You could've at least politely said that you didn't want to hear such depressing news - as opposed to so bluntly and rudely telling Neo not to talk about anything RP related despite the fact that his post was far more than just a random comment.

I mean, I knew that we can pretty much post anything here (going by the fact nobody ever said anything about us using this as a chatroom-like place forthe Football/Soccer World Cup), but still. Thanks....You know, I'm just afraid sometimes that things like this might eventually drag the entire world into World War 3. The Netherlands is a NATO country, and any attack against any member of the NATO counts as an attack against all of them. Combined with the already sour relations between Russia and the USA (Which is also a NATO country), and the clues that the Separatist are getting weapons from Russia... Yeah. I mean, deep inside, I know that nobody really wants WW3. However, I also know that humanity is deeply stupid and, for the most part, very nationalistic. To me, it's pretty much a given that WW3 will happen eventually. I just hope that it won't happen in my lifetime, you know?

Yeah, I know that feel. I suppose all we can do is hope things smooth over... I mean, if WW3 happens then it'll happen regardless of whether or not we worry. And if it doesn't, then we're stressing ourselves out for no reason.

Hence why I kind of just try to ignore such thoughts...

Advertising another RP site in your signature is not against the rules. It's making a whole thread to advertise (or I suppose even just a single post) - that sort of thing. In fact, iirc, "either put a link in your signature or just stop advertising altogether" is usually what the mods say to people who try to advertise (or at least, the ones that are clearly still members of the community and not just here for the sole purpose of advertising).

So... Guys? You may or may not have heard, but a Boeing 777 passenger plane crashed near the Ukrainean/Russian border on its way to Malaysia. It was most likely accidentally shot down by pro-Russian separatists, who thought they were aiming at a military transport plane. The death toll: all 283 passengers plus all 15 crew members. totaling at 298 lives lost. Most of said passengers were Dutch (At least 154 of them; At the moment of writing this message, the nationality of 47 victims is still unknown.). I... I'm just really glad that I don't know anyone on that flight.

I'm sorry to hear that, Neo. I suppose we can be grateful that you didn't personally know anyone on that flight - but it's still tragic.

Also, feel free to post about off-topic things like this in my OOC in the future if you feel the need - or really any time you feel like starting a conversation. I promise you that while I may act like I run a tight ship in my RP's, I do allow my players to use the OOC as a sort of lounge - and I can assure you that no one will act like a dickweed and tell you to shut up on my watch.

Especially not in response to such tragic news.

Doesn't matter if there's a need or reason. I feel like Neo's perfectly within his rights to post his responses to big things like this - you know, just some place to get his thoughts down.

Hell, if anything, my experience has taught me that a healthy dose of off-topic chatter in an OOC thread can help make RP groups feel closer and keep general activity on the forum moving so as to help strengthen the RP's longevity.

And overall I really see no reason why RPing has to be all-business like you act like it is. Why can't roleplayers engage in some friendly conversation? Or in this case, maybe vent about something that could be personally upsetting? :/

Nissa tensed as she heard Jasper call out to see who was hiding, making her fully awake in less than a second, though she was pleasantly surprised to see someone else emerge from the forest - implying that this newcomer was the one Jasper sensed, not her.

…But, wait, hold on… Nissa couldn’t allow herself to relax and go back to sleep that easily, not when she considered how weird it would be for a human to just know someone was hiding in the forest like that. Nissa certainly didn’t hear anything, and Jasper didn’t act like he could see anything, so how did he know someone else was around? On top of that, this Jasper fellow seemed unnaturally tall… Curiosity piqued, she very carefully removed her leaf cover before attempting to follow them. She tried oh so carefully to stay hidden behind tree trunks whenever possible, though, as she found it extremely difficult to be stealthy while creeping across the ground - always worried the sounds of her footsteps would give her away. Unfortunately, flight was not an option at this point in time.

Vash listened closely to the Viewer’s explanation, but much of what he said seemed to raise more questions than it answered - particularly the fact that the Viewer himself didn’t bring them there and the concept of a “snap-back effect” caught him off guard a bit. Regardless, he allowed the Viewer to continue without interrupting.

As for his question about the wishes, it was clear that the saying “be careful what you wish for” rang very true here. He supposed he should’ve expected as much. In that case, he’d have to think carefully about what wish to ask for, considering the potential side-effects and drawbacks to each wish in order to decide what would be best for Gunsmoke. Additionally, he’d probably have to be very careful in his wording for each wish, too.

In the end, while he still didn’t know much about what to expect from each trial, he saw that there wasn’t much point in backing down, as there was a whole lot to gain and not much to lose. Though, he did worry that one of the trials may require him to take the life of another - and if that were the case, he’d forfeit once he got that far. But, in the meantime, he decided he might as well go for it. “I also accept.” he spoke, stepping forward. “If I have any opportunity to make my home planet a better place then so be it.”

I'd say it's a fantastic direction to give a crossover RP. ^^

Moral of the story: Don't simply Google anything you don't understand. Especially if it's implied based on people's reactions to be something horrible.
