on my ground if you're gonna do it wrong. This is an ACU combat shirt. I'm wearing Multicam.

I was talking about the guys multicam clothing in the picture, not what I had on.

Let this private has a moment to be the guy that looks like he knows what hes talking about ;-;

As much as I want your multi-cam (i'd rather be your rank, but I'm an E-1 with nothing to pay for, so meh), the only people I know with those uniforms have been deployed. DO not honestly want.

You American's and your silly colored camo... Hell, I'm not even military, and I rock British issue Forest 95's on a daily, freakin' basis.

I grows on you honestly. I thought it was ass when I first wore it, but after a while, you start to like it.

And I <3 M81 Woodland, I used to wear my dad's old BDU blouse all the time with the sleeves rolled up and everything. Shame you can't roll the sleeves on ACUs up.

No... no it wasn't :pBecause right now we've only got one planet, a propulsion system based on nuclear weapons (While possessed of VAST amounts of thrust/specific impulse) is an absolutely terrible idea if you don't have a spare planet to live on :p

What would have happened:

Orion series commissioned,
Soviets try to counter,
Orion bombs Moscow, US nuclear superiority wipes out SFSR, NATO liberates Warsaw Pact.
China last commie wanna be left.

Sadly, I'm just vastly watering it down, its the jist of how things would have gone in the 1960s/70s.
